I’m a marketing manager at a mobile communications company. We’re an international critical communications and software company that works with public safety agencies, infrastructure, and businesses that require purpose-built communications networks and operational software.

For what projects/services did your company hire Epipheo?

Our public safety software team had just rebranded the portfolio and we needed a series of videos to clearly explain and bring to life the breadth of our capabilities.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to educate internal and external audiences about our offerings and establish ourselves as a legitimate player in the industry. We also needed to differentiate ourselves by showing the end-to-end nature of our suite in a highly fragmented market.

How did you select this vendor?

We wanted to explore vendors who could build upon our existing brand guidelines, but present a new take on them for our software portfolio. Epipheo showcased expertise and understanding of the style and content we wanted to bring to life.

We created five videos in total, an overarching video that reflected our entire suite and four others that delved into specific sub-categories. Epipheo provided everything from creative conceptualization and scriptwriting to comprehensive production and animation. The videos were used in marketing campaigns and internal education efforts.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We interacted with approximately four people regularly: an account manager, the creative director, a project manager, and a designer. Feedback was consistent, and revisions were well explained via video messages from the creative director. This was incredibly helpful for understanding why they did what they did.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

These videos contributed to the successful launch of our software platform. We’ve implemented Epipheo’s creative direction at tradeshows as well as in new content that we’ve since developed. The videos themselves have gathered thousands of views on YouTube, but more importantly, they’ve become an invaluable resource to orient our sales teams and internal personnel.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their two managers were highly communicative and held all parties accountable for their responsibilities, which we very much appreciated. We primarily worked through email, our preferred method.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Epipheo brought a level of expertise and partnership we hadn't seen for a project of a similar scope before. They helped guide development and provided suggestions based on their experience.

What challenge were you trying to address with Epipheo?

With the launch of our new tip and pipette system, we wanted to make a companion video to demonstrate the latest technology for our consumers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Epipheo was brought in to produce an animated video that explains the ergonomic benefits of our product in a way that connects with our audience. After deciding on the best animation style, they moved on to develop a rough storyline with a few visualizations. They allowed us to make edits to the storyboard throughout the process, and their team followed up with a quick execution. Once our distributors submit their additional content, we will launch the video via a social media and email campaign.

How did you come to work with Epipheo?

We received quotes from several video production companies but ultimately decided on Epipheo. Although they weren’t the most affordable option, they had the most impressive demo reel.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $50,000 for the video.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from November 2018–January 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

While it’s too early to measure the impact that the videos will have on our business, everyone within our organization is pleased with their work. The animation is easy to follow, and Epipheo’s technological advantage is clear.

How did Epipheo perform from a project management standpoint?

Epipheo has nailed the video design process down to science. Their meticulous planning made the collaboration remarkably smooth and precise. In addition to mapping out every single detail of the development stage, they scheduled meetings before each phase so that we could review their progress and make necessary changes. They always delivered their edits within the same week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The level of efficiency within their organization is unmatched. Our engagement with Epipheo is unarguably the most pleasant outsourced project I’ve worked on in my entire career. Additionally, their efforts resulted in a high-quality asset that will be very useful for us.
