Enginerasoft is the third developer I hired for this project. The first two could never get the application completely functional or finished. I gave Enginerasoft the existing code and gave them the outline of what the application was intended to do. They were able to look at the existing code, implement changes, and completely rewrite parts that were not working correctly.

They provided recommendations on platforms and Enginerasoft had a good understanding of what the end goal was and asked relevant and thoughtful questions about the design. They asked several questions that had never been asked before, such as how certain parts of the application should behave in detail.

Enginerasoft broke the project down into appropriate milestones and was able to complete them as promised. They always shared their work and I never felt that I was seeing a demo they had created (as in my prior experiences)- they were showing me the app as it was functioning on a live AWS instance.

They communicated well and provided full transparency into what they were doing and what the results would be. The listened to my concerns and responded accordingly. They offered suggestions when they deemed appropriate and many of those suggestions made the application better.

The web application automates integrates with Quickbooks online to automate recurring entries, so that accountant interaction is not needed. The application is primary targeted to Quickbooks ProAdvisors with multiple clients. The application is functional and achieves its intended purpose.

They always responded promptly, but were patient when there were delays on my end. The project had some starts and stops, but Enginerasoft took those in stride and gladly picked up where I had left them.

Communication and transparency. I never felt as if they were hiding issues and I felt confident that what they told me was correct.

Enginerasoft was actively involved in the KineticBlu project, contributing their expertise to the backend development process. Their developer took charge of this aspect, employing .NET technology to build a robust backend system. KineticBlu serves as a valuable plug-in for the Revit tool, empowering architects to efficiently create interior plans for various rooms. 

As of now, the tool is primarily geared toward bathroom designs. Its innovative features and functionalities make it an indispensable asset for architects looking to streamline their interior planning process. The backend API played a crucial role in creating a workable and robust system for the KineticBlu plug-in. 

By leveraging the backend API, we were able to implement various functionalities that allowed users to define wet walls and place different types of toilets according to the room form. Additionally, we integrated specific conditionals to ensure compliance with accessibility requirements for people with disabilities.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I have to highlight the exceptional involvement of Alex, the company owner, throughout the project. Alex worked hand in hand with me to ensure the right resource was assigned to the task. When the first resource didn’t work out as expected, Alex was quick to step in and took it upon themselves to make me whole again. 

In addition, Alex proactively contributed to establishing the appropriate development processes(Agile/Scrum) with other developers on my team, even those who were not under his management. 

Additionally, the developer’s adherence to project timelines was commendable. They completed the work well within the agreed-upon timeframe, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. It was a pleasure to witness this level of commitment and client-focused approach. Kudos to Alex and the entire team for their outstanding efforts!

They offered a product manager at no extra cost who was really great to work with — she was really responsive and made sure that the engineers from both sides were always responding. Overall, she did a really great job of managing the development process and communication. With their help we applied Agile/Scrum process. We usually communicated through Slack and Google Meet for virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The Enginerasoft team's remarkable focus throughout the project left us thoroughly impressed. Despite the size of our team, their unwavering dedication helped us adhere to our timelines with honesty. Additionally, their open communication and flexibility were outstanding. When unexpected challenges arose, they swiftly responded and kept us well informed. Their adaptability played a crucial role in completing the project within a reasonable timeframe.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Enginerasoft could have done differently?

I must say, when it comes to Enginerasoft, I can't think of anything they could have done better. While we didn't finish the project within our original timeframe, it wasn't solely their responsibility; there were other factors on our end. Overall, their development work was excellent, and they were proactive in communication. We would be delighted to collaborate with Alex and his team again in the future.

I am the CTO of an education software company. We build education software to help students with their college choice in the US.

What challenge were you trying to address with Enginerasoft?

We recruited Enginerasoft to do some contracting work to help us build the first iteration of our web app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Enginerasoft built out our initial web app using React for the frontend and Firebase for the backend. They built our login and sign-up functionality and worked on our onboarding funnel and survey, which contained a series of five steps that new users had to progress through while they answer some questions.

Moreover, they built our homepage functionality, which involved calling into some ML models that we have and showing some of the schools that we recommend. We built a separate recommender system that Enginerasoft did not work on, but they helped us integrate it with that system. They also built a search page functionality for us so that our users could search through all available schools and interact with them.

Their team also provided UI/UX support, which was actually extremely helpful because my co-founder and I weren’t designers. They improved the designs we had drafted.

What is the team composition?

We worked with several resources from their team: two developers, a product manager, a designer, an architect, and Alex (Founder & CEO).

How did you come to work with Enginerasoft?

We published a job posting on Upwork. We interviewed five or six different contractors, and we were really impressed by Alex and his team and all the extra support he was offering, so we ended up going with them.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent a little over $11,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project from February–May 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we initiated the work on Upwork, we came up with a contract with all the features and functionalities that we needed. Their success was based on all of the functionalities we had discussed, along with the UI/UX design.

We were initially shooting for May 1 as the deadline, but software development is tricky and always takes time. Enginerasoft did a great job of doing bug fixing to help us get a little bit past the initial deadline and made sure that all of the features were working.

How did Enginerasoft perform from a project management standpoint?

They offered a product manager at no extra cost who was really great to work with — she was really responsive and made sure that the engineers from both sides were always responding. Overall, she did a really great job of managing the development process and communication.

We usually communicated through Slack and Google Meet for virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were most impressed with the amount of focus the Enginerasoft team showed throughout the project. With all the team members we had, that amount of focus helped us stay honest with our timelines.

They were also very communicative and flexible. A lot of things came up unexpectedly, and they were so quick to react to them and inform us. Their ability to adapt to the situation really helped us finish our project within a reasonable timeframe.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I honestly can’t think of anything that Enginerasoft could’ve improved on. We didn’t finish the project within the original date that we wanted to, but that was due to issues not only on their side; there were other issues on ours. Overall, they did a really good job in terms of the development work and actively communicating. We’d love to work with Alex and his team again in the future.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear and upfront with what you want Enginerasoft to develop. They were really good at understanding our project scope, but you also need to make sure that you know exactly what you are asking for.

Develop an app to control two different whole house audio systems that we manufacture, with the ability to control up two 12 zones on a single system, and have as many systems within the app for customer that have more than one audio system in their home or business. 

One of the systems is a much older system that is still being sold today, but the MCU is slow and if too many commands are issued at once it can lock the system up. It was important that the app was designed to work without locking up the system or creating issues with the keypads. We also needed to give customers the ability to name their zones and their sources within the app, and push names to the keypads in order for the names to be displayed on the keypad as well as in the app. 

We requested a cloud server so customers could create a backup of their zone and source names, presets, and groups they created in order to allow the customer to restore that backup on new phones or tablets.

The delivery of the app!

Project management was very good. All items were delivered within the time frames they set, they kept us informed of every step they were taking and communicated to us non-programmers in a manner that we could understand. They asked questions to confirm they understood our requests, and they came up with some ideas that were better than ours and ultimately made the final product better.
