Our Story

We keep the systems businesses depend on secure, reliable and running, and we take that responsibility personally. Our engineers build the application and run the infrastructure underneath it, from PHP, Python and TypeScript down to the server. The people who build a system should understand it, stand behind it, and be there when it matters. Small and growing businesses deserve the infrastructure team a much larger company takes for granted. You shouldn't need an IT department to have one.

Steven has spent 20+ years building and running systems, from bare-metal servers to modern application stacks. He founded Clarkes.Team in 2019 and still works hands-on, leading architecture decisions and security incidents himself.

We are not an auditor. We cannot certify you. What we can do is build and run your systems the way the rules ask for. That means we limit who can log in. We turn on two-step login for every admin. We encrypt your data. We keep backups and we test them. We write down every change we make, so you have a record to show an auditor. For GDPR, we map where your data goes. We set rules for how long you keep it and how you delete it. For HIPAA, we plan the work with your compliance lead. We will sign a BAA when our role calls for one. If something is outside what we can honestly promise, we tell you.

You get one ticket board and one engineer who knows your setup. You will not have to explain your systems to a new person every time. We write down the scope before we start. Big builds are priced as a flat fee or by milestone, not by the hour. You know the cost before we begin. We only take the access we need. We keep track of it. We turn it off when the work is done. After each job we send a short note. What we changed. Why. What we think you should do next.

We take on four main kinds of work. One, day-to-day care of websites, servers and cloud setups. Two, moving systems off old software that no longer gets security fixes. Three, locking systems down, and cleaning up after a break-in. Four, building custom apps and internal tools in PHP, Python and TypeScript. We are a good fit if your website earns you money and you have no IT team of your own. We are also a good fit if you just want a second opinion on how safe your servers are. We do not take crypto, blockchain, NFT or web3 projects.

Hacks and site outages come first. We start on those right away, even after hours. A break-in only gets worse the longer it runs. Normal support tickets are usually handled within one business day. For projects, we give you a schedule with real dates before we start. If something is going to be late, we tell you as soon as we know, not on the due date. We would rather give you a date we can hit than a date you want to hear.

We start by making a list. Every server, domain, DNS record, certificate and outside account. Who has a login to each one. What is open to the internet. Then we clean it up. Passwords move into a password manager. Shared logins are replaced with one account per person. Two-step login goes on. Old access gets shut off. At the same time we test your backups to be sure they really restore. We look for software that is out of date. We write down how your setup works, so it is not stuck in one person's head. You get a short report. It says what we found and what to fix first. You choose what we do.
