GNO International Image

GNO International

GNO International needed a website, backend admin, shopping cart for services, contact center, and CRM integrations.

We continue to work with GNO International on an ongoing basis.

Drop Shop Digital LLC Image

Drop Shop Digital LLC

Drop Shop Digital LLC wanted a custom website built. After presenting some templates, the owner decided to go with a design made completely from scratch. He chose the look he was going for and we were happy to tweak the website until it was just what he wanted.

We also ended up building out a backend admin panel to control different features, pages on the site, and the customer portal for the feature "Lightbox". Lightbox

allows users to sign-up or continue as a guest to save images on the site into a cart that can be viewed and updated at a later date. Users can reserve a backdrop on the site and receive confirmation within 48 hours.

Thanks to the solution, the internal team spent less time answering common questions that the pre-canned answers could solve. This allowed them to focus on other tasks instead. Diverse Programmers, LLC was technically skilled, showing experience in PHP, EC2 instances, FAQ JSON, and more.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

IT Director

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We needed a solution that would integrate with our existing ticketing system. We first had to establish a connection between AWS and our firewall using a VPN tunnel in a designated VPC.

They then built a PHP application on an EC2 instance that made API calls to our on premises ticketing server to pull out relevant user information or to create one if they did not already exist.

Then the user could select categories from the ticketing system and Diverse Programmers also made a FAQ JSON file that we could update with pre-canned answers. If the question was answered, the ticket closes. If the pre-canned answer did not satisfy the user, a chat is routed to our staff to answer the call manually.

What were your goals for this project?

To create a chat help desk on AWS that integrates with our on premises ticketing system.

SOLUTION

How did you select Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We found them while researching Amazon Connect and the chat system. James was found on the home page of Amazon Connect for AWS.

Describe the project in detail.

They developed the application for asking the questions, created the FAQ, and customized Amazon Connect to open a chat window if the answer was not satisfactory. They helped with the tunnel between AWS through our firewall to on-premises and wrote the API calls to our existing ticketing system.

What was the team composition?

We primarily worked with James, but also had a chance to work with one of their network engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We do not have to field as many calls and we can see which pre-canned answers are working and which need more updates. This allows our staff to focus on other tasks instead of fielding questions all day.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were great. Had a few follow-ups and they got the main project done.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are skilled technically and were able to integrate with our existing systems.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They are sometimes hard to get on the phone, but responded in an hour or two to most emails and calls.

Call Center Manager

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Diverse Programmers, LLC, and what were your goals?

We wanted to see if we could switch over from Five9 to AWS. We have a lot of users and were not sure what you could accomplish with Amazon Connect, but heard a lot of great things about it. We found James from Diverse Programmers on the front page and did our research with him.

We were pleased to hear they could support our needs and even integrate a pop-up call solution in Salesforce. We wanted to explore our options in switching from Five9 to AWS. With over 200 users, we were not sure if this would be a good move.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found James on the AWS network and decided to reach out on Diverse Programmers’ website.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

James went over our current Five9 setup and then came back with a plan to build a similar solution using Amazon Connect, Lambda, DynamoDB, and even integrated directly into Salesforce which was an upgrade. We are very pleased with our call center as we have more functionality with the integration, dynamic outbound calls, and a lower monthly cost.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We primarily interacted with James who is the founder and lead architect and Diverse Programmers. We also spoke with a network engineer that tied back into our office network.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The pop-ups in Salesforce that are tied with Amazon Connect and the dynamic outbound has helped in our contact rates, number of dials, and appointments.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They divided the project into milestones. Once they got the basic flow put together they made sure to go through everything with us, make the changes as needed, and then set up our users. The communication throughout the process was great.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I always knew we were in good hands.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their main phone number isn’t always answered. But, if I sent an email to our contact, we would receive a response within an hour or two.

What were your goals for this project?

We need a customized mobile application for our warehouse workers. Big buttons and easy to use.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found them in a local search for app developers in Seattle and liked James’ helpfulness from the start, so decided to go with them.

Describe the project in detail.

They helped us go over options like whether we wanted to use a mobile template or have the custom designed from scratch. We opted for a mobile template and they built it out for us on Amazon Web Services. They helped us deliver an enterprise deployment so we can quickly add the app to new company tablets and phones.

What was the team composition?

I interacted with James at the beginning and each milestone.

BACKGROUND

Product Manager

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We needed a meeting application solution that would be both reliable and cost-effective.

What were your goals for this project?

After comparing pricing between the Amazon Chime SDK and Zoom, we decided to go with AWS based on our use case. We found Diverse Programmers, LLC while searching and decided to go with them. James gave us our options upfront and helped us confirm the pricing with the AWS Chime team.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found them on Amazon Web Services on the home page on Amazon Connect. After doing more research on them and a couple of other companies, we reached out directly. James was very knowledgable and helped us navigate pricing and some of our concerns before evening signing the contract.

Describe the project in detail.

They helped us figure out the pricing to see if it would be better to go with the Zoom SDK or AWS Chime SDK based on our needs. They then build a solution with a few additional requests for our company communications.

What was the team composition?

I primarily interacted with James. He followed up at each milestone along the way and was very knowledgable. His team was able to get this done quickly and we are very pleased with the results.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our company and users are happy with the quality of the meetings which is exactly what we expected on Amazon Chime.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

James followed up at each milestone to go over the progress of the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They nailed it out of the gate. Answered our questions in regards to pricing and which route to go with our use case. The turn-around time was quick.

Are there any areas for improvement?

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Clinical Trial Manager at a medical start up with a Masters in Clinical Research from UCSD.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We needed help extracting data from tens of thousands of PDFs we scanned in by hand.

What were your goals for this project?

We had lots of paperwork of medical trials that we needed to scan in and found Diverse Programmers on Amazon. They published a case study he wrote using their services for another customer and we had similar requirements.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found them on Amazon Web Services. James was the first to respond to our case and when we clicked on his profile, we realized Amazon had published a case study written by him with a customer on AWS that had the same problem as we did! His prices were reasonable, so without hesitation, we went with him.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

They were able to extract the data with minimal errors and had alerted us that the change in data structures this would be the case. We had to manually scan after, but this saved us hundreds of man hours manually entering everything in.

What was the team composition?

I worked with James and after explaining what we wanted, he threw together a quick test within an hour to make sure we were happy with the results (a little over 99% accuracy) and we decided to move forward.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We knew approximately how long it would take to manually enter the data in and after weighing out the cost and use of employees time, we decided to save some money and time by going with Diverse Programmers. The manual adjustments for quality assurance were minimal in comparison.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They broke everything down into milestones. We liked that we could pay at each milestone instead of something like half or all up front.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed that Amazon published their case study on AWS and they have been doing a great job.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We haven’t had any complaints to date.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the marketing manager for a mortgage company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We are looking to expand our operations and needed technical expertise to help guide our infrastructure.

What were your goals for this project?

We want to look our website unique and attractive.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found them on Amazon Web Services. We had a few responses, but went with Diverse Programmers because of their expertise and they were recommending things for us before even starting the engagement. It looks like Diverse Programmers has also been recognized by AWS a few times with publications and at their annual re:Invent conference.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Diverse Programmers helped guide and recommend services based on what we were looking to accomplish. We needed an updated phone system and a new website with an admin panel for handling inquires and document uploads on our site. This was also integrated with our CRM and Calyx Point for loan origination and uses InkIt for signatures.

What was the team composition?

I primarily worked with James, but we were assigned a small dedicated team that finished the initial project in about 2 and a half months.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Some of our repeat clients have commented on the new look of our website (last one was about 10 years old). The 1003 on our website, paired with the upload document portal and being integrated with our CRM and Calyx Point has saved us time and cut down on repeating entries and typos.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

James broke the project down into milestones and followed up with us regularly and at each milestone before proceeding to the next.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am impressed by their technical knowledge and expertise. James offered us several different routes based on time, budget, and other trade-offs which made us feel more comfortable and that we could save money on certain processes.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I don’t really have any complaints about Diverse Programmers. Maybe an answering services for the phones, but I always get a prompt response if I don’t get through to them and leave a message.

Internal stakeholders are impressed with Diverse Programmers’ wide range of capabilities, admitting they extend far past the requirements of this project. The team delivered the right solution for business needs, increasing organic traffic and remaining transparent and communicative along the way.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of Drop Shop Digital. We make backdrops for film and television shows and have worked on several major motion pictures. We take pictures and maintain an online inventory of digital images. The studio builds a live-scale movie set on a soundstage, and the prints are what’s seen outside a window, for example.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Diverse Programmers, LLC?

My original website had been built at a low cost and had very few functionalities. It was very basic, and served me well until my image inventory began to grow. A hired another development team to build out the site in WordPress to house that inventory, but the engagement failed.

Eventually, the site was hacked into, and I realized we needed a custom website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Diverse Programmers built my custom website using Simple Grid. They built it from the ground up, a complete overhaul. The team originally wanted to go with a couple of templates, but I had a specific style in mind. The team built the code for a panoramic stitching program, which is required for the photos we take. They also structured a catalog with a query function, so users could search locations and other keywords.

Once the site was built, Diverse Programmers provided me with a copywriter, who helped me go over our content and hone in on some of the wording.

What is the team composition?

I worked with James (Founder and CTO), and the copywriter.

How did you come to work with Diverse Programmers, LLC?

I found them through Amazon. I did some research and learned about Amazon’s CloudFront and their CDN network, then I started going into more in-depth research about what Amazon had to offer as far as web development. I eventually created an AWS profile and posted the job. James responded, and we began our engagement from there.

How much have you invested with them?

The initial quote was around $10,000, and we ended up at around $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in December 2019. Diverse Programmers finished the initial work, but they still provide support on an ongoing basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We don’t have a lot of metrics. Diverse Programmers offered to install analytics, but I declined.

When the website launched, we didn’t make a formal announcement immediately. It was up for a month or two, and I noticed that my customers were already using the site. Organic traffic has increased, which speaks to the improvement in the site’s look and functionality.

How did Diverse Programmers, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

James was clear with his communication, met his deadlines, the price add-ons were noted, and he followed through with everything he promised.

The web development project was beneath James’ skillset. He’s excellent at what he does, and his capabilities extend far beyond what my project required. I’m confident that if I approach him with a question, he’ll have an answer.

I was really impressed with how well and quickly he was able to write the panoramic stitching code. It showed he can do far more than just web development, and that he has knowledge of a wide range of tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Diverse Programmers is not another average development company. They’re able to deliver far more than what’s expected in a hands-on experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any heavy critique about Diverse Programmers, except for the fact that they should listen to the customer and find out what they want before they start the job, and draft the rest of the job in accordance with that. I felt there was a bit of push back and forth in the beginning, just to get on the same page about what it was that I wanted.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’d tell them to not hold back. Working with Diverse Programmers is worth every penny. If they’re looking for a cheap solution, there are a lot of them out there. If they’re looking for the right solution, then I’d use someone like Diverse Programmers.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a data analyst for GNO International, an accounting and bookkeeping online service.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We needed a platform that would be accessible to our customers. Security was our number one priority.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The scope started as building this website and portal for our customers. The first website was hosted to GoDaddy, and Diverse Programmers, LLC migrated it to AWS and FileZilla. They used a PHP and HTML template with some custom code. There are two portals: one for customers and one for admin. Customers can upload and download financial statements, and we can upload their profit and loss balance sheet for seamless online bookkeeping. It also used authorized .NET as the payment method. We also had some sandbox accounts so we could play with it first.

As the relationship progress, Diverse Programmers, LLC offered their services to our VoIP system, which we wanted to integrate as well. The system was custom-made and worked efficiently, unlike the work of developers we’d previously worked with.

What is the team composition?

We only work with James (CTO & Solutions Architect, Diverse Programmers, LLC).

How did you come to work with Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We originally had heard of AWS IQ, a platform for developers to bid on projects. I uploaded our project and heard from a bunch of different developers. We started talking with James and found to be a real honest guy and the most knowledgeable person. That led us to work with him for this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started in August 2019 and is ongoing. I was just on the phone with James a few days ago.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

His work boosted our sales by 10%

How did Diverse Programmers, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

He’s always there for us when we need to reach out. He’s punctual at getting everything done on time. What differentiates him from others is that he really makes sure we understand everything that he’s doing. He’s taken the time to sit down with me remotely and lead a session to train me on managing the system — showing me where the data is stored and how to access the files.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Diverse Programmers, LLC has reliable, trustworthy, and genuine people. It means a lot for our sense of security to have a developer that we can trust.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything is exactly how we want it to be.

Any advice for potential customers?

Just be honest and map out the project in the beginning so that Diverse Programmers, LLC can have a good understanding of what needs to be done.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a partner of a livestream vlogging startup. Users of our platform can live stream private videos to viewers of their choice.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Diverse Programmers, LLC?

We needed them to create a mobile app from scratch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Diverse Programmers, LLC handles the design and development of our app. First, we gave them our main ideas, some suggestions, and the expectations then they took over and got to work. After giving us several options, we decided to go with API because it's in my team’s best interest for cost and functionality.

We recently completed phase one of the project. The basic functionality of the app is that it functions as a vlogging tool. Users can live stream their private life and share interesting feeds with viewers.

Acting as a host, a user creates a channel and gives access to a maximum of four people. These viewers can then watch the host’s livestreamed videos. The app allows the host and their viewers to communicate through push notifications. Everything happens in real-time.

What is the team composition?

James (Founder, Diverse Programmers, LLC) is my main point of contact. I know there’s another teammate, but I haven’t really spoken to him.

How did you come to work with Diverse Programmers, LLC?

I was searching for developers through the AWS IQ program. After reading reviews about their listed experts, Diverse Programmers, LLC stood out as one of the top options. I put out an RFP for several programmers and selected them in the end.

How much have you invested with them?

At this point, I’ve invested around $10,000. This will change as the app grows.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership began in December 2019, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything looks great so far. James is easy to work with and his services are top-notch. I don’t have any problems or anything negative to say about the engagement. The work isn’t finished yet, we just started the second phase.

How did Diverse Programmers, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communication skills are great. We correspond through e-mail, phone calls, and video calls. If I text James, he responds right away. He has managed the project very well so far. Throughout the day, he proactively communicates what they need from me or asks if I need anything from them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really like the cost of this project. From the beginning, James’ cost-benefit rates have been a main driving force of our partnership. In addition to that, he’s very knowledgeable about app development. He’s put me at ease throughout our entire engagement. James is forthcoming and very helpful. He educates and teaches me what I need to do and understand.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they can improve on right now. Until we have the final product, I can’t really finalize my opinion. Everything is going well right now.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to start the engagement fully prepared in terms of what you need. Write down everything you need so you’ll know how much the project will cost. There are no surprises if you know exactly what you’re looking for.

For example, there’s a feature I currently want to include but because of cost, I’m holding back until the second version of the platform launches.
