Very unprofessional company. I hired developers from this company with experience of 5 years. They claimed that the resources have 5 yrs experience where as the actual experience of the resources as only 1 to 2 years. One day suddenly they informed that both the developers have resigned and no support is provided there after. Do not hire resources from this company. Cannot be trusted.

I'm the CEO of Revolution Travel Group Ltd. We are are travel business offering technology to support travel agents be more efficient at their jobs. We have developed a CRM system dedicated specifically to travel agents.

For what projects/services did your company hire Brain Inventory, and what were your goals?

The travel industry is plagued by out of date systems and processes to assist travel agents with running and operating a profitable business. Our goal was to build a CRM system that added a lot of automation to the travel agents daily tasks. This allows them to focus more on selling and less on managing their business.

How did you select Brain Inventory and what were the deciding factors?

I have over 20 years of development experience at a large Canadian Financial Institution. Part of my role was managing outsourced development work from various parts of the world. This experience allowed me to know the key items to look for in an offshore vendor. Right from our first meeting the Brain Inventory team stood out from all the others.

Their experience managing contract with North American companies stood out and they also understood the challenges that can occur in such arrangements.

The project was a complete start to finish project. I approached the team with my idea. They took that idea and turned it into wireframes for my approval and estimated the entire project.

The team recommended that the program be built using Larvel and clearly explained why it was the correct choice. Following the wireframes the team quickly started working on a MVP for me to look at. Each step in the process had well documented gates to pass through and costs associated with those gates.

After we approved the MVP the team continued to develop the core functions within the system. Brain Inventory was always open to change requests and went above and beyond in making those changes within the scope and hours estimated.

They kept a detailed record of their work and next steps as well as providing additional estimates if a change could not be completed in the timeframe expected. Following a couple of final strong pushes the team delivered the final product and continued to provide warranty support as agreed. We have since started new contracts for continued enhancements

At the highest point in the project the team had up to 7 people working on the project. They provided a Tech Lead/Consultant who ran the majority of the project from a business perspective.

They provided a Team Lead Developer who was the go to for all technical support issues as they arose. They provided a designer who built the wireframes and all other prototypes. There were at least 4 other developers who worked on the project. They also provided a DevOps resource to manage the production process and workflow.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The team successfully delivered the entire project into a Production environment in order for us to start to sell the product to our target market and continue to support the ongoing operation of the product.

The teams project management was setup right from the start of the initial call. They outlined their work in separate stages and the amount of work and resources needed to manage the project. I had asked the team to use JIRA to manage the specific work tasks as well as all error and bug reporting.

The team managed all of this process flawlessly. The team also uses Slack for ongoing communication and organization of resources. The team would also meet with me as required on Zoom to ensure that both teams were always on the same page.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As mentioned before I have worked with many offshore development teams such as Tata (TCS) and other big players in the market. Brain Inventory has the right people in the right places to help make everything seamless and smooth. Their processes are well defined and their communication is always on point.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If there was one area I felt they could have done better was some of their QA verification. There were times that they would report something as fixed but a quick test proved that this was not the case. This was discussed with the team at those times and the team make quick changes to ensure that it didn't happen.

We also added an additional step in the JIRA bug reporting to ensure that the developers posted proof that their fix was working in the environment stated. This improved the flow of work and the consistency of tested verified changes.
