BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

Centurion Movement is my passion project, and I’m building it up over the next couple of years. The goal of this project is to help people become “Centurions.” It’s a word I’m using to refer to a person who’s a hundred years old but is also healthy, mobile, fun, adventurous, and young in mind and heart. This project ties in with a bio-informatics type of tech startup that I’m working in as well.

The thesis behind Centurion is to help people find things they can do adventurously and that can light them up and give them energy. It helps them do the things they like in a sustainable way over the rest of their lives. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Nomad Designs?

The biggest reason I hired Ariana (Owner) was to build a landing page. I had an idea of what I wanted to put out in the world, but I realized I didn’t know specifically how I wanted to frame or design it. The business challenges were knowing what the site was going to look like, how I was going to present it, what language it would use, and what the creative assets were. 

I wanted something that I could show to people if I needed to. I wasn’t going to drive a huge amount of traffic from it, so it wasn’t something that I needed to promote or market. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I wanted to tell a story through our website. That was the most important thing. Upon visiting the site, users would see an elder gentleman at the top of the page. If they scrolled down, it would explain what Centurion meant. Further down, it would show a section about lifespan and “healthspan.”

They took over the whole creative design process. I came in with only a story to tell, and they did everything else. I had some sketches on a piece of paper, and they came back with an early mockup of pretty much everything users could see on the website. We made a few small tweaks, and Ariana built everything else out from there.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with Ariana, but she had some help from her team members, including designers. She was my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Digital Nomad Designs?

I heard great things about Ariana. I was in an entrepreneurial community of people, and she was always recommended when people needed some website work to be done. Based on other people’s positive experiences, I decided to reach out to her and she was able to take on the project. 

How much have you invested with them?

I spent $750 on the landing page. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from June–July 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The biggest success metric I had was whether I could share the website with people who were asking about the project. All I wanted was for Centurion to exist on the web. It became real and I could send people to it — this made me very happy. 

Ariana took on all of the business challenges, and she made things truly easy for me. The mockups she gave were also different from what I first thought the site was going to look like, but they were much better. Above all, they accomplished my goals, and I was truly happy with them. 

How did Digital Nomad Designs perform from a project management standpoint?

From my end, the experience was easy and conversational. I communicated with Ariana through Zoom, where I went over what I wanted. Within a week or so, she sent me the mockups. She was super responsive, and whenever I needed to make changes, she was always there. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was easy to work with them, and they had high-quality designs. I’ve worked with other website design agencies in my day job and in the nonprofits that my family works with, and I was personally impressed with Digital Nomad Designs’ uniqueness. I wouldn’t have thought of the site’s design by myself, but I was happy with what they did. I loved the way it turned out. They provided unique designs that matched the goals of my project. 

Ariana was also easy to work with. She even helped me learn how to use WordPress in a much better way. She took me through a tutorial on how the site was built out and how to use the page builder. She wanted the whole thing to be easy for me as her client. This trait and the quality of their design were their best attributes. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. Everything on their end was awesome.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Engage them with a goal of what you want to do, what you want to build, and why you want to build it. If you have those ready, Digital Nomad will be able to build exactly what you want. If you’re a bit unsure of what your goal is, they can also help you. That was where I was, and they helped me craft a story and figure out how I should present it. It would have been easier for us if I came in with a very clear goal from the start.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Marketing Director at a company that does full scale apparel production and fulfillment for all manners of brands and businesses. The company offers services such as screen printing, embroidery, fulfillment, customer service, product development, branding packages, webstore buildouts, etc.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Nomad Designs?

We have worked with Digital Nomad for a couple of different projects so far (and intend to for many more projects in the future). We coordinate the buildout and planning of websites and e-commerce platforms for different brands and companies, but Ari with Digital Nomad brings it all to life.

Digital Nomad handles everything from the backend to the visuals of the user experience. We provide product details, creative content, and any logos/branding but they handle everything with the website buildout, backend SEO, etc. --- and it's all consistent with the branding outlines/vision provided.

What were your goals for this project?

The projects so far have been huge in delivering on promises to clients that we can build out not only the products for their brand or business as well as the logistics of shipping and customer service but also the platform where the business can sell those products and showcase their brand or business.That's the basis of the project goals in working with Digital Nomad so far.

As I mentioned, we've worked with them on a couple projects so far and the goals have been met flawlessly. The e-commerce websites built by Digital Nomad have been beautiful, highly functional, and seamless to coordinate building out.

SOLUTION

How did you select Digital Nomad Designs?

Ari of Digital Nomads was a known contact through our CEO and the initial discovery was through that connection. The inclination was to go through Digital Nomad based on that connection, but the portfolio on their website was the official deciding factor as their completed works are incredibly impressive. The executive team and myself were all in agreement to use Digital Nomad for our web development and design projects.

Describe the project in detail.

The process has been similar for all projects so far --- In the initial stages of the project, our team had sent over an email to Digital Nomad and then a call was schedule to discuss more of the details or review any elements that may have posed a question. Then within a week (typically a couple days at most), there's a full outline of the steps of the project alongside a timeline quote and price quote so that every element of the project and what to expect is transparent.

Each grouping of components to work on in the project are grouped together and there's a checkin with each to make sure the direction of the project is lining up with the original outline and communications. Everything is communicated, everything is transparent, and even if revisions are needed, they are incredibly communicative and adaptable throughout the process.

Our team provides product details, photos of the products, how many pages are needed, what level of design and detail is needed overall, and the creative content such as imagery and logos as well as general brand feel. Digital Nomad for the projects we've commissioned, building out websites that are also e-commerce stores.

What was the team composition?

For the previous projects, I've only worked with Ari --- in logistics and communication.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I don't have any formal KPIs or metrics to list in terms of success, but the projects have been met with resounding praise from the clients. The projects/sites have also been the talk of the office from the Brand Management and Marketing teams especially.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I feel like the workflow was as effective as it could be. Again, Digital Nomad was adaptable with any changes or additions that came up, and Ari provided a wide window of communication times via phone and email that I feel added tremendously to the entire process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was consistently impressed by their level of knowledge and experience in delivering on the full look of a brand. From an outline and a phone call being able to build out a full site that is visually aligned with the aesthetic of the brand and what will appeal to the target audience. Digital Nomad Designs is incredibly professional, talented, and easy to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I don't have any critiques!
