I’m the CEO of a software company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Fifth?

We needed a partner to help build an infrastructure for our web-based platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fifth built our entire solution from the ground up. The system, which also possesses database components, provides visual representations of data.

We were focused on implementing key features that weren’t available from others in our market. 

What is the team composition?

Throughout the engagement, we worked with a total of about seven or eight people, including a project manager. At first, we worked with about three people, and as the project expanded, we doubled the team composition. 

How did you come to work with Fifth?

We reached out to a number of different companies to build out a proof of concept. Fifth’s team was ultimately more effective than the competition as they were able to successfully execute what we’d asked of them within a reasonable timeframe and budget.

How much have you invested with them?

This project cost about $2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project between October 2017–November 2018. However, we continue to work with Fifth on other engagements.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We consider the project to be a success, as the final product reflects what we’d originally set out to achieve. We knew what we wanted our application to do, and Fifth was able to accomplish it for us. 

How did Fifth perform from a project management standpoint?

Fifth managed the project well. Our product is quite unique in our market, which demanded some learning in terms of how to approach development. Along the way, both of our teams definitely improved our understanding of what to expect from the project. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Fifth will go the extra mile for their client.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were a few instances in which they bit off more than they could chew. Everything we needed to accomplish eventually was, but sometimes that slowed the process down. For the most part, we would’ve preferred they inform us outright when tasks were going to be a challenge.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As with all vendors, make sure they’re a good fit before moving forward with them. Also, your engagement will be more successful if you have the ability to meet with Fifth in person, so you can both understand one another’s processes better.
