Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

They did a bad job and left my website incomplete. Links that were there got eventually deleted during the build and it took them over 8 months to "finish", time in which I was in constant communication with them and they delayed on getting things done. I had to ask several times and they will still not complete the job.

They continue having errors, I could not even test one purchase with the Lulu integration even up until March,2023 and the check out had to be fixed several times, they could not even get that basic part done right. Took them months after several requests to even add Paypal to my checkout options and Sumit kept giving me the excuse that he could not log in to my paypal (but he had logged in before, just could not log in the very last time).

I have a lot of records of the several times I requested things to get done and they did not. I had even drawn how I wanted things to look on my site and they did nothing about it. I was so stressed out by the unprofessional person with whom I did the contract with, They did not know what they were doing. Please go ahead and look at my website as it was left.

It is not SEO friendly. I could say much more but there is not enough space on here for that. Just go look at the website and that speaks for itself.s

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Absolutely nothing. I would never recommend them to anyone. They do not know anything about being creative or designing a website. My website is useless! I will have to pay someone else to fix the whole thing for me before I can even do anything with it. Go ahead and check it out: www.emedialy.com

Are there any areas for improvement or something Dotup Technology Consulting could have done differently?

yes, they could have build me a usable website and taken less than 8 months to finish. They still had things to fix even then and now they do not want to do anything else. I was told to go and find another developer to do the job! They do not do the job.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dotup is doing custom software development and AI integration for us using the PHP language. After a thorough research process, they’ve been in charge of everything from design to development and algorithm creation. 

One of the products is a platform for a Legion company where the system, based on questions, allocates clients to certain sectors. Inside the system, specialized vendors reach out to users via email with the information they might be interested in based on the inquiries they submit to the platform. After that, the vendor can accept the request and pay the system a referral fee. 

The second platform is an algorithm that helps clients increase their credit scores, which has been accepted by TransUnion and in the mortgage and insurance industry. This allows clients to improve their scores to get loans, rentals, and jobs.

What was the team composition? 

We’ve worked with their HR department and their development team. Privacy is very important to us, so the number of people that know the whole process of development of this software is limited.

How did you come to work with Dotup?

Someone referred them to me for website development, which evolved into a solid partnership. Through time they’ve helped me build a business plan, market research, and technology products. We chose them for this project because they’re honest, very discrete, and have guided me on the right path.

How much have you invested in them?

So far, we've spent $500,000–$800,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve done about 30 demos in Canada, the US, and Africa, and we’ve received positive feedback from everybody. People have pointed out the quality of the work, the knowledge behind it, and how everything fits together, so Dotup has exceeded our expectations.

How did Dotup perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve used WhatsApp, emails, and Zoom as communication tools.

They’ve been able to come up with great innovative ideas to build a unique product, which impressed me.

Have a diagram of what you want to achieve and what you want to build inside and out so they can understand your needs.

I’m the owner of B.O.S.S. Agency Digital Marketing. Our services include website development, online optimization, custom commercials production, photography, branding, graphic design, logo design, and other services related to marketing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dotup is our dedicated web development team. They help us design and develop WordPress websites for our clients from scratch and integrate them with WooCommerce based on client specifications. We design those websites for SEO purposes by bringing up the proper content and designing a mobile- and user-friendly UI/UX.

We work with Venkatesh (Director of IT) and Sumit (CEO).

How did you come to work with Dotup?

Venkatesh was staying at a crash pad in San Francisco; he was here temporarily. A friend of mine owns that place, and Venkatesh was working on a web development project for him. Therefore, I met him through my friend, and we started bonding because I used to be a project manager as well.

At the time, I was looking for a partner who could help me be competitive on the web development side of my business cost-wise. After talking about my needs with Venkatesh, we decided to work together and create a business relationship.

We’ve spent around $100,000.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our clients have been extremely happy with the sites Dotup has helped us build for them. One of the companies we’ve developed a website for has expanded their team from 3–6 members due to the results driven by the great website design we achieved. Although I was in charge of that site’s Google optimization, Dotup’s work also helped drive a lot of leads to it.

How did Dotup perform from a project management standpoint?

Dotup delivers their work on time and responds to my needs almost immediately. We collaborate virtually via Zoom, WhatsApp, and ClickUp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Dotup is very technical and understands how to develop websites on multiple platforms if needed. Moreover, they’re great at helping us develop websites using custom apps, and they’re extremely knowledgeable in the development process.
