What challenge were you trying to address with Busy Beaver Software?

We turned to Busy Beaver to help us set up our website, email accounts, and social media presence. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Busy Beaver developed our website. I provided the team with my logos and other informational materials. They built off of my general idea for the layout and made it so that I could edit the content easily. Busy Beaver also showed me some SEO tips and tricks and how we could get more visibility on search engines. 

The team also helped me with creating some social media posts. They gave me an outline and ground rules for how Facebook works and how we could set up our business account there. It wasn’t a main part of the contract, but Busy Beaver assisted me on this front.

I was in direct contact with the owner of the company.

How did you come to work with Busy Beaver Software?

Busy Beaver offered to help us with this project. They had a very good portfolio and we trusted their character. Their owner was a very thorough, reliable person, so we decided to work with them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €200–€250 (approximately $240–$300 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from August 2020–February 2021. My website is up, my blogs are live, and my social media accounts are all set up, but they would still occasionally tweak something on the site.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After setting up my website and following some of Busy Beaver’s advice, I've seen a spike in interest in my business. They've helped me achieve greater visibility on the internet. I have received more offers than I did before start working with them, securing 10–15 more clients over the last six months. It’s a pretty big deal for a small company like ours.

My clients have also said that they like the simple and clean design of my website. There's no redundancy of information and it's easy to look for our contact details and pricing. Everything is understandable.

How did Busy Beaver Software perform from a project management standpoint?

I don't know much about their inner workings but from a customer's perspective, I didn’t have any problem reaching out to them. I think the project was managed well and we didn’t run into any problems. 

We worked together via Slack, Discord, email, and phone.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Busy Beaver was great at translating what I wanted into a website. I'm not very tech-savvy and I didn't know what to look for, but they gave me some good advice and steered me in the right direction. They didn't push anything either. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can give a bit more variety when it comes to their websites. I think that my website is unique and I haven't seen anything similar to it, but the team could stretch the options they provide a little bit. I can understand that this may be due to the size of their company since they're still trying to find more people.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Keep an open mind because you advice that Busy Beaver provides is really good. They will, of course,  do what you ask for but they have a good technical understanding of how stuff on the internet works, so take what they say into consideration.
