Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

BMNA was tasked with being the primary front-end developer for each of our portal solutions, including the design and testing of a scalable and easily upgradable web infrastructure to support a variety of consumer devices. They devised a means to share overlapping dependencies between the closely coupled portal solutions which helped accelerate development and add features in a rapid time-to-market environment.

They also were able to scale a secure and private system for patients and physicans to order test and to view results.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

BNMA successfully developed our portal solutions in the timeframes requested and continued to enhance them over time. After our primary deployment, we moved into an iterative release cycle where new features were added and previous ones upgraded as needed. We had frequent touchpoints throughout each day and implemented Agile/Scrum to manage our releases ongoing after that.

BNMA was on-time and provided consistent and always clear updates on deliverables, changes or issues that arose. There was never a doubt as to where we stood in our progress and issues that were found in the development cycle were quickly resolved.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Communication, hard work and an eagerness to tackle every problem that we had for them. There was never pushback on a request, but always smart and detailed questions to further refine requirements or design considerations. They consistently provided reasonable expectations on deliverable timelines and met them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something BNMA Inc could have done differently?

It would have been good to have more test automation coverage but that has less to do with BNMA and more with our timelines and pushing to get to market.

I'm the founder and CEO of Type League Press, an E-Commerce company specializing in personalized home goods including drinkware and other home decor items.

For what projects/services did your company hire BNMA Inc, and what were your goals?

Every single order with my company is a personalized one-off item. Because of this, we had serious data entry problems because we processed every single order manually, requiring tens of employees and many, many hours to process a small amount orders. As a result, we hired BNMA to help develop a custom solution that could handle our needs and streamline this process to save time, money and have a higher throughput of orders.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were referred to BNMA through word of mouth, and after hearing the successes of other companies, we decided they were the right fit for us.

BNMA designed and developed a completely custom business solution that perfectly matched our needs. We first started with a few consulting meetings to go over our challenges and how these could be improved. Our initial thought was that this project would be so challenging, that we wanted to start with a small goal to complete first before moving forward to the next.

However, BNMA Inc exceeded our expectations, providing the required full solution right away. They provided this solution integrating platforms we already had in place, mainly within Zendesk and Shopify’s API. The project was completed in about a month, and the solution completely automated our data entry and order intake process.

There were 4 people on the team for this project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

With BNMA’s custom solution, we have now been able to completely eliminate the additional employees required for our order intake process. The solution has also fully eliminated any errors, as the data entry process is no longer manual.

Our business is seasonal, based around shipping deadlines for holiday delivery. Faced with these restrictions, we have been able to triple, almost quadruple our throughput of orders, ultimately being able to accept more orders and greatly increase our overall revenue.

BNMA had a great project management style, exceeding our expectations on final delivery and timeline. We communicated frequently through Slack for quick questions, and met consistently via Zoom to discuss progress on the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We had direct access to BNMA's team members, making it easy to communicate our thoughts and questions. They also responded to any issues quickly, and continue to do so if any questions arise about our solution.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While this project was delivered faster than expected and exceeded our expectations, we had hoped for a more solid timeline of the project for budgeting purposes. However, we did have a discussion before the project began that a custom solution may be difficult to predict in terms of timeline, and we understood this before proceeding.

BNMA did all of the backend mobile app and database development to make the app super scalable and stable.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Amine, who runs BNMA, is an absolute genius. You can have any CTO or tech advisor vet him and they'll tell you the same. It made outsourcing the app build so much easier since I had complete trust in what the end result would be.

Amine reviewed the app (which I outsourced to Serbia and tried to manage myself, resulting in a super buggy and barely-working product to be quite honest) and then took the specification and built the backend in Node.js and database in Postgres all from scratch! He can build anything, and is a brilliant architect so you'll have the base of your product rock solid.

My project was just Amine himself, but we're looking to expand to also lean on some Sr. Engineers that work for him.

The backend and database is beautifully architected and built out. I even had some CTO friends look at it and they said the same!

Amine is super communicative, and I always felt I knew what was going on and what progress was made. As someone who isn't an engineer, he was able to speak to me in terms I could understand and explain them in-depth so that I was fully knowledgeable about the build of my app.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Amine's ability to problem solve is outstanding. We had a database bug and I asked him to quickly look into that outdated codebase, become familiar as quickly as possible and figure out a fix. He did within 24 hours, while my other devs had tried for weeks and were unable to figure it out!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wanted to see more people on the team to have a greater breadth of skillsets, but they've hired a ton of amazing people in the last year to expand the team!
