BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of Pirani Life, Inc., a company that sells insulated stainless steel drinkware.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with DevIT?

We needed DevIT to build a customizer for our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DevIT has built a Shopify app that allows users to enter text or upload an image and generate renderings on our cups of what it would look like. The team has also worked on connecting the app to a CDN and delivering it via Imgix.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with a developer, a project manager, a lead developer, and a salesperson.

How did you come to work with DevIT?

I found DevIT on Upwork. I spent a month and a half interviewing different developers. I had worked with developers in India and Pakistan in the past, but this specific project needed to be perfect, and I had heard amazing things about Ukrainian developers.

After narrowing the options down to three, I chose DevIT because of their price and because they had a pretty big team. During our calls, their developer seemed really capable of problem-solving, which was critical for this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2025, and the engagement is ongoing. We’ve already launched the MVP, but we’re still working on the backlog parts of the project.

DevIT has delivered the MVP perfectly and on schedule. We needed the app to work by the beginning of August 2025, and it did. The app is amazing.

DevIT built an enterprise-grade application for AI-based content development. The application included a central dashboard to track content orders, "order details" pages where clients could view, discuss, add tags to and cancel orders, a custom CRM, authentication, automated notifications, and many more features. Key deliverables included an order form, a unified dashboard, an account details section, and a drag-and-drop internal template builder for our team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The team (led by Anna H.) delivered every deliverable on time, often proactively setting their own deadlines. They developed advanced and often custom features that we asked for (such as an interactive "document builder", custom UI components, and a built-in CMS) without compromising on quality and with what seemed like no effort at all. Most of all, Anna advocated for our team and our product like it was her own.

Excitement for our product and affordability. We often discussed how we had a secret weapon at our belt - Anna tackled just about anything we threw at her with a level of buy-in we had previously only seen within our own team.
And affordability - for every one dollar we put in, we felt like we were getting three back.

Are there any areas for improvement or something DevIT could have done differently?

DevIT has some great talent onboard and the processes they have in place are obviously working very well. We were very happy with the service we received.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Karina was my main project manager. All items were delivered on time and they were very accommodating to my ongoing changes along the way. They provided me with constant updates along the way and gave me access to Jira which meant I could look at the exact progress of the project. Any questions I had were answered within hours - even on weekends! Cannot fault them.

What was your primary form of communication with DevIT?

Email or Messaging App

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I first reached out to DevIT about developing a web app for a new business venture. I appreciated that they seemed as enthusiastic about the initiative and its potential as I did. I had a designer from a separate firm produce the designs at first, but I wasn't happy with them, so I reached out to DevIT to see if they could assist here too. Web designer Daniil at DevIT was so creative and innovative that I was hooked on the very first draught.

Then Ivan, a web developer at DevIT, took the reins and turned the designs into reality. Thanks to Karina's leadership as my Product Manager, I've had unwavering support from the team, and they've all exceeded my expectations with their work. They have all been really professional and knowledgeable, and I have always been kept in the loop and consulted thanks to tools like Slack and Jira. I have nothing but praise for DevIT and am excited to continue working with them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something DevIT could have done differently?

Honestly, as they resolved everything I had rarely queried so quickly and amicably, there is nothing they could improve on and I appreciate such excellence!

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the procurement manager of a Shopify procurement app.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with DevIT?

I was looking for a freelancer to develop my app, but I wanted a team to work with me. I had more trust in a team than in a single freelancer, so I chose DevIT.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

DevIT has developed a custom Shopify app called SKU Procurement Planner from concept to launch on the Shopify App Store. The app helps e-commerce merchants turn incoming orders into clear procurement plans, reducing manual calculations and preventing unnecessary purchases.Main deliverables include:

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 2–5 teammates from DevIT, including a project manager, UI/UX designer, frontend/backend engineer, QA engineer, solution architect, and DevOps engineer.

How did you come to work with DevIT?

DevIT had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, and their company values aligned with ours.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $12,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

DevIT has successfully developed and published our app on the Shopify App Store on the first submission attempt (with only one minor bug fix required during the review). Key measurable outcomes include:Before the app, our procurement process was entirely manual — reviewing each order individually, cross-referencing SKUs across multiple orders in spreadsheets, and calculating purchase quantities by hand. For a typical batch of 100+ orders with 500+ SKU variants, this could take several hours. With the app, the same process now takes minutes. Specific improvements include:Regarding order accuracy, the two main error types we dealt with before the app were over-purchasing and missed orders.Over-purchasing happened because we had no centralized way to track surplus inventory from previous buying rounds. If we bought 10 units but only needed seven, those extra three would get lost in the process, and we'd end up buying them again next time. The app's Surplus Stock feature now tracks these automatically and deducts them from future purchase quantities.Missed orders were the other issue — when manually reviewing dozens of orders, it was easy to overlook one or forget to tag it as purchased. The app's automatic order tagging ensures every order is accounted for and marked correctly as Purchased or Partially Purchased, so nothing slips through.Since using the app, we haven't had a single instance of duplicate purchasing or a missed order during procurement.

How did DevIT perform from a project management standpoint?

DevIT's project management is excellent. Communication is responsive and transparent throughout the project. If I raise an issue or request on a business day, they address it the same day. Olha (Project Manager) keeps everything organized with clear documentation and progress tracking across each phase. The initial development phase has been delivered within the estimated timeline. When I later requested a UX improvement phase with 10 specification items, the developer completed all of them in just two days. When Shopify flagged a bug during the app review, the team identified the root cause, fixed it, tested it, and deployed it within the same day — which allowed us to respond to Shopify immediately and get approved on the next review pass.Overall, they consistently meet or beat their time estimates.

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is my first time hiring a development team to build an app — it's my first time doing anything like this, honestly. Despite that, DevIT has made the process feel manageable. They have been professional from the very first conversation, set clear expectations with detailed proposals and project charters, and they consistently deliver on what they promise. What impresses me the most is how they handle pressure moments. When I came to them with a detailed UX improvement spec late in the project, they gave me a fair estimate within hours, offered a goodwill discount, and their developer completed everything in two days. When Shopify found a bug during the review, the fix was deployed the same day. That kind of responsiveness gives me real confidence as a first-time product owner.I had high expectations going in, and they have met them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing DevIT could improve on.
