We wanted to find a development team that could help us build our mobile app, Wispr -- an app so that patrons of businesses can leave said businesses private feedback (in the style of a global suggestion box) that only the business can see.

Upon reviewing several development teams, and going over the requirements with them, BrewApps was the clear choice. Their deep understanding of the necessary technologies, and their breakdown of the project made them the clear choice to execute our vision for the app.

We had a handful of meetings to go over the requirements for the project, and from there BrewApps took the requirements and developed a plan for how to tackle everything. Then, for the next few months, BrewApps worked on the app and we eventually started to get builds of the app to review and give feedback on. We discussed everything over some shared Slack channels, which made communication incredibly efficient.

The main person we worked with at BrewApps was Arushi -- she is a Project Manager at BrewApps. Communicating with her has always been very easy, and we rarely had any miscommunication with each other. Also, Arushi is very responsive, even in the evening.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have yet to launch publicly, so we do not have any metrics to call out. That said, BrewApps definitely met our expectations on the project.

See above, but Arushi (Project Manager) was our main point of contact, and we did all of our communication over Slack, and a little over email and Google Drive -- we used Google Drive documents as our source of truth for requirements. I also built a mock-up in Adobe XD, which the team used to know how to build the app. We often would reference the mock-up to help with communication.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of the product and the efficiency with which they got their work done was impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing to call out in this area.

I am the founder of Parry, an app in the women's safety space.

For what projects/services did your company hire BrewApps, LLC, and what were your goals?

We wanted to create an app in the women's safety space that helped women discreetly get out of awkward and uncomfortable situations. We wanted something aesthetically pleasing yet functional and easy to use/navigate. BrewApps developed Parry (the app) for us and worked with us from start to finish on this project by talking through the possible functionality of the app and what was possible to publish it on Google Play and the App Store.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We interviewed several developers and we felt like BrewApps was exactly what we were looking for in terms of experience/past work examples, and price, and they were also very communicative from the very beginning. We felt confident that we would get a high-quality product while also remaining within our ideal budget.

We had a couple of phone calls where I explained what we were looking for regarding this app/what was possible from a development standpoint and then BrewApps put together a quote for us while sending over examples of apps they had developed in the past. After agreeing to work together on this project, we had a designer work on the app wireframes for us while BrewApps helped us get everything set up regarding our Google Play and App developer accounts, backend analytic tools, and other third-party vendors that we would need regarding the functionality of our app.

Once the wireframes were completed, BrewApps gave us feedback on them regarding their aesthetic and functionality based on what they have seen to be successful in the app space. They also helped us rearrange the order of some of the wireframes based on their experience. From there, they set up several tests for the app so we could go through the app and give feedback/make tweaks before it was live. After several reiterations/tweaks, they went ahead and prepared everything to be pushed live on the Google Play and App Store.

A project manager was our main point of contact and there were about 5 other team members that jumped in along the way depending on what part of the project we were working on. Everyone was very communicative and attentive.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since this was the first time we launched, we do not have anything to compare it to but our conversion rate is about double what is typically expected so we feel like we have seen great feedback regarding the app.

We used email primarily to communicate but the team was always happy to get on a phone call if needed. Everyone was very communicative - quick responses to our emails and would keep us in the loop of timelines, updates, etc.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really took the time to explain parts of the process - this was our first experience with app development so we had A LOT of questions! But BrewApps was always more than happy to quickly respond and give thorough answers. They also went above and beyond in helping us set up various accounts/tools that were needed on the backend.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, we were very happy with our experience.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner and CEO of a game scheduling app for baseball and softball teams. They can use our app to communicate  with other teams and book a game. I work with a couple of consultants that I hire as needed.

What challenge were you trying to address with BrewApps, LLC?

I hired a different developer before BrewApps. They were local here, but they didn’t finish the app. The backend had architectural flaws and was poorly designed. We published it on the app stores, but I had to take it down. It needed to be redesigned for it to be used properly. That was when I hired BrewApps. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our app had a Firebase backend, and it was built on Flutter so it could be used on both Google Play and the App Store. When I gave it to BrewApps, it was only 30% complete, and it crashed a lot. As a result, they worked to fix errors and made plenty of changes. 

The app had a messaging feature integrated into it, and it was tricky because the messages were based on the games to keep them organized. A user could have 8–9 conversations going on within a game, whereas normal messaging apps only required users to switch between contacts. The previous developer couldn’t figure out how to code this. Meanwhile, BrewApps came up with a working version of it. They also cleared erroneous lines of code that caused the app’s crashes. More importantly, their team set up a paywall, which the app didn’t have before. 

In the future, we’ll continue working on the app to change other architectural designs on the backend.

What is the team composition?

I mainly work with Sagar (Co-Founder) and a developer. Sagar is the project manager. 

How did you come to work with BrewApps, LLC?

I searched around for a few service providers. When I went to UpWork, I found BrewApps, and they had good reviews. Given that, I reached out to them. They were responsive and understood the scope of work we needed. Other vendors didn’t ask questions and just said they could do it. By contrast, Sagar and his team asked the right questions. We then negotiated a price, and that was the start of our engagement. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $28,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in January 2021, and the engagement is technically ongoing since I plan to rehire them for more architectural development. They delivered the working version of the app in April 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I can’t measure success by the number of users we have because that depends on marketing. However, my success metric is based on how quickly they respond to my concerns and questions. I also check whether they give me feedback. Overall, BrewApps meets these metrics. They provide me with feedback, and there’s great communication between us. Moreover, they deliver on budget. 

The delivery has been a bit delayed because we’ve had to republish the app after some changes I made. Counting out the scope creep, BrewApps has technically delivered on time. In terms of the app’s performance, we no longer have any crashes after its redesign. 

How did BrewApps, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

BrewApps' communication is great. There’s no middleman when I reach out to them. If I want to talk to the developer, he’ll reach out to me directly instead of going through the project manager. That’s important for me. 

Moreover, I’ve always been wary about outsourcing projects offshore, but Sagar has been in California and his English is great, so nothing’s lost in translation. That’s rare for me whenever I deal with offshore companies

What did you find most impressive about them?

Apart from their great communication skills, BrewApps also gives me feedback on how the app can work better. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure that the scope of BrewApps’ work is laid out, and see how fast and clearly they communicate. This will prevent you from wasting time. 

For context, in our engagement, I could’ve saved plenty of time if I laid everything out across different systems, including admin logins. Nonetheless, it’s been easy dealing with their team, and I’ve had no complaints.

I wanted help in developing a diagnostic cross-platform mobile application for doctors in the field of mammography. Being the world's first, the challenge to realize the concept was huge. I needed a company that understood the complex nature of the work and would work with extreme confidentiality, given the sensitive nature of the medical data in use. The goal was to create a robust application with a simple-to-use, intuitive interface.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After a short interview with BrewApps, I was confident that the team is best suited to my needs. The factors that helped me finalize my selection were their knowledge in the healthcare field, given their experience in similar fields, and their flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to learn new concepts to custom build my desired project.

AFter a series of discovery meetings, i provided the team with a wireframe and the required diagnostic algorithms. The team was swift to design a beautiful interface around the concept which after a few revisions was perfect as per my requirements. We did alpha and beta testing in quick successions and the project was completed for launch well within the timeline. The team was very patient and accommodating in terms of taking feedback and revisions.

I mostly interacted with the two leads of the team who managed their team members as per our specifications. Uday and Sagar are very easy to talk to and convey ideas to.

Within 3 months of the launch, the app has over 3000 downloads and enjoys a > 4.5-star rating on both Ios and Android platforms.

The project lead was very easy to communicate with and offered timely updates. The timelines were met without any delays and the final result was beyond our expectations. 

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The willingness of the team to educate themselves with new concepts in the medical field that are not easy to grasp impressed me. Their UI and UX skills are at par with the best in the industry.

I can think of no areas where I could suggest an improvement.

I am the Founder/CEO of a social sharing/entertainment platform.

We wanted to update a few of the previously built features and enhance them to provide a better user experience. Additionally, we will continue working with the BrewApps team on the implementation on new features.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched for developers online using platforms such as Upwork, and the individuals of interest were heavily vetted which involved them having to provide responses to hand-picked questions relating to app development experience, software management, experience in similar projects, etc., and the BrewApps team passed the interview with flying colors.

We had a series discovery meetings which included review of the previous code, backend, any applicable UX/UI designs, etc. From there, necessary system accesses were administered in order for the team to perform their duties.

A Project Manager, a Front and Back-end Developer, and an App Manager worked with me on this project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within the 1.5 month timeframe of working with the BrewApps team, we saw a huge increase in engagement on the app. Users are loving the look and feel of the product and are constantly posting content.

The Project Mgmt of this team is PHENOMENALT! They are always readily available within the hour to answer questions or address concerns. The communication tool used is Slack and the timeliness in responding was impeccable.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their mobile and software knowledge and development skills blew my mind! I have been building out my app for 7.5 years now, so I'm pretty well-versed at this stage of what tools a developer should have in their toolbox, and I can NOW say that I am in the most comfortable place I've ever been throughout my entire process. Their level of CUSTOMER SERVICE and PROFESSIONALISM is IMPECCABLE as well. This team is knowledgeable in code, UX/UI design, backend server, app submission process, timeframes, etc. If you need it done, this team is sure to get it done.
