The MVP was delivered, users are fully completing the user journey, and we have a robust admin section. The developers have been very easy to work with for making tweaks and improvements to the UX/UI. While it is still early days, their work has helped point the way towards our V2 requirements.

They delivered on time. As is usual with development, there were a few minor delays due to us refining features, but it did not affect the project overall.

The biggest opportunity for improvement was on our side, particularly in granting them full access to our AWS and cloud-based environments earlier in the process. Doing this sooner would have streamlined certain phases of development and potentially expedited the project timeline.

Required help with multiple projects due to resourcing issues locally. The guys were responsible for managing development tasks with oversight from local our local team. This was important, the ability to be able to work collaboratively with existing developers. This ensures we have consistent architecture and code patterns. 
At the end of the day, we required a multi-environment cloud platform with dynamic role-based access control, built on React, with an accompanying mobile application. We also required designs and UI/UX, and we needed this to look and feel consistent. Importantly, we needed this to be done collaboratively, frictionlessly, and—if we could help it—with good people.

Their approach to project management is one of the best things about these guys. They're always looking to improve at every touch point. 
Typically (at least in Australia) PM meetings are met with 'this isn't my job', 'its someone elses fault' etc. The guys here approach everything with a 'How can we do this better' attitude, and contribute ideas. They're flexible, turn things around fast, and if I need a change in process they're on it immediately and changes are noticed.

It's a holistic approach from these guys that make a difference. Firstly, they want to userstand the outcomes, deliverables, and process. They can work within my requirements - which at times can be a little needy - but they're always adaptable and this goes for everyone on the team. 
When times get tough and I need a little extra from the team they've accommodated to help push things over the line. This is always appreciated and never expected, but if you've ever been in those crunch moments you will understand how good it is to be in the trenches with some teammates. 
The adaptability - I chose them because of their tech skills, but these guys also packed a punch in other areas. BA's / Designers etc. It's so great to be able to pull from their pool of talent to get things done. 
Lastly - the guys are good people. In a world filled with good eggs and bad eggs, these guys are human and are very real to work with. It is genuinely a pleasure to work with them.

There's always room for improvement everywhere. But nothing of note that would affect my decision to continue working with them.

We started this company right around the time we met them. We needed help to build a web application and a mobile app for iOS and Android.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Geeks of Kolachi provides frontend development for a web and mobile application, as well as QA testing services. They’ve helped us bring an idea to life by solving technical challenges to achieve our business goals. Mainly, they’ve implemented our frontend and done testing for our mobile application. Some key technologies they use include Python, HTML, CSS, AWS, and Heroku.

Initially, we provided them with the requirements they’d implement. Some of the app's core features include the ability to do KYC and AML, link a bank account, transfer funds between accounts, automate cashflow management and investment rebalancing criteria, choose different investments, maintain and create accounts, and provide real-time performance information for clients and instant reporting.

Geeks of Kolachi were engaged to design and develop Rahmah Connect from the ground up as a scalable online services marketplace. The project began with the UI/UX and Figma design stage, where we worked together to map out the platform, user journeys and functionality. They then moved into the development phase to turn the approved designs into a fully functioning responsive web platform. The scope includes separate experiences for customers and service providers, including registration and profile management, service listings, search and filtering, provider profiles, availability, booking and booking management, reviews and ratings, provider verification and document uploads. They are also developing the administrative side of the platform, allowing us to manage users and providers, approve verification documents, oversee bookings, manage reviews, monitor transactions and commissions, and access platform analytics. The project also includes payment integration, provider earnings and payouts, email/notification functionality and the technical infrastructure required to operate the marketplace. An important part of the brief was to ensure the platform was built with future growth in mind, allowing us to introduce additional service categories and functionality as Rahmah Connect expands.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As the platform is still in development and has not yet launched publicly, we do not have customer, revenue or website traffic metrics at this stage. However, there has been clear measurable progress against the project milestones. The full UI/UX and Figma design phase has been completed and approved, covering the key customer, service provider and admin journeys. The project has since progressed into the development phase, with the team working through an agreed sprint plan and delivering the platform functionality in stages. The project has remained structured and transparent, with regular progress updates, demonstrations and opportunities for us to review the work and provide feedback throughout development. For us, the strongest measure of success at this stage is that the original concept has progressed from an idea and initial specification into a professionally designed platform that is now actively being built towards launch.

Their project management has been very good throughout the project. Communication has been consistent and we have always had a clear understanding of what stage the project is at and what the team is working on next. They established a structured sprint plan for the development and have kept us regularly updated on progress. When we have provided feedback, requested changes or raised questions, the team has been responsive and willing to discuss the best way to implement them rather than simply following the original specification without considering our needs. They have also been flexible as some of our requirements have developed during the project, and communication with the team has been easy and professional. Overall, we are very happy with the way the project has been managed so far. The project is still ongoing, but the team has been organised, responsive and transparent throughout the process.

What impressed us most was the level of communication, transparency and involvement from the entire team. From the beginning, they arranged meetings where I was able to speak directly with the wider team working on the project, rather than communication being limited to just one account manager. Throughout the development, we have received regular updates through Slack, including daily progress updates and actual evidence of the work being completed. This has given us a lot of confidence because we can see the project progressing rather than simply waiting for the next milestone. The team leader has also been excellent. He has kept us updated, explained the technical side in a way that is easy to understand, offered advice when decisions needed to be made and has been proactive in suggesting solutions rather than waiting for us to tell the team exactly what to do. We were particularly impressed with their design team. We started with an idea and requirements for the platform, but the designers were able to translate that into a professional and polished UI/UX. The quality and attention to detail of the Figma designs exceeded our expectations, and they were very receptive to our feedback and revisions throughout the process. Another thing that stands out is that it genuinely feels like the wider team understands what we are trying to build and the long-term vision behind Rahmah Connect. They have not treated it as simply another website development job. They ask questions, make recommendations and think about how different features will work from the customer's, service provider's and business's perspective. Overall, the combination of high-quality design work, transparency, regular communication, strong leadership and the involvement of the whole team is what has impressed us most.

At this stage, there isn't anything significant that we feel they should have done differently. The project is still ongoing, so naturally there may be challenges as we move further into development and testing, but our experience so far has been very positive. If anything, as a non-technical client, there have occasionally been areas where more explanation around some of the technical decisions or terminology would have been helpful. However, whenever we have asked questions, the team leader and developers have taken the time to explain things and advise us on the available options. What we appreciate is that they are open to feedback. If something needs changing or we feel something could work better, we can raise it directly with the team and they respond constructively rather than being defensive. Overall, we don't have any major areas of improvement to highlight at this stage, and we have been very satisfied with both the process and the quality of the work delivered so far.
