Please describe your company and your position there.

I was Executive Manager at Fablab Moldova. This Hub represents a digital fabrication laboratory, a place to create, mentor, and innovate. Here engineers come together to share knowledge and work for a common goal: promoting the Engineering field.

For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Phoenix, and what were your goals?

My team wanted to create a user-friendly and very informative website for Fablab which will contain our core services and products, future & past events. We wanted to create a unique place to gather all the resources that can be helpful for engineering enthusiasts. Because Fablab is an international project, we wanted to support multi-languages.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Digital Phoenix applied to FabLab tender. The core management team has chosen their offer is based on more factors: the use of modern technologies, interactive user interface options, great experience in the field, good price, and value evaluation, standing out from the other applicants.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We made a brainstorming session and discussed the main functionality that we wanted to see on this platform. After the deadline was set, we confirmed the deliverability. Digital Phoenix created for us a special server to test each delivered sprint, thus, we ensured that we avoid scope creep. We have a public side for our customers & private side for administrator & editors. The project was developed with Angular on the front & Java on the backend.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

All the communication was done via the project manager. Even though in the development process a full team was involved (backend, frontend & QA specialists)

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The results were even better than we expected. The FabLab web platform looks very good & progressive. Animations make the user interaction more interesting and the performance of the product makes the UX as good as possible. The project was done in terms of which we agreed with Digital Phoenix.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We agreed on a Product Roadmap and used Google Meets to communicate & analyze the progress of product development. The team used Agile/Scrum methodology & JIRA for task management.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Empathy & flexibility. At the project initiation phase, our team agreed on some user flows and functionalities that didn't represent the best solution. The Digital Phoenix team helped us to identify all the gaps and adjust some functionalities to create the best user experience on our platform. They guided us in choosing the best solution, and we were beyond grateful for their inputs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Development flow was going in the best way possible. We would not change anything.

I am head of IT department, we build custom software solution for different countries around the world.

We wanna build a custom fin-tech dashboard for our customers. The main challenge for our clients was generating of invoices in different languages and keep track of their expenses.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They offer a good combination between quality & price. They didn't use CMS or some builders which offer you result in a couple of days. They foresee different scenarios and our app was scalable & easy maintainable.

They created 3 separates apps, 2 of them was on Angular and another on Java Spring. They called these applications like (landing, frontend, backend). Landing was an Angular app integrated with Angular Universal for better SEO and marketing wise. Frontend was for internal use, after user logged in system they can access dashboard and use it in full speed. Backend represent API for building and integrating with other 2 apps.

There were a team of 4 person. Project manager, Frontend developer, Backend developer, QA.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Because we worked agile and split all features to sprints. Bi-weekly we saw updates and progress. We launched in terms in which we planned. Guys also integrate Sentry for error logging. Also application support responsiveness & cross browsering.

The management was on high level. We used Agile/Scrum. For communication we used Slack, for task management JIRA. We had weekly kick off's with whole team and can check progress and solve blockers.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive was their team professionalism. When we had debates about some functionalities they offered a bunch of solutions and explains all pros & cons for every implementation. We saved a lot of energy and money because of their honesty & professionalism.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Always exists place for improvement and for this company I will suggest to not forget about documentation. After our hand over session we had some questions which we thought we will find answer in documentation. But because this documentation was poor we contacted company's project manager directly and solve our needs.
