Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our product is called TravBook, which is a travel-oriented social network platform. We aim at creating an inclusive community connecting travelers of similar interests and seek to provide the most authentic, barrier-free traveling experiences to all travelers around the world. Our business is based in Singapore targeting SEA [South East Asia] markets. I am the founder and chief executive officer and am in charge of executives and operations.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fooyo?
The main challenge was the development of mobile applications, as it is hard for a new startup to process such a heavy workload team at the start. Fooyo was able to offer us the best of the solutions at the best prices. They successfully helped us to create a beautiful app supported on both iOS and Android platforms.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They came in and helped us all the way, from initial idea building to UI/UX [user interface/user experience] design, with insightful suggestions at every step of our app development. They came out with the best function design based on our requirements, such as the logic behind our verification and level systems.
How did you come to work with Fooyo?
A common friend introduced them to us while we were looking for suitable companies. There were five to six companies on the list. From what we evaluated, they were able to offer the best products within a short period of time at a really reasonable price.
How much have you invested with Fooyo?
There were two stages of developments on our app; the total price range is from 100,000 to 150,000 SGD [~70,000 to 100,000 USD].
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working roughly from May 2016, and both stages of developments have just ended this early December.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Fooyo managed to engage with us once every two weeks to update on all details of development, so as to keep track of our new requirements. They are also very generous towards new requirements without demanding extra payments. We kept in touch on every detail during the process, and they have proved to be extremely responsive whenever any issue is raised. The quality of work is perfect, way above our expectations.
How did Fooyo perform in terms of project management?
They performed very well this entire project in terms of responsiveness, quality, and professionalism at work.
What did you find most impressive about Fooyo?
I would say efficiency. It’s amazing how they are able to accomplish such a great project within such a short period of time, with high-quality results delivered.
Are there any areas where Fooyo could improve?
I believe they have done a great job providing us the solutions.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with Fooyo?
I might focus on the promptness of communications between clients and Fooyo. This plays an extremely important part when it comes down to how well the product turns out to be what the clients expected.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
My partner and I started a social food discovery startup in Jakarta, Indonesia.
What challenge were you trying to address with Fooyo?
We needed help with developing a mobile app based on an idea we had. Because Jakarta lacked skilled developers, we decided to invest in Fooyo.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We asked Fooyo to develop our mobile apps for iOS and Android as well as the backend with Ruby on Rails. With the help of a third-party UI/UX firm, Fooyo developed our apps from the ground up. This consisted of an MVP [minimum viable product] and a fully functioning iOS, Android, and Ruby on Rails app.
How did you come to work with Fooyo?
We met with several development houses in Jakarta and Singapore. Based on their body of work, skill, chemistry, and pricing, we decided to go with Fooyo.
How much have you invested with Fooyo?
We have invested more than 50,000 SGD (~35,000 USD) with Fooyo.
What is the status of this engagement?
We contracted them from October 2015 to January 2016. Soon after the project completion, they worked with us once more for small functionality changes in the apps. We still speak on a regular basis but we no longer contract them for more work. We have our own developers now.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Fooyo is a small team and the scope of our project was quite large considering we required 3 apps. Working remotely, they delivered the project within 2.5 months. That is very impressive.
How did Fooyo perform in terms of project management?
They practice Agile and they did a very good job managing our project. We worked directly with all members of their team, including the project manager and developers.
What did you find most impressive about Fooyo?
We appreciated that they took ownership of the project. It never felt that they were taking shortcuts. They had their own input on how the app should be like. We were impressed by Fooyo's work ethic and attitude, which included late nights on our project.
The client is completely satisfied with the app built by Fooyo, and they particularly appreciated Fooyo giving biweekly updates. They also praised Fooyo's generosity with tackling new requirements without demanding extra payments.
