What we found most impressive was DStudio's ability to work with us and gather our feedback via mostly asynchronously methods (Slack channel; Slack DMs). Dstudio Agency's design work output is superb; they could transform our input into dev-ready designs. THAT can be hard to find when selecting an outsourced design firm. There were a few virtual meetings but those were mostly for planning future design-work to ensure we had allocated the proper number of DStudio resources to match our desired delivery timelines.

We asked DStudio to completely overhaul our web app designs, starting with our visual identity.

Our marketing site had been recently redesigned by a professional designer and looked very different than our app. Our app had been using the default Chakra UI theme to build out the initial versions of our product, and most pages were a simple card component with data inside.

We had various usability and design issues with our product, the main part being a project tracker for families. We worked with the team at DStudio to cover new features, usability issues, and things that just weren't working that well.

Dstudio Agency completed what we asked of them, and the results looked great! We received an influx of positivity from our staff after launching the changes, and our customers love it as well.

DStudio delivered everything on budget and within a reasonable time. Its wild to see the progression from how things looked at the start to how they ended. I think we found a good balance and just them going through some iterations helped us find what we really wanted as our in-app brand.

I think we were relatively difficult customers to work with. Our business plans changed a lot in the months that we had contracted. We have high expectations and we were also extremely busy. Keeping up on the coordination was hard.

These things seem more like our own problems, but having a team overseas doing work for you can be difficult when all of the communication is async.

Within 2 Months they designed the complete application and branding. and after 4 months they launched the app. and later on, they have enhanced the entire project. I really loved the output I received they were very professional with easy communication.

The project manager was easy to collaborate with and communicate with, we received daily updates from the team, for communication they used slack and for task management Trello.

Their design skills, attention to detail, and best was their color and typography. UX guy was able to tackle all issues and he provided the best possible solutions. Payment terms were flexible.

1. They should hire 2 more designers.

We originally hired Studio to help us with a design. We had a concept design done with the functionality that we wanted, but it just didn't look great.

We reached out to 4 other designers and almost did a competition on which design we would like the best and Studio was head and shoulders better than the others, they completed it in a timely manner and were very professional all the way through.

Even though I am in the USA they communicated on my time zone and answered every question with great English and complete understanding of my questions.

What were your goals for this project?

To create the most simplistic, functional, and beautiful app out there. Really paying attention to every detail that goes into it.

How did you select Dstudio Agency?

Like I have said earlier, we found them online because the quality of their work. We found many designers and payed them all for a small sample of what they would do to our app and they did the best job and we decided to go with them.

 They proceeded to design our 150+ screen prototype. We then gave them another project of designing a dashboard of ours for our app management. We love the aesthetic and the quality of work.

The management is amazing, everything is organized and price is way better than what I could get here for the same quality of work.

They got it done so fast our team of developers could not keep up with them, so we asked them to help us with some front end development and they are moving at insane speeds! They killed it on every end, design, testing, changes, then even the development!

What was the team composition?

We started out just needing designs done, but even moved into front end development. We have many people on our team but they handled everything on the design, review, and front end development with testing. Completely.

They had a project manager that knew exactly where each project was at and what needed to be done. Super super organized. Not a one man show by any means.

They use real experts and masters to get the jobs done. Not just people who somewhat know how to do it.

They have developed the design for our mobile app, our website, and our dashboard. Ontop of all those things they did the front end development for all of that!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Amazing, they used Evernote to manage each project and give the status of where it was at and what approvals were needed and what feedback was given, they communicated amazingly, anytime I needed a question answered they would respond even if it was the middle of night.

They were amazingly organized and kept all the old projects together.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of work, to be honest many people in the USA have some kind of stigma on using foreign countries to outsource work because some believe that they don't have the quality or work ethic that the Americans have, but I find it just the opposite.

They worked weekends to finish our jobs, and delivered designs that look like something apples marketing team would take months to come up with

Nope, communication was everything I could have wanted, the quality was mind blowing, the organization is amazing, everything done on links with a project manager keeping everything up to date and every small request we wanted they did not forget about anything we asked for even when we did!

Now not even 50% of the design is finished and they do not move forward anymore and removed the whole communication in slack.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with an agency from abroad.

We had to pay 80% of the money upfront, otherwise they would not give us access to the Figma files.

They even threatened us to do a negative review online and wanted to force us to sign a contract where we would be forbidden to do a review in exchange for the existing design files.

They say that they are 50 employees but they are only 26. They try to make you think they are a big US company but they work only remotely form India.
