I’m the VP of engineering and CTO at CENTRL Inc. We have a suite of risk management products that help companies adhere to GDPR in Europe and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in the U.S. We deploy an intercompany network, so that instead of companies having to go to multiple locations to fill out various questionnaires, they can use a single platform to store their privacy and vendor risk information.

Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd is our offshore development partner. They provide end-to-end development support, including design and architecture, production, QA, and code implementation.

They’ve developed different parts of our platform. The biggest feature they’ve built is our assessments and questionnaires module. Users can create detailed questionnaires online and add a question bank, weight and score the questionnaires, put in a workflow around how to route the questions, etc.

Since our work often includes sensitive data, such as the questionnaires, Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd adheres to privacy standards and frameworks. They’ve also implemented multiple third-party frameworks and technologies into our code, such as Sisense and Angular.

We work with eighteen developers and eleven QA specialists. My team also worked with a project manager, who oversees our partnership.

Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd came on board when we were a startup with zero customers, and they’ve helped us build the company from scratch. Because of how well they work and how clean their code is, they’ve been a big part of our company growth. For instance, they were instrumental in designing and coding our assessments and questionnaires module. They understand that since we’re a smaller company, it’s critical to do things quickly and the right way. If we didn’t follow that process, we wouldn’t have the customers we have today. Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd has done a great job of putting out quality work.

Also, when I work with an offshore company, I generally expect that I’ll need to spend a lot of time on the phone walking the developers through things. However, I only spend about six hours each week giving Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd’s developers direction, and then they roll out the work themselves.

The team is very professional and deadline-driven. If any issues arise, they communicate them immediately. We use Jira.

The most impressive part about Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd is their team. Dhiraj (CEO and Founder, Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd) and his employees are top-notch. They’re capable of explaining what they’re doing, and they’re very trustworthy. I know that if I give them a task, they will get it done.

This isn’t necessarily negative feedback, but they should try not to burn out on longer engagements.

Treat them as an extension of your development team, and everything will go well. You should be transparent with them and give them lots of information, which they’ll run with.

They have robust strengths in the mobile app arena. From the design phase to the final delivery of the mobile app, it was excellent. Our customers love the mobile app. Seventy percent of our customers use the mobile app, and only 30% are using our web app. The web app is great, as well. They’re excellent in product design.

The project manager was marvelous. They gave us accurate timelines, and most of the time, they were on time and within budget. Their strengths are design and technology. Project management is good, but it could have been better. They could have used tools instead of just emails.

I found them to be on the expensive side. They also could improve project management.

We needed someone to develop our website and mobile app. We were looking for a vendor who could do the heavy lifting without much intervention from our side.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd is designing, developing, and creating the architecture for our website and mobile app. They are doing the database design and links to our existing platform. They are also crafting the UI/UX and developing both desktop and mobile version. They’re now in the progress of coding. They used .NET and Microsoft technologies. We’re integrating with the new app that they’re developing.

We plan to have a thousand teachers across India use our app. On one side, students can post to their questions the form of text or video. Teachers can access student questions on a real-time basis based on their profile and their preferences. They can choose to reply to some of those questions and effectively earn money out of the service.

Dew Solutions Pvt Ltd built the site and app from scratch after a month of planning and ideation. We had specific preferences in terms of how the UI/UX should appear so that it would be in complete synchronization with our existing product. We wanted the user experience to be seamless for the teacher and student.
