I am the owner and manager of a QSR restaurant in Chicago. Our aim is to automate most of the basic functions to maximize productivity and allow customers to self serve.

We were on the lookout for a development partner to create our custom user and staff application for operations and customers. Our aim was to be able to operate our outlet with minimum personnel and hence the app interface has to be very very easy for customers.

We developed our custom proprietory native iOS and Android applications for customers with a web based admin panel to manage online ordering and push alerts. We also created our own staff applications to manage the payroll, attendance and inventory. All the apps worked flawlessly and our numerous changes were taken into development cycles without disturbing the timelines a lot.

We were assigned dedicated developers for each technology, a business analyst and project manager. They were available at all times and provided updates very periodically so we are all on same page. All the designs were shown to us for approval before development that I think saved a lot of rework.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are about to launch the apps on the market shortly and inspite of the Covid situations the team was able to deliver the project on time. The apps look great and all our features for MVP are ready. Our team also received tutorials and documentation for training on the system.

Communication was done via multiple modes Whatsapp, Slack, Email and phone calls. The weekly meetings really helped us keep track and timelines changes were communicated well in advance.

Their QA process is a little lengthy, maybe due to the multiple sweeps

We were one of the pioneers of cloud kitchen and had huge challenges to manage and market or orders received via website and phone. We are providing last mile delivery to customers to ensure a great experience but that led to having more departments to work in sync with each other. We approached Cloudester to build a system for us to manage an order from start to finish including payments, delivery and kitchen order management.

We found them through online search and once we got in touch we were really impressed by their processes and transparency. We even received client references and were able to talk to them to confirm our vendor selection.

They designed and developed an entire ordering system as per our needs. We take orders online(incl our website and third party companies) and from our dedicated phone lines. All the orders are then added to a central database system that is forwarded to the kitchen for preparation and finally provided to the delivery manager for end customer delivery. The system is built on PHP framework and has integrations with SMS providers and payment gateway.

We were assigned a dedicated project manager and around two developers. Main point of contact was the project manager who was always available for any issue or query.

The final system was easy to use for our employees and so far has had zero downtime during peak hours. We were able to generate analytics based on user's past orders that helped us direct our marketing efforts in the right direction. Overall we are very happy with the system and are building more features on top as per our growing business needs.

The project was executed using milestones and we were provided with access to the entire team via Slack channels and weekly meetings. The communication gap was minimal as we were able to work with the team directly. Deadlines have always been met as discussed, and we are always kept in the loop regarding new changes.
