We own and operate a portfolio of Shopify e-commerce stores called Famous Luxe.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dojo Labs?

We needed to deploy a self-hosted AI agent to automate customer support triage, order inquiries, and internal operations workflows across our Shopify stores to reduce manual workload and response times without locking us into expensive SaaS tools.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dojo Labs has designed and deployed a custom multi-agent AI system for us, built to operate across our portfolio of Shopify stores. The system has been architected from the ground up around our specific operational needs rather than being a repackaged off-the-shelf tool.

The main deliverables include:

• Custom AI architecture: a multi-agent setup with persistent memory and reasoning layers, deployed on dedicated infrastructure we control, with sub-second response times across most query types.
• E-commerce integration layer: direct connectivity into our Shopify backend across 6+ stores, allowing the system to access live order, customer, and product data in real time.
• Multi-channel access: integrations into Slack, Discord, and our email/helpdesk stack so the system is embedded into the tools the team already uses, with no context switching required.
• Tailored capability modules: purpose-built modules covering customer support and order inquiries, internal team assistance, product research and sourcing workflows, and general operations automation. Each module is scoped against our actual day-to-day workflows.
• Long-term memory and context: a persistent memory layer that carries context across conversations, channels, and team members, so the system gets sharper over time rather than starting from zero each session.
• Stabilization and tuning: post-launch debugging, performance tuning, and reliability work to keep the system production-ready under real load.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since deploying the system, we've seen meaningful improvements across both customer-facing and internal operations:

• Customer support response time has dropped significantly. What used to take our team hours during peak periods is now handled in seconds for the majority of routine inquiries (order status, product questions, shipping updates).
• ~60–70% of incoming support queries are now triaged or fully resolved by the AI layer before reaching a human, freeing up the team to focus on higher-complexity issues and escalations.
• Faster internal lookups. Instead of team members manually digging through Shopify dashboards across multiple stores, they pull live order, customer, and product data through Slack/Discord in seconds.
• Operational scalability. We've been able to expand the store portfolio without proportionally growing the support headcount, which directly impacts margins.
• Reduced SaaS spend. By consolidating capabilities into a single self-hosted system, we've eliminated the need for multiple overlapping subscriptions (helpdesk AI add-ons, support automation tools, etc.).

Before deploying the system, the average first-response time on customer inquiries was roughly 4–6 hours during business hours and significantly longer outside of them since support was being handled manually across multiple stores. After deployment, routine inquiries (order status, shipping, product questions) are now acknowledged and often fully resolved within seconds, and the average first-response time across all inquiries has dropped to under five minutes. Complex or escalated tickets still go to a human, but the AI layer absorbs the bulk of the volume upfront, which is where most of the time savings come from.

On the SaaS side, we've been able to cut or avoid roughly $400–$600/month in subscription costs by consolidating support automation, helpdesk AI add-ons, and a couple of overlapping tools into the single self-hosted system Dojo Labs has built. On the workforce side, the AI layer absorbs the bulk of routine inquiries across our stores, which means we've been able to grow the portfolio without adding proportional support headcount — conservatively, that's the equivalent of 1–2 full-time support roles we'd otherwise have needed to hire. Combined, we estimate the system is saving us in the low five figures annually, with the gap widening as we add more stores and workflows to it.

How did Dojo Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management has been direct and lightweight, which suits us. Mubashir (Founder & CEO) handles communication himself and keeps it async-friendly — updates land in Slack/email when promised, blockers are flagged early instead of being buried, and timelines are honest rather than padded. There isn't a heavy formal process layered on top, but for a project of this scope, that works in our favor — less overhead, faster iteration.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about Dojo Labs is their technical depth combined with how grounded the team is in actual business outcomes. A lot of agencies in the AI space right now are essentially reselling OpenAI wrappers — they'll demo something flashy, but the moment you push on the architecture or ask them to debug something below the API layer, it falls apart. Dojo Labs is the opposite. Mubashir clearly understands the internals of how these systems work, and he treats AI deployments like real engineering projects rather than marketing exercises.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Dojo Labs has helped us take AlignDrift from concept to a fully functional SaaS AI platform. We’ve launched a working product with end-to-end functionality, enabling real-world use, product validation, and initial user onboarding.While we’re just now launching the platform, Dojo Labs has enabled us to fully test the product with internal users and early adopters. 
We’ve been able to validate core functionality, confirm the end-to-end UX, and gather feedback that has positioned us for a confident and aggressive rollout.
Internal users and early adopters have consistently highlighted the platform’s ease of use, the clarity of the analysis, and the practical value of the insights. The feedback has confirmed that users can quickly understand the outputs and apply them in a meaningful way, which has given us confidence that the platform is ready for rollout.

Overall, the experience has been very strong. As with any development project, there are always small areas where timelines or details can be refined, but nothing that impacts the outcome. Dojo Labs is responsive, adaptable, and addresses feedback quickly, so there are no meaningful gaps in execution.
