I am the co-founder of Vidolci Videos.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with CodeEpsilon Services INC?

We thought it would be cute to allow people to create private videos, upload them, and send them out in a commercial-free frame. We needed to create a player with the ability to upload video from anywhere in the United States (we later expanded this to the entire world).

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

To work on this, they used Amazon Web Services, Microsoft products, and WordPress. They realized these weren’t going to support my needs, so he figured it all out and used PHP. The software creates videos, stores them, and supports sharing. They figured out every part.

What is the team composition?

He wasn’t certified on any of this four years ago. He stepped up on every single technical problem we have, solving them all by learning tool after tool. He had an entire team, but he was my point person. He had either six or eight team members.

How did you come to work with CodeEpsilon Services INC?

I had a rush of patriotism and wanted to hire an American company to program my website. I hired an American company, and realized that they outsourced me to CodeEpsilon Services Inc. I had no positive experience with that American firm so I won’t say their name, but I built a great relationship with the team at Code Epsilon Services INC. When I had to hire somebody again, I went straight to them.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent around $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began work in October 2016 and the work is ongoing. We pay them a monthly fee to keep things running.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The best anecdote I have is a small side project they did. Someone told me in 2016 that if you sent one of my video cards, it’d be cool if you could reply with video. That turned out to be trickier than expected.

They figured it out in three weeks and it cost me about $6,000. It worked, and it still works. My biggest competitor has a large staff of 25 in-house developers, and it took them an additional six months to add that feature.

How did CodeEpsilon Services INC perform from a project management standpoint?

He always says no problem to everything. The way I worked around that is we agreed on a price for a job, and that’s what I’d pay. Which works great, because he won’t sleep for three days until he fixes it. I give them lots of notice for deadlines and they make them, and when I call them to fix something they’ll be fixed as quickly as possible.

It’s an incredibly amicable relationship. I like them a lot. I actually paid for him to travel to the US and to stay at my house.

What did you find most impressive about them?

He’s giving great help beyond the scope of my business. He gives suggestions on business management that are really helpful. He’s been able to move mountains for me.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat them like a real partner.
