We are a family-owned and operated beach resort in Costa Rica. We have a full bar and restaurant, yoga studio, spa, and 23 guest rooms.

I am the owner.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Custom Creatives?

The challenge was that our previous SEO [search engine optimization] company had really messed up with our positioning. We had lost a great deal of positioning on Google. and the challenge was to get back in a good place.

The goals were better positioning and making our website more user-friendly. Gaining more social media traffic and making our website mobile phone and tablet compatible.

How did you come to work with Custom Creatives?

We were actually contacted by a member of Custom Creatives letting us know what our previous company had done to our website. We did some research and realized that what he said was true and that we could no longer trust their work. We liked that he was honest with us and told us the truth about what was happening, so we decided to go with Custom Creatives.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

It has been a year and four months at $1,100 per month. so $17,600 total so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

It's an ongoing project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

As an ongoing project, there are not certain specifics that can be shared but we have noticed a significant increase in website traffic and positioning. We have received great advice about social media marketing and have definitely noticed an increase in social media interest and activity. Our website has been improved and we are now mobile and tablet friendly. They have done very well in a very timely manner.

Make sure you talk to the campaign manager extensively and explain exactly what you want from them so that both parties have a clear understanding and the client gets what they are looking for.

What distinguishes Custom Creatives from other providers?

They are very fast at responding and very thorough when checking in. Custom Creatives also has a monthly phone call check in that is usually brief, but unique in my experience and offers a very personal touch.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve, or things you might do differently?

There's nothing in particular.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Custom Creatives?

Custom Creatives provided us with website design services and SEO [search engine optimization].

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

At the time we approached them, we were beginning to open up retail opportunities, and we needed to create more of an online presence and start an advertising campaign. The first step for us was revamping and redesigning our website. The second step was getting our name out to consumers. When we used to be selling wholesale, businesses and contractors would come to us, but the retail market is totally different. Custom Creatives helped us with our SEO and online marketing and another partner did all of our print advertising.

How did you come to work with Custom Creatives?

I think it all began in 2011 or 2012. I think to find them, we Googled web developers and SEO, and looked at reviews online. We called three or four different companies, met up with every single one, and then finally decided to go with Custom Creatives.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

We've been increasing our monthly expenditures with them progressively since 2012. Now, we're probably at $6,000 or $7,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our relationship with them is ongoing.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Custom Creatives did great. As far as our SEO goes, we turn around at least 1,500 to 2,000 people a month on the website. In terms of leads, with their help, they are increasing at an exponential rate. They're really good – they're pretty much all hands-on. I don't have to sit there and hold their hands and walk them through everything. They have figured us out, and they do most of the work for us there without me having to agree on what we need to do constantly. They pretty much know us now.

What distinguishes Custom Creatives from other providers?

Like I said, Rahul [Alim], president at Custom Creatives knows pretty much what our business plan is. He knows what to highlight in our keywords and our advertising. He doesn't need us to work hand in hand with him. He takes the reins for it pretty much.

Is there anything Custom Creatives could have improved or done differently?

No. Everything is good.
