We came to Ginger IT Solutions with an older website that contained years of material about bread, history and cultural heritage, but the structure and presentation no longer worked well for us. 

They first helped us rethink how the content should be organised, including articles, books, educational materials and other resources. One of the main challenges was modernising the website without losing the historical character and seriousness of the subject, and they found a good balance between the two. 

Ginger then created the UX/UI design and developed the new website in WordPress. They built the content management system so we can easily publish new articles, add books and update existing materials ourselves, which was particularly important because the project continues to grow. 

They also took care of responsive development, on-page SEO, technical optimisation, testing and launch, making sure the website was easier to navigate for visitors and better structured for search engines.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The clearest outcomes were improved search visibility and a much easier publishing process. Our articles and materials are now easier to discover through Google, and we can add new content, books and updates ourselves without relying on technical support. The website has also made our archive much more accessible to people interested in bread, history and cultural heritage.

The project was managed very smoothly from beginning to end. We communicated mainly with Tom, who was our main point of contact throughout the process. He was always responsive, easy to reach and very good at simplifying some of the more technical aspects for us. 

He also gave us useful advice on how certain things could be organised or improved, which made decision-making much easier on our side. We always felt that our ideas were being heard, but also that we had someone experienced guiding us when needed.

Because our work covers many cultural, historical and educational topics, we needed a website that could present a large amount of content in a clear way while still keeping the simple, traditional character that fits our organisation. Ginger helped us rethink the structure, navigation and overall presentation, then created the UX/UI design and developed the new website in WordPress. 

They also made sure we could easily add and update articles, projects, events, publications and other materials ourselves. They handled the responsive development, technical setup, basic SEO optimisation, testing and launch. 

What was especially useful for us was that they could also provide hosting and ongoing website maintenance at a very reasonable cost. We decided to move the website to their hosting as well, so now they take care of the technical side, maintenance and website stability, while we can simply focus on publishing and updating our content.

The biggest improvement is how much easier the website is to manage and use. We can now publish and update content ourselves without depending on technical support for every change. The website is also more visible in search, easier for visitors to navigate, and much more reliable since Ginger now handles the hosting and maintenance as well.

What impressed us most was how thoughtfully they approached both sides of the website. They had very good suggestions for how the content should be structured and presented to visitors, but they also paid equal attention to how everything would work for us behind the scenes. 

They organized the WordPress administration in a very practical way, so adding and updating content is simple, while the frontend remains clear and intuitive for users. That balance between a good user experience and an easy-to-manage backend was something we really appreciated.

Some of the more technical parts were naturally new to us, so at times we needed things explained in a little more detail. That was more about our own lack of technical knowledge than their communication, and they were always very patient, clear and willing to guide us through everything.

We contacted Ginger IT Solutions to help us design and develop a new website for our band. We chose them because of the creativity we had seen in their previous work. Since we are a band with a very specific identity, we did not want a standard corporate website. We wanted something original, bold and visually memorable. 

From the first meeting, the Ginger team understood exactly what we were trying to achieve. They approached the project creatively and gave us plenty of room to express our ideas, while also making sure that the website remained intuitive and easy for visitors to use. 

The design was created in Figma, and we were also provided with a working prototype, which was especially useful because we could see how the interactions and overall experience would feel before development started. Ginger also helped us structure and prepare the website content, including recommendations on what information and sections should be included. They worked on optimising the content for Google, local search and AI-powered search, while also handling the technical and on-page SEO setup. 

The website was then custom developed in WordPress, with a unique theme created specifically for us. One of our important requirements was to be able to manage the website ourselves after launch, so they made the CMS very easy to use. They also provided training and tutorials and showed us exactly how to update existing content and add new content when needed. 

Before the website project, Ginger had already worked with us on our complete branding, including our logo, T-shirts and other graphic design materials, so they already had a strong understanding of our visual identity. 

We are now planning to continue working with them on the next phase of our digital presence, including SEO, GEO, social media and broader digital marketing activities.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

All of us in the band are genuinely happy with the website and proud of how it represents us. One of the best outcomes has been the feedback from our audience. We have received a lot of positive comments, especially from people saying that the website really feels like us and reflects our style and personality. 

It is also very easy for us to manage. We can update existing content and add new things ourselves without having to contact the agency every time, which was important to us. 

Most importantly, the website is also bringing real business value. Venue owners and event organisers are finding us through organic search and AI search, visiting the website and contacting us directly about booking live performances. That has helped us generate new opportunities and directly contributes to the band’s revenue.

If they felt that something would not work well from a UX, SEO or usability perspective, they explained why and suggested a better solution. They were very proactive in guiding us on what would be best for the website, while still respecting that the final decision was ours. 

The design process was very fast, and they reacted quickly to all of our feedback and revisions. The same was true during development. 

The entire website was completed in less than a month, fully within the timeline we had agreed on at the beginning of the project. Everything was delivered on time, and the whole process felt very organised, efficient and easy from our side.

What impressed us most was how easy they made the entire process feel. You can immediately tell that they have a lot of experience and know exactly what they are doing. The old content has been refactored and reclassified into different categories for better understanding and accessibility. Within the first month of the new website’s release, we saw new keywords popping up that were previously not present on any search engine. The SEO refactoring has shown a noticeable uptick.

People in Serbia aren't used to buying online, so we've had to work through a lot of challenges to make the website easy and practical to use. We've taken a minimalist direction to create a website where customers can feel safe while buying. We're very open and transparent. Customers can choose whatever perfume they want and purchase it. We only offer pay on delivery, so the website doesn't support credit card payments.

The user can see our brand description in one sentence on the first page. Then they can scroll, see a picture of me and my husband as the founders, as if we were talking to them. We have a best-seller section where we recommend some perfumes to buy. In the footer, there is just some regular information.

There are product pages with women's, men's, and unisex sections. We also have an "About us" page. The team is creating and writing a blog for us. Customers choose the perfume and size, type in shipping information, and pay on delivery. Ginger IT Solutions has included post office information so users can calculate shipping prices.

They’ve also developed a number of extensions for the platform due to new feature requests specific to the nature of our business. The team has also designed and developed a secondary website intended for the local market.

Moreover, they’ve done digital marketing, SEO, and PPC campaigns using Google Ads. Currently, they’re developing a centralized Laravel platform that will power the website and the mobile applications that Ginger IT Solutions will develop.

Ginger IT Solutions has been great to work with and talk to. They've provided us with solutions. We've measured their success based on the finalized designs, development of the e-commerce platform, and extensions going live. Some of the products they’ve developed are live, while others are still in the design and development stages, and everything is going great. 

We also take into account the smooth usage of the platform by our users and our growth. The latter is why we've chosen to expand our engagement with Ginger IT Solutions. The team has been awesome; they’re the best company we’ve ever dealt with. We plan to engage Ginger IT Solutions for all our design, development, and marketing needs.

I was very happy with the outcome of our project. A couple of patients approached us to ask who created and designed the website. The local directors of another clinic also contacted us because they liked the clean and modern look of our site. We gained more notice in the area, not only from patients and clients but also from our competition.

As soon as we launched the website, the traffic increased significantly. We launched the site two months ago because we were a new business and had to wait for regulatory approvals and inspection to launch the company. The numbers were increasing exponentially from month to month.

How did Ginger IT Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Ginger IT Solutions was very thorough and communicative. The team kept us informed about the project's development. We communicated via video calls on a regular basis using Google Meet and Zoom. We also used emails and phone calls. We met in person on one occasion, which was fantastic since Ginger IT Solutions was based in a different country.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ginger IT Solutions was one of the best development teams we worked with. We had built 4–5 clinics with different groups of developers, and we were highly impressed with Ginger IT Solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything for the team to improve. If we set up a new clinic, I plan to go back to Ginger IT Solutions.

Always follow Ginger IT Solutions' lead and advice because they know what they're doing. The team is up to date with the latest tools and technologies. We took their advice on many matters, and I suggest doing the same.

We were looking for a team to work on website development projects for our end clients. We developed the site's designs and needed a partner for implementation.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Generally, during the design phase of each project, we share design files with Ginger IT Solutions. The team reviews our design files for a couple of days and returns with an estimated time and cost for development. We work with Ginger IT Solutions throughout the development process. Generally, our initial requirements and designs expand or change during the project as we present reviews to the end clients. 

Most of our sites use WordPress as the backend CMS and are based on PHP, which is generally hosted on a Linux server. We've also worked on projects that use JavaScript frontends, and Next.js is a specific technology that we've used, too. Overall, Ginger IT Solutions does most work in WordPress, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS stylesheets, and Sass. The team also uses a build tool to compile all the JavaScript assets.

What is the team composition?

Our communication is with two primary teammates from Ginger IT Solutions: the head of project management and the head of development. We usually work with a developer too, although we don't interact directly with them. At any given project, we work with around three teammates. 

How did you come to work with Ginger IT Solutions?

I met Ginger IT Solutions through a teammate I worked with when he was with a different company. He let me know he had left that firm to start his own company, and I wanted to continue the relationship with him. I contacted Ginger IT Solutions to get an estimate the next time we had a big project that seemed to be bigger than our team could handle.

We spend around $20,000–$30,000 per project. Overall, we've spent around $200,000–$250,000 with Ginger IT Solutions since we've worked together.

We started working with Ginger IT Solutions in the middle of 2023, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're currently closing a project for an end client in the real estate industry. Initially, the client told us they didn't have a big budget, so we decided to use an off-the-shelf software. However, this tool wasn't customizable to fit the end client's needs, so we called Ginger IT Solutions and told them we had a small budget to do customization work but had a huge need.

Moreover, the tool's developer took our customization requirements and told us the tool couldn't be used that way. When we brought Ginger IT Solutions, the team said it would be tough but thought they could do it. The team was able to appease, so I can't think of a bigger praise for them than the fact that they delivered an inexpensive solution to serve a very prestigious client. 

Ginger IT Solutions was willing to take on this project even when the tool's maker didn't think it could be done. Our end client knew we had a good development team and was even more excited after this project. 

How did Ginger IT Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a lot of ongoing correspondence with Ginger IT Solutions throughout each project to follow up on tasks completion they had previously been assigned and to discuss changes in scope priorities or timelines that arise. The development process is super smooth when end clients don't request changes. Usually, we're the ones that have restricting deadlines, and Ginger IT Solutions still delivers on time.  

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight Tomislav (Chief Sales Officer) and Stevan's (CTO) work. Stevan has been amazing, and we've worked on several projects with him. He serves as the head of technology and also rolls up his sleeves to do work. 

The team is based in Serbia, and their time zone is around six hours ahead of mine. Still, Stevan is available for us throughout the day, which means he works late hours in his time zone. I've reached out to Stevan with an emergency at 5 p.m. in my time zone, which is probably 11 or 12 p.m. in his, and he has responded. It's super comfortable to work with a teammate who is willing to help since I don't usually get that kind of responsiveness when working with an offshore team. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ginger IT Solutions questions our decisions and offers suggestions when we need help to solve problems we didn't anticipate. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is nothing about Ginger IT Solutions' current approach or delivery that I'd ask to be improved. Still, if they could expand their bandwidth down the road, it would be wonderful to use them for multiple projects simultaneously. We keep Ginger IT Solutions busy, and although they've never failed to meet our needs, our company's needs keep increasing as we continue to succeed. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

A lot of firms think it's their responsibility to define requirements on their end when searching for an outsourced partner, throw work over the wall to the developers, and expect them to deliver code. However, usually, the end client's requirements change during the course of the project, so what you want isn't just a robot that is going to do exactly what you tell it to do; you want a team that offers insight and has a strategic mind about what the best solution might be. 

My advice is not to treat Ginger IT Solutions as a robot but as a strategic partner and to engage with them early on at the strategic and development levels.
