**The Review** — May 22, 2024

**Feedback Summary**: The client saw deeper engagement per user in their new site, and users spent more time on the site. The client received positive feedback regarding the site's design, and CodeFulcrum was proactive. The team communicated via Slack and weekly meetings and managed the project using Jira.
""CodeFulcrum understood what we were looking for and was able to deliver against that understanding.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I'm a marketing manager at a youth mental health charity.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with CodeFulcrum? We needed to upgrade and overhaul our existing website to cope with increased traffic. We also wanted to improve our UX and overall digital experience and add Web3 innovations to the site since it needed to serve global audiences and perform well.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?CodeFulcrum was tasked with redesigning our website and building it according to that design. The team created some initial design concepts for us using Figma, which included UX designs and a presentation. Once we approved the design, CodeFulcrum implemented it and built the site using Strapi. The team was responsible for testing and deploying the site. CodeFulcrum worked on UI/UX design and integrated some technology pieces to ensure the platform could cope with large traffic volume. What is the team composition? We worked with a project manager, a UI lead designer, and a team of software engineers. I coordinated closely with Hammad (Co-Founder & CTO).How did you come to work with CodeFulcrum? We submitted an RFP to a third-party platform and received responses from several agencies. CodeFulcrum's proposal was chosen because of its case studies of former work and its understanding of our project's complexity, which was demonstrated in the return presentation the team provided. How much have you invested with them?We spent over $60,000 on this project. What is the status of this engagement? We engaged CodeFulcrum from February 2023–March 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?Since the site went live, we've measured its user engagement and traffic levels. We saw a slight decrease in the overall number of web visitors, which was probably due to the site's SEO. We also saw a deeper engagement per user, meaning the users we attract to the site spent longer times and read more of our content. We received good feedback from our users, saying the site's look and aesthetics were nicer. Overall, the site was a nicer space to spend time. How did CodeFulcrum perform from a project management standpoint?CodeFulcrum recommended using Jira to manage tasks. We mainly communicated via Slack and had weekly update meetings to address questions and concerns. There was a slippage in the overall timeline, but that was due to the complexity of some of the Web3 tools we used. Overall, CodeFulcrum delivered in the timeline we expected. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?I want to highlight Hammad; he was very responsive and easy to work with. What did you find most impressive about them?CodeFulcrum was proactive and helpful in suggesting ways to incorporate some of our ideas for Web3. The Figma file the team created was very extensive with different page designs and considerations for different UX within that. Overall, CodeFulcrum understood what we were looking for and was able to deliver against that understanding. Are there any areas they could improve?CodeFulcrum could have provided greater clarity on how to implement some of our ideas. Some things were trickier to implement, and CodeFulcrum could have been more responsive in those instances. Overall, our experience was positive.Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?Ensure you have a clear understanding of what you're trying to achieve and deliver it in a clear brief. Our team was in a different country than CodeFulcrum's, and we had a time and language difference. I suggest that potential customers be clear and concise so that they can work straightforwardly with the team.

**The Review** — Feb 14, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: CodeFulcrum improved the client's page speeds and massively reduced its downtimes. They also successfully automated several tasks, including scheduling tweets and running database updates. Moreover, the client lauded the vendor's knowledge and effort to go the extra mile to address their needs.
""They were very good and went above and beyond on many occasions.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm one of the founders of the Sports Data Analysis service.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire CodeFulcrum, and what were your goals?

We wanted to continue building and developing our product. The team at CodeFulcrum were hired to help resolve bugs with loading speed and downtime as well as working on new features to improve our service.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found CodeFulcrum largely via Upwork and then through an intensive interview with the team which included looking at how well they would work both with our existing team and how we worked.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Using many different technologies including Jenkins & Python we were able to improve the page speeds and reduce the downtime significantly. We were also able to build new features which were looking very exciting.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

One project manager and one backend developer

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our page speeds were much better and the downtime was massively reduced. A lot of tasks were automated including scheduling tweets and running database updates

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They were very good and went above and beyond on many occasions including working well into the night when things were 'breaking'. We used Slack and Zoom/Google Meet calls.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They clearly had a lot of knowledge and we were able to get some impressive features added to RTR.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had an issue where the frontend team blamed the backend team and the backend team blamed the frontend team. Unfortunately CodeFulcrum gave up and walked away with very little notice which was very disappointing.

Department Head, FinTech Company

**The Review** — Dec 15, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: The API CodeFulcrum has developed currently handles 100,000 total users and 10,000 monthly active users, having minor iterations. They have effective and frequent communication with their client through Slack and Google Meet and excellent time management that they support using Jira.
"“They handle everything with flying colors.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a department head at a fintech company. We offer a debit card for gamers, offering a consumer and bank interface. We market the bank’s services to serve the consumer better, improve the UI, and develop an engaging loyalty system, so the consumers enjoy the bank’s services at their best.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with CodeFulcrum?

We wanted an external and segregated development team to work specifically on our loyalty points system and how it interacted with our main application and client. We sought CodeFulcrum to help us with this project.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

CodeFulcrum has created an API for our loyalty points program. They've used Python for development and an open-source tool called Open Loyalty for hosting. The API allows us to perform different tasks, like award points, process transactions, allocate the proper amount of points per transaction to the corresponding users, and assign additional bonuses.

In addition, CodeFulcrum has developed a piece of software that isn't directly related to our loyalty program; a one-off integration that sets the communication between teams for debit-to-debit payment. The integration is on the backend, and they've used a language in the same realm as Python.

We plan to work with them on another project next year: converting our servers into microservers.

What is the team composition?

I started working exclusively with Hammad (Co-Founder & CEO), and as the project has continued, he's brought in an additional backend engineer.

How did you come to work with CodeFulcrum?

I initially found CodeFulcrum through Upwork. We talked outside the platform and handled the contract independently. Hammad's ability with engineering and product design was one of the reasons we chose them.

How much have you invested with them?

We've invested between $150,000–$175,000 with CodeFulcrum so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with CodeFulcrum in October 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The loyalty points system API CodeFulcrum has developed for us has handled thousands of users consistently. Currently, we manage around 30,000 bank accounts; we’ve scaled to having roughly 100,000 total users and 10,000 monthly active users. CodeFulcrum has delivered and iterated on the product several times; it has had only minor issues over the past three months.

How did CodeFulcrum perform from a project management standpoint?

CodeFulcrum has worked effectively since the beginning; they stay on budget and meet deadlines. To communicate, we primarily use Slack and Google Meet. Initially, we met three days a week, and now we have a sit-down once a week to go over metrics and scalability.

We also used tools for project management; we’ve migrated to Jira recently but used monday.com before that. We share code through GitLab.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with CodeFulcrum’s ability to work interchangeably with our central development team. Hammad has been able to stay on track throughout our partnership; he’s impressive. His time management and capacity to work under duress are excellent. For example, we had a severe issue with our hosting system, and he was able to resolve it with minimal input from me.

Hammad had his first child a couple of months ago, and even then, he didn’t skip a beat. My working relationship with him has been a pleasure; I enjoy working with him.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything for CodeFulcrum to improve; they handle everything with flying colors. During the spring, they had a set of Pakistani holidays that we would’ve liked to have been notified about earlier, but it wasn’t an issue in the end. I mentioned it to Hammad, and he let me know four weeks in advance the next time it happened.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend having as many visual interpretations of your system as possible whenever you bring someone new to your team. We had an effective onboarding with Hammad, and we’ve used the process a lot since.

codeFulcrum helps us with custom software development using Python, Django, HTML, React, and CSS. They also do UI/UX design using Figma, among other tools.

Currently, most of their work focuses on assisting with our version 2.0.

What is the team composition?

How did you come to work with codeFulcrum?

We found them in an online search.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The development they have assisted us with has been successful and well-received by our users who rely our platform on a daily basis.

Moreover, the work on the 2.0 version of the product is looking great.

How did codeFulcrum perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Slack, Jira, and Zoom as our main communication tools to discuss issues or features we want to develop. In addition, Hammad is quite responsive and communicative with the rest of his team. They even attend to our weekend inquiries, which is important because a lot of our business takes place over the weekends, so if we have an issue at any time, they come back to us quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to come up with suggestions and problem-solving ideas is impressive because we’re a new startup, so their thoughtful approach helps us to turn our ideas into complete features for our products. In addition, they’re very helpful at breaking down our requirements list to ensure that we have everything we need before going into a development sprint.

We've worked closely with them to work through our project constraints; they use their experience to ensure that we meet our project objectives. I've used onshore, near shore and offshore development resources in the past. I've never had any team as responsive as this one.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicate using several collaborative tools and codeFulcrum hits all of our deadlines. They identify project blockers early on and make detailed project plans, keeping us informed of approaching project-dependent deliverable deadlines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

**Feedback Summary**: codeFulcrum showed the ability to use the resources from the contractor almost exclusively. They also did everything in highly professional manner. The quality/cost ratio was as they expressed, which was the client's best reason to use their company.
""Everything they've done has been done at a high-level, professional manner in the current methods of software design.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I was the CTO of the company

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire codeFulcrum, and what were your goals?

We were looking to convert some code from PHP to Python for our backend services that didn't not web interface. We were looking to make them more efficient.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched through online resources for a contractor that would have the required skills and then did some interviews to get a feel for the skills and compatibility. This contractor was the best.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We ended up forking some unexpected work to the contractor. As we suddenly had an opportunity and needed the resources. The contractor was able to fulfill the needs and be flexible. The project was completed for GM in the area of window sticker creation from feed data with an admin portal for dealers. In addition, the main work of converting all the daily image processing was also completed. The technologies used were primarily Python.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I worked entirely with one member of the team as the point of contact. I frankly don't know what title they went by but I believe they were at or near the head.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The ability to use the resources from the contractor almost exclusively to secure a major contract from GM was invaluable.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Everything they've done is done at a high level professional manner in the current methods of software design. We have used Slack which is pretty much industry standard now, and the timeliness was excellent. Pushes were possible when timelines were tight.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think at the end of the day the quality/cost ratio or value as it would be expressed is the best reason to use this company.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Over time the communication improved which is normal as organizations work together, so perhaps in the beginning there was not as clear an understanding of the work but that evolved.

**Feedback Summary**: codeFulcrum showed skill and experience with the quality of their work. They have been organized and timely, as well. The partners engage in 2-week sprints with daily standups and weekly performance reviews. Most of all, the vendor was responsive and adaptive to the client's needs.
""Their openness and honesty sticks out.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the co-executive director. We are a global organization that develops tools and provides services for the off-grid electricity sector.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire codeFulcrum, and what were your goals?

codeFulcrum was hired for end-to-end development of Community Energy Toolkit (COMET), a role-playing software tool built around a representation of a mini-grid system, intended to be used as an educational and collaborative planning tool in designing a community-sized mini-grid system. The tool is designed to be used within a process that explores mini-grid planning and operational decisions. In COMET, networked users come together to play out household consumption and make important energy choices, like purchasing appliances, setting energy tariffs, and managing finances to pay their bills on time. Users' individual behavior, like switching appliances on and off, or failing to make a payment, are immediately visible to everyone else. The tool facilitates meaningful collaboration, and enables the community to collectively decide on an appropriately sized system, a tariff that pays for system costs, and allows users to consume amounts of energy within the mini-grid's limited capacity.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found this vendor through UpWork and went through a process of testing their capabilities through a series of initial, self-contained projects. Their positive performance encourage us to hire them to lead the development. They listened and asked the necessary questions from the start, and they were patient and efficient with us.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Their team was there for us through the entire development process, from planning to implementation. Wireframes and specification documentations were delivered in detail to their team. They developed the solution through a series of development sprints, incorporating the features specified in the design. We leveraged several core technologies and infrastructure including Python, Django, React, Typescript, and Postgresql.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We work with a project manager as the main point of contact and there’s one front-end developer and one back-end developer dedicated to the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Their skill and experience showed in the quality of their work, and they followed through on everything they promised. They have delivered a series of prototypes with significant work on both front and back-end development. codeFulcrum put in a lot of extra work to hit some deadlines and allow us to show it to clients. We’ve been using the demo version since May 2021

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Their project manager is very organized, which enabled us to meet all of our deadlines. We use JIRA to stay on the same page at all times and have a slack channel which works well for us as it is efficient and timely. The team engages in 2 week sprints with daily standups and weekly performance evaluation meetings.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their openness and honesty sticks out. Working with contractors necessitates a high level of trust, especially if they are located in another region. They are dependable and friendly. They are also very responsive and adaptable to our team, which is spread from Asia to North America.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their work to date has focused on prototypes working in a development environment. We are now increasing our attention on our unique off-line deployment requirements.

**The Review** — Sep 10, 2021

**Feedback Summary**: Stakeholders are impressed with the quality of codeFulcrum’s work. The team is highly independent, making decisions that meet the client’s expectations. They use tools at their disposal effectively, and they’re goal-oriented. They accomplish tasks and communicate well with the firm’s internal team.
"“They’re easy to work with and they get the job done.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the chief software architect for OhmConnect, and we pay people to save energy. When electric grids are stressed, the utility companies pay us to reduce such stress on the grid. We alert people to postpone any large electrical usage and then pay them. I oversee our architecture and special projects.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with codeFulcrum?

We initially brought in codeFulcrum for a contract with an Australian energy provider. Our company needed to customize our basic product to work in the Australian market, and that was a big body of work. Apart from that, they've also worked on other projects in all aspects of our market.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our collaboration with codeFulcrum isn’t project-based. Instead, they serve as offshore members of our development team, and we give them projects in many areas. The technologies they use include Python with Flask, React, and MySQL. Their team also uses plenty of third-party tools like Slack, Jira, and GitHub. We use Webflow for our website’s frontend and Twilio for SMS. Further, a huge body of our work involves smart devices like Nest Thermostat and TPLink Smart Plugs; the codeFulcrum team handles the API tasks for these devices.

As an example, we previously brought in one of their developers to help us on a short-term project. We were opening a Texas branch, so we needed a completely new website. They assigned a developer who was familiar with that kind of workflow to develop the website. That project lasted for about a month.

At present, one of the things we’re working on is adding an interface to a smart device that controls air conditioning units. Apart from that, the team is also working on another smart device — this one’s based in New York, and it’s difficult and confusing. They currently work with the manufacturer to get that project going. On top of that, codeFulcrum also works on fine-tuning the way we send our messages to people who need to save energy. The goal is to make that process more efficient.

Overall, we have a ton of interfaces. The codeFulcrum team is involved with most of it, and we keep on working with them in more areas. We’re trying to expand the partnership and look for more engineers from their team to work on more projects.

What is the team composition?

We mainly work with three people. One of them is a frontend engineer, and the other two are full stack developers that handle React, Python, and database technologies.

How did you come to work with codeFulcrum?

We were searching for companies online when we found codeFulcrum. We weren’t specifically searching in Pakistan, but we also had engineers all over the world, including Poland, Spain, and eastern European countries.

When we stumbled upon codeFulcrum, they seemed to be a company that could fulfill our needs. We had a rigorous screening process where we gave them assessments and interviews. Eventually, we started working with them and liked the way they worked, so we kept going.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere between $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with codeFulcrum in August 2020, and the partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In general, the quality of codeFulcrum’s code and their commitment have been top-level. For context, our feedback is more about how smoothly the project goes. We check the quality of their work, testing, and deployment processes; our team looks at whether the deliverables work as expected.

Similar to any engineering project, there are times when the code isn’t so good or a bug comes up eventually. However, codeFulcrum’s performance is equal to the top programmers we have onshore. Based on that, we’re truly happy with them, as evidenced by our continuing work and expansion.

For our Texas website project, we were pleased with how quickly they assigned a person to work on it. We were also happy with that person’s skills; he finished the project on time.

How did codeFulcrum perform from a project management standpoint?

With project management in mind, working with offshore teams can be challenging because of time zone differences. For instance, codeFulcrum has a 12-hour time zone difference with us. When we have morning meetings, it’s nighttime for them. What’s great about them is that they’ve adjusted their schedule to overlap with ours and keep working with us.

More importantly, their resources can work independently. We try to write highly descriptive instructions on what to do and how to do it, but even with instructions that aren’t precise, they can figure things out by themselves. In almost all cases, they come up with the right decisions based on what they know about our projects. That’s truly important for us.

Moreover, the codeFulcrum team is great at using tools like Jira and GitHub. We have standups twice a week, and they provide standup reports via Slack every three days. Their reports are always great; they contain descriptions of where the project is. If we need to review a request, the reports also contain links to such requests, making it easy for us to go through and scan exactly what they do.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The number one reason why we enjoy working with codeFulcrum is that we enjoy them as people. We get online at least twice a week, and we talk to each other about what’s going on and have personal conversations. On top of that, their English is good, and we don’t have any problems with their accent.

Another impressive thing about codeFulcrum is that they’re on the ball. If I ask them to do something, they’ll get it done — they don’t drop the ball. They implement what we ask and do it consistently. In summary, they’re easy to work with and they get the job done; these are the most outstanding things about them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

While the codeFulcrum team is great at figuring things out by themselves, they still can use our schedule’s overlap to ask us questions. They should take advantage of that time by interacting with us when necessary.

**Feedback Summary**: Although the project is ongoing, codeFulcrum has been hardworking to provide strong deliverables in a timely manner. The team has worked closely with the client to keep them on the same page. They have been communicative, responsive, and accessible throughout the workflow.
""The quality of their work, their attention towards our challenges, and the project goals have been impressive.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Strada offers tools to simplify the management of Commercial Real Estate.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire codeFulcrum, and what were your goals?

We hired codeFulcrum for its end to end development. We wanted someone who could take up the challenge and own the project.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select codeFulcrum and what were the deciding factors?

We selected them through a bidding process on a work marketplace. Their selection interview was well done.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We have another design team on board while codeFulcrum takes up the responsibility of end to end development. The project was in an MVP state but they picked up on the idea and the challenges of the project quickly. I shared the need to polish the existing Strada features and get going on new ones.

How many people from the codeFulcrum team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Presently there’s one project lead and two developers: one for the frontend and one for the backend. They've been dedicated to us.
