At the beginning, it was necessary to research which are the most common functionalities and components used in most digital products. The focus should have been on not over-designing the components in the entire design system, because we want to have a very simple possibility of additional styling in case the client requests it, while of course we want to preserve the existing functionality.
After complete research, the entire design system was created with all components divided by Atoms, while tokenization was taken care of so that all variable values could be easily exported to CSS, SCSS or JS for programming purposes. 
As a proof of concept and presentation of the application of the created components from the UI library, a basic CMS system with a Dashboard for User management was created, where the application of all components in mobile, tablet and desktop versions, together with related prototypes, was presented. Key deliverables: 

• UX/UI research for minimalistic and multipurpose design of UI library 
• Creating a design system 
• Implementation of Figma tokenization 
• Creation of CMS dashboard together with prototype and mobile variants of each screen

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Shortly after creating our own UI library based on the design system and dashboard created by Gluhak Design, our company had to create a completely new product from scratch for its new client, which resulted in the following: 

1. Thanks to tokenization, the development codes are clean, and the project setup and adaptation of the UI library to a completely different look and feel takes only an hour, because now the values are read from the variables generated by Figma tokens.
2. We have reduced the need for constant need for designers by almost 50%, because the design system is so easy to use that product managers very easily put together common and simple screens found in applications, and then only for special functionalities, Gluhak Design adds new components and screens in the design system. 
3. Based on the product we are currently developing, which is based on the design system and dashboard developed by Gluhak Design, it is evident that we have managed to reduce development costs by 30%, and we still have a custom look and feel of the product and all related screens in Figma designs.

Their communication is fast and efficient. Most things are communicated in writing with little time spent, and all things that require a deeper discussion are done through video calls, which are also fast and efficient. Everything was delivered on time, the team is proactive and if there is a possibility of extending something, it is announced on time and a compromise is always found that will suit the client as well as the contractor.

They are willing to invest extra time if they see room for improvement that would benefit the project in the long run. This includes the structuring of frames, application of constraints, integration of auto layout, and creation of components within the Figma tool. Breakpoints and grid systems were meticulously adapted, considering prevalent screen sizes. 

Additionally, a three-breakpoint system and popular grid configurations for distinct devices were outlined. Vertical rhythm was established for consistent spacing and grid alignment. Font styles and text sizes were specified across breakpoints to ensure readability and visual coherence. 

Lastly, the navigation design in Figma was conceptualized for future consistency across pages or screens. All these preparatory practices aim to enhance the forthcoming implementation, ensuring an optimized user experience on diverse devices and screen sizes.

I wanted to create a website that would serve me as a presentation site and as a portfolio to attract more clients. In the beginning of my work, I delivered my ideas, plans, and must-have items to Goran.

After that, we agreed upon a Design thinking session, where we researched and brainstormed about looks and feel of my website, as well as researched examples and my competition. Goran also helped me pinpoint my exact user personas who will be my clients, we agreed upon on my preferable aesthetics, and instructed me how to create high quality wording.

Moreover, he provided me with mood boards and examples, shared instructions how to use Wordpress in the future, how to implement Yoast to take care of my SEO, and we work together to create a responsive website that looks and works great on all devices, since most of my clients will most likely find me via mobile phones. We also discussed imagery, functionalities and plugins.
