The foundational work included onboarding our entire organization onto centralized device management, giving ECW full visibility and control over our endpoints. They assessed and took ownership of our network infrastructure across locations, implementing structured security practices including access controls, monitoring, and policy enforcement — areas we had never formally addressed before.
Simultaneously, ECW planned and executed a coordinated hardware refresh across all 15 of our retail locations. This involved procuring, staging, deploying, and configuring new equipment at each site with a level of coordination that kept store operations running throughout. There was no single-location approach — everything was managed as a unified rollout.
Running parallel to the hardware project was a full transition to a new point-of-sale system. ECW worked alongside our team and the POS vendor to ensure the technology side of that migration was handled cleanly, reducing the burden on our internal staff who had no technical background to lean on.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Prior to engaging ECW, we had no centralized visibility into our devices, no formal security controls, and no standardized infrastructure across our locations. The outcomes from this engagement represent a meaningful before-and-after for our business.
15 retail locations successfully refreshed with new hardware, on schedule and without store closures or significant operational disruption during the rollout.
Full device management coverage achieved across our organization — for the first time, we have visibility into every endpoint, with the ability to manage, monitor, and secure them remotely.
Network security posture established from the ground up — we went from an unmanaged, ad-hoc environment to one with defined policies, access controls, and active monitoring in place.
POS system transition completed across all locations without data loss or extended downtime — a migration of that scale carried significant risk, and ECW helped us land it cleanly.
Reduction in day-to-day IT friction — our staff spend less time dealing with device issues, and when problems do arise, ECW's remote management capability means resolution is faster than anything we experienced before.
The most meaningful outcome is confidence — we now know what's on our network, who has access to what, and that someone is watching. For a business our size without internal IT, that's transformational.

Managing a hardware refresh across 15 retail locations while simultaneously supporting a POS migration is a logistically complex undertaking, and they handled it with a level of organization that made the process feel controlled rather than chaotic.
They came prepared. Each phase of the rollout was planned in advance, sites were coordinated so our store teams knew what to expect and when, and the sequencing was managed in a way that avoided overlap or gaps that could have caused disruption. We didn't have to chase them for updates — communication was proactive throughout.
On the question of timelines, they delivered. A project of this scope across multiple locations has a lot of variables outside of anyone's control, and when adjustments were needed, ECW flagged them early and came with solutions rather than just problems. Nothing felt like it caught them off guard.
Where they particularly stood out was in their responsiveness to our needs as a non-technical team. They understood that we weren't going to be fluent in the details of what was being done, and they adjusted how they communicated accordingly. Questions got answered, concerns got addressed, and we never felt like a low priority despite the size and complexity of what was in flight.
For a business without internal IT, the most important thing a partner can do is make you feel like they have it handled. ECW consistently did that.

The coordination across 15 locations was genuinely impressive. That kind of rollout requires more than technical skill — it requires logistics, communication, and the ability to keep a lot of moving pieces aligned without letting anything slip. They pulled it off without making it feel like a big deal, which is exactly what you want.
What we found most unique, though, is how they handle the gap between technical and non-technical. ECW took the opposite approach.
If anything, the early stages of the relationship involved both sides learning how to work together most effectively. That's normal. What matters is that ECW was receptive throughout and continued to refine their approach based on our needs. By the time the major project milestones were behind us, the working relationship felt seamless.
We don't have significant criticisms to offer — and that's not a diplomatic non-answer. It reflects a genuinely positive experience with a team that treats client feedback as something worth acting on.
