There were 7 milestones, each with a fixed price and a fixed timeline: React version needed to be updated, various libraries replaced, internationalization improved etc

They submitted an offer, then spoke to frontend, then spoke to CTO and finally did a small project for us after which they put together a plan for the bigger project, which, after it was approved was acted out.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

The full frontend project was delivered as expected.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

100% effective. They were on slack and provided quick and efficient feedback over PR's etc too.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their honesty was remarkable. We had a deal where they would be paid 75% on hourly basis and the remainder on delivery. They could have extended the hourly counter on upwork all the way to 100% and beyond but never did- even on their last milestone I also loved the transparency: Each project milestone was well defined in advance. I never felt like they were hiding anything from me. Finally, it is hard to ignore that they are clearly in a very difficult situation, with a war going on in their country. We never felt the impact, even though I am sure they did.

Nothing that I can think of.

The project went surprisingly smoothly with CubeX (and we had the prior experience with other vendors so we had a point for comparison). It went through the fist stages of the general area research and condensing the POC of the solution, then iterated through the couple of prototypes with the increasing level of maturity, resulting in the smooth version-1 delivery and minimal defects, which were resolved quickly by CubeX.

CubeX sent us candidate resumes. We reviewed the resumes and approved those we liked for a video interview. Those that passed the video interview sent code samples. We reviewed the code samples and hired the candidates that we felt best matched our needs.

The projects are still going, but we have been making good progress.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The recruiting workflow was quite smooth. What I liked most of all was Anton's proactivity. I didn't have to follow-up with him. They keep on sending good candidates and follow up with us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

At one point, we hired one of their team members to work on a client project. However, when the candidate learned that the industry for the project was one for which he signed an NDA/non-compete, he told us that he was unable to participate in that particular project. Both the candidate and Anton from CubeX were firm in their position that they could not violate that NDA. That sort of integrity speaks volumes to CubeX's trustworthiness.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

One of the developers works rather quietly on his own. Yes, he works and responds to slack messages, but I wish he would take a more active part in team collaboration.

The attendees can pick the presented slides an note their comments to them for ther presonal script. We need a great UserExerperiance for the application running on various different devices from tablet, mobiles or pc. This is a complex package with integrations to various systems to optimize performace on events.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The first project with an MS teams integration was not in the experiance portefolio and this was announced directly in the beginning after some explanation. This is a quality factor to know and understand whe assets. The JS developement has proven gread experiance.

picksl.io is a native javascript application running basicly on everything which hosts a browser. This is a complex situation to cover especially in the various environsments with online meetings like Zoom Meeting and presence events in congresses or at Universities.

The package is now coming to a great level of simplification and cleanness. This is appreciated by the users a lot.

The combination of good communication and experienced development with their own ideas is great. No coding monkeys...

We had just lost an in-house designer and we were finding it very hard to hire someone good right away. We need a few new flows and new screens so the project doesn't stop.

Several years ago I worked with one of their staff on Upwork on a different project. They kept in touch with me and when we needed a designer we contacted a few companies and they were the fastest to provide support.

For each new feature that we create, we develop a user story and handle user interviews. After that the designer needs to create user flows, drafts, wireframes and the final design for us to submit to the engineers. CubeX did all this.

From my side we had the product owner, from CubeX we had a very good designer and a project manager.

I can't share the screens from the product, since they are confidential and just provided to clients. But as the CEO, I can guarantee you that the release of the features designed by CubeX is receiving good feedback from the users.

Our part was the slow one. Cube X was always on time and very fast on their communication. We worked through an hourly rate.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their speed to reply to our requests was amazing. Also, they are also willing to do skype calls to clarify any issues or misunderstandings.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Their designers knows a lot about the Google, Apple and other official Guidelines, which is great. But those guidelines were also made in the west. Because we are in Japan, sometimes things works different here. I wish there was a little bit more of understanding when we are breaking a guideline to fit Japan's standards.

Our clients are always happy for the functionality we can create and the timeframe the projects can be delivered in. As a result, we often see increase in SEO performance on websites we've updated. This happens because the overall speed and user experience of the pages are often dramatically improved.

Really effective. I always have a direct communication channel with CubeX as they have a user in our internal communication platform. Always fast response.

Their ability to work on so many different kinds of projects is remarkable and to deliver in such a short period of time. We also always discuss the possibilities before the coding is started to make sure the end results will be the best. This is a really really good thing, as I have been working with plenty of similar companies that do not always spend time trying to get it right from the start

We hired CubeX-Ukraine to develop and implement a search tool into the existing application, connect it to many of the relevant functionalities in other parts of the application, as well as to make some UI/ design-related fixing in the existing app.

Ensure that the newly-implemented search tool worked in perfect sync with the rest of the existing application and served its core purpose. In addition, the UI fixing was aimed at enhancing the visual attractiveness of the application as well as the UX.

They provided frontend software development services, fixing/testing services as well as project management services, encapsulating the entire project from start to finish.

What was the team composition?

Their team was lead by a project manager, which was also our main point of contact throughout the engagement. In addition, we were in touch with their assigned frontend developer at all times, who was absolutely INCREDIBLE with regard to his coding skills but also attitude and responsibility in general.

Additionally and as needed and adequate, other members of their team supported the project in order to ensure smooth running and a successful delivery.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Yes - the impact is vast. Prior to starting work with Cubex, we had an application that was a solid beta version, but was missing a core functionality that strongly drives the value of our product for our customers.

By having an upgraded and fixed solution after the project, the Cubex team positively influenced the entire trajectory of our business and the current growth/ operational capacity relative to what we had prior to starting the project.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was impeccable, we had a clear plan from the start, calls and offline communication on the go, whereas the team was extremely responsive at all times - minute to minute, literally. Our milestones and any potential discrepancies vs. what was planned were also always identified and communicated in advance. In a word - SMOOTH.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I really appreciated their respect, friendliness, professionalism, and most of all integrity. there are many companies out there that will commit to fixed-price projects and then when they fail to develop what was planned, they will go back on the arrangement and demand extra payment by the hour/ week/ month.

Cubex has been absolutely incredible on this - they finished the project on time but also never charged a penny for any work that was required in the fixing/ testing phase, which could have been considered as "extra work". Absolutely unheard of these days.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I'd just urge them to keep up the good work in terms of project delivery and to make sure that they maintain the level of professionalism and the partner-like approach that they have with clients - that means they actually care about how their work will impact your business - this is the single most important thing that will bring clients back, and that will definitely bring us back.

We were so lucky to find these guys in the sea of agencies/ freelancers out there today, many of whom are not even close to the level Cubex is on, especially when it comes to actually caring.
