Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a head of e-commerce solutions at Higma Service, during the project lifetime I managed the development of taski.pl platform. We are a national leader in providing sanitary solutions to enterprises and large scale businesses. Taski.pl platform is a system that enables simple and reliable link between customers looking to expand their sanitary machinery park and the distribution center of Diversey product.s

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire codelabs.rocks?

We asked for an online platform, that would simplify the ordering process of the specialist equipment, that up to this date relied on an outdated model of calling-in for an offer and phone negotiations. High speed and maintaining top quality of service was essential to keep and expand the market share of our business.

What were your goals for this project?

Without jeopardizing the customs of existing buyers , we had to create a platform that would not scare the customers, at the same time enable them to switch to a more efficient and reliable online model. With a unique market in mind, we aimed for the significant expanse of sales and an increase in our share substantially.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were presented with the details of the projects that codelabs.rocks has closed before. The scope of works that have been implemented sere very similar to the requirements we had given, and the final products had been well established in their respective markets. Having conducted interviews with previous customers of codelabs, we were sure we are talking to the specialists that will deliver what we need.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

In essence, we were handled and advised by a dedicated project manager who led us through each phase of the development process. It's worth mentioning that he had quickly learned the details of our business, so the solutions that were orchestrated matched our niche. In the beginning, we were led through a business analysis which in the end gave us a road map of development to which we have referred along the whole duration of the project. This allowed us to maintain a stable timeline, and we've received particular parts of the platform on time. It was very important for us that we were able to discuss the prototype before it was implemented, so there was no wasted time in the process. We crossed out a lot of unnecessary features at this stage, which in the end allowed us to save money and have a better product, less expensive. Guys drop new versions of the platform every 2 weeks in "sprints", so even if the development strays from our vision, we were able to correct everything very quickly - thanks to this fact, the platform, after deployment had remained unchanged and turned out to be a bullseye shot. Codelabs.rocks still takes care of the platform, and expands it when we asked for it.

What was the team composition?

We've had an agile team at our disposal - so the actual number of members changed based on the actual needs of the project In total we have cooperated with about 20+ people, including front-end and back-end developers, project manager, QA people, and additional specialists that were engaged when the need arose. In between 15 and 20 developers worked on our project, they were managed ba a PM who acted as a connector between us and the coding guys, translating all the questions for us, so we didn't need to learn about the deep technical stuff that was mentioned and required decisions. It's also worth noting that the PM didn't hesitate to tell us that some of our concepts are not good and are unnecessary in our case. This again, saved us resources and money.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Success. We keep codelabs.rocks on our supplier shortlist and we have contacted them about other projects that we are creating. Having a platform that fits our needs we know that we have a very reliable team at our disposal.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

A very efficient and impressive workflow was employed. SCUM sprints based on a 2 week-long periods, gave us flexibility and delivered what we asked for really fast. Highly professional project manager in codelabs.rocks kept us in the flow of the workflow and let us understand what and when exactly is happening. The approach also enforced our part of the work to be done fast and efficiently. It's all managed in 2-week windows of work, that are reviewed and presented to us regularly. It's possible to discuss each step of development. Every idea that appears along the way is considered by the PM, and if it's viable, it is planned for development for the following "sprints". If not - we are stopped then and there, which is very good - you can be sure that the guys will not push to fo more when it is not needed.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

If one thing has to be pointed, it's that the guys at codelabs.rocks will not hesitate to stop you when you're daydreaming and getting too optimistic about the planned features. They are ambitious yet down to earth people that know the limits and will not be afraid to tell you that something can not be done in the way you imagine it will be done. Speed with quality maintained. If there was any lag in development, it was due to the outside factors. If they plan to have something pushed out on a selected date, they will do that. Full stop. We used to work with developers that either rushed the projects and didn't deliver the essence, or took too long to finish the project. In this case, there is a perfect balance in their work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I don't think there is anything to improve that needs pointing out :)
