We hired Handy Builds because we needed help for a client site. We bought one of their WooCommerce plugins, which changes the normal buying setup into a quote request thing. 
Our client didn’t want people buying directly on the site; they wanted folks to ask for a quote instead. The plugin mostly did what we needed out of the box, but we had to make a few small changes so quotes went to the right place.

I’ve worked with a bunch of Woo plugin folks before, but HandyBuilds was prob the most professional outta all of them. Even tho this wasn’t a big project or anything, they still set up a kickoff call with us. We talked through everything, they made a plan, gave us a clear timeline, and then actually stuck to it. No issues. Everything went smoothly, which is rare tbh.

we haven’t launched the site yet but we tested everything in-house and it works great. no bugs or anything weird. the changes they made were exactly what we asked for.

they pretty much did everything. i gave them a basic layout idea, my logo, product pics, some text. they built the full site on woocommerce. added paypal and safepay too which was important for me. it looks clean, works good on phones, and they showed me how to log in and change stuff if i need to.

also they’re hosting the site and doing maintenance too so i don’t have to stress over anything breaking. real smooth process.

site went live like a week ago. had some small issue with payments not working right but they fixed it same day. since then it’s been solid. already had some online orders come in which is cool to see. site looks just how i pictured it. really happy with how it turned out.

they got it done on time even with all the stuff going on in the world. we mostly talked over email and whatsapp. when i needed to actually talk, i’d call and they’d answer or call back pretty quick.

Then we had them do the same thing for our spain school. they didn’t just copy paste stuff, they made it fit each place. moved our content over, fixed it up so it made sense and looked good. handled everything start to finish.

they’ve got a good system. first they get the brief and send back a plan that’s super clear—timeline, pricing, all that. once we’re good to go they just dive in.

they mostly use WordPress, which we needed, and they build from scratch. no weird templates or bloated stuff. just clean, solid builds.

they always test everything before going live. and after launch they don’t just bounce. they’ll offer support or a maintenance plan if the client needs it, which is cool. ppl actually ask for it cause they like working with them.

we don’t need to be on calls all day. we mostly work async which i actually prefer.

they normally use Basecamp but we use Asana + they just rolled with it. no drama. we do Zoom if we need to chat but mostly it’s smooth with comments and tasks.

they started by showing us some design ideas that matched our brand, which was nice. we didn’t have to do much there. they also helped us figure out which system to use for the site (we picked wordpress) and then made a bunch of custom stuff so it worked the way we needed it to.

they took care of all the tech stuff too  frontend, backend, whatever else. made sure the site was safe and met our security stuff too. we didn’t have to chase them, they just kinda got it done.

They built the new site from the ground up, structured it to align with our goals, and guided us through the strategy behind it. They pretty much took over all the tech stuff. like fully. They manage our woocommerce stores, do updates, fix bugs, add new features i ask for, handle security, keep things running smooth.they also helped with adding new payment stuff like a credit card checkout which helped a lot. they’ve also been working on making the site faster and better for users. if i ever have an idea or need something added, i just hit them up and they get it done.

so this is kinda wild but one of our sites grew by like 300% and another by 900%. just from the tech fixes + adding better payment options. even just adding the card processor made a huge impact on sales.they also made the site load way faster – like 80%+ faster. i didn’t even realize how slow it was til they fixed it

Handybuilds pretty much rebuilt our entire website. The old one was so bad there was no saving it—it needed a full redo. I told them I wanted the site to play a video as soon as someone opened it and to be super easy to use so people could actually learn about us without getting frustrated.They started by making mockups in Illustrator to show us what it could look like. They explained everything really well, like how the website would flow and how to use FusionCMS so we could make updates ourselves later. That was a big deal for us ‘cause we didn’t want to bug them every time we needed to tweak something small.We gave a lot of feedback on stuff like colors and the structure, and they were great about listening and working our ideas in. Now, Handybuilds hosts our site and takes care of maintenance too, so we don’t have to stress about it.

 I love how the site turned out. It looks super clean, modern, and just... way better. We’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it, which feels awesome. Even better, some of our clients have straight-up told us that the website made them want to work with us. So yeah, it’s definitely making an impact.

If we missed a deadline (which happened a couple times on our end), they were cool about it and still kept things moving forward.We used Google Spreadsheets to share updates and feedback, which was super helpful. They’re really good at taking random ideas and making them real. Like, I threw out this weird idea about a sub-selector page working like the shift knob on a manual car—kinda random, right? But they didn’t even blink. They took the idea and turned it into something amazing. That level of creativity was super impressive.

If I had to nitpick, I’d say they could do a better job of explaining how all the parts of the project fit together. Sometimes we felt a little lost, like we weren’t sure what the next steps were. If they could give more updates about what’s going on and what’s coming up, that would help a lot.

They also gave us advice on what plug-ins to use and added features that made the site run better.They suggested using WordPress VIP for hosting, and honestly, it’s been a great call. Even now, they’re still helping us with updates and keeping the site running smoothly.
