WebGuru.ng is a Nigerian domain name registration and hosting provider. We also provide application development services. I’m the founder of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with E Pixel Services?

The skills required for me to do business aren’t completely residential. We have certain abilities, but often have many tasks going at the same time.

What was the scope of their involvement?

E Pixel Services developed a couple of e-commerce sites for us. We’re also working on a social app. I typically go to them for updates after the product is finished.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with four people, but most of the communication is with one person.

How did you come to work with E Pixel Services?

I made a web search for companies I could engage for my projects. I looked at E Pixel Services’ profile and past work and decided to give them a try. They delivered good work, so I continued the collaboration.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost so far is between $15,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with E Pixel Services around June 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’ve delivered more work thanks to E Pixel Services, and the quality is good. My team can get overwhelmed with projects, so working with them has made things easier for us.

How did E Pixel Services perform from a project management standpoint?

For any project we have, we’ll first set up a WhatsApp group. We have calls sometimes, but most of the work is discussed through email. We use Google Docs for task lists and timelines. I’m a project manager myself, and so is my colleague, so we handle this side of it. I believe E Pixel Services has internal project management, but we create the tasks and timelines ourselves. They assign the required resources to us.

I try to explain tasks quite clearly, including by using diagrams, so we have no problems in this respect. Their response to emails, calls, and chats is reasonably good. They get to work right away after I schedule a task and meet our timelines most of the time.

Paying them has been a challenge because of the limitations of Nigerian systems. Credit card payments have upper limits for citizens, which have been exacerbated by the pandemic. Another challenge is that I’ve had to work with them outside my time zone. Otherwise, things have gone well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very friendly, flexible, and understanding. They didn’t stop working even when we had difficulties paying their invoices. It happened a couple of times, and we always worked together to find a solution.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.
