The survey was ready on time and the users really appreciated the experience.

We were mainly communicating via email and conference calls. We were in touch on a daily basis to ensure the project preparation was going ahead as per our timeline.

They were very responsive and supportive. He also ensured that our timeline was respected.

We had some minor bugs at the release but they have fixed it as fast as they could.

Save the Children International Thailand worked with BlockChainLabds to design, create and provide maintenance support for an interactive dual-language reading application called Mula Baca باج مولا (translates as ‘start reading’), specifically targeting Deep South fathers.

Purpose of application:

Save the Children designs an innovative and interactive dual-language reading application:

1. to stimulate reading at home to create home-learning environment and improve children’s learning outcomes;

2. to encourage male-caregiver participation in early caregiving, through

• building incentives;
• establishing support community for male caregivers; and
• creating a brand that adopts the unique Thai Pattani-Malay multi-lingual identity and culture; and

3. to collect simple data on caregiver/child engagement and learning outcomes to measure/track change for children.

Their experiences in developing application. Capacity to deliver objectives, and value for money.

Three (3) main functionalities of the application includes: 

1.  Digitalisation of our dual-language story books (Thai–Melayu) to be tablet- and mobile-friendly, stored in e-library.
2. Social function, to help create support community and network of Deep south Fathers who champions male participation in early caregiving.
3. Discussion platform/forum (users can join discussions started/moderated by admin, or start their own discussions – approved by admin).

• Ability to create profile, log activities, like posts and follow other users.
• Incentives such as points/scores and badges.
• Standard games what be adapted to each book or reflect commonly used educative games.

Others:

• The app should be able to work online and (apart from the social function) offline
• In dual languages (Thai and Jawi script)
• Compatible to smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android)
• Basic tutorial when users first logged-in

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

1. The application was well developed successfully. However, the gap in communication such as understanding of the 3rd language suspended the development process time to time.
2. The timeline of the development was delayed, about 1 month that impacted the launching activities to be postponed as well.

The first half of the project was quite decent, with precise timeline on handing deliverables. However when it entered to the close-beta phrase, the project started to get delay.

Their attempt to fix the things done was impressive.

Omi International is devoted to creating an end-to-end real estate platform to solve the problem for realtors and property developers, using the latest cutting edge technology.

We needed expert help to develop a multiplatform system leveraging technologies such as AI, NLP, and Machine Learning.

BCL offers a wide range of services from branding and design, to development on multiple platforms (mobile apps, web apps etc.). The key decision-making point for us was BCL's transparent approach towards the project and their clear communication with us.

BCL built an AI chatbot using NLP for us. Also developed 2 mobile apps for both iOS and Android, in conjunction with a web app that is also mobile responsive.

BCL's team for our project was around 15 in total, including designers, developers, and business analysts.

We were able to rapidly develop a very complex platform. BCL was very responsive regarding our requirements and always offered top quality recommendations.

We communicated very frequently, almost every day if not twice a week. We were part of BCL's sprint reviews and planning as well.

BCL is a very talented group of experts, each specializing in their area, ranging from design, development, system architecture, QA and so on.

We selected Blockchainlabs.ai due to their expertise in Microsoft Development Stack especially in Azure and .net core

We work on them base on agile method which we split the each sprint into 2 weeks where there are retrospective / refinement once every week.

Blockchain lab .ai is responsible for configuring Azure Cloud and also make sure that the backend component of the application that they develop can run in both UAT and production environment.

The project went smoothly. We were able to deploy the solution on production and went live swiftly.

Project is ongoing but anecdotal feedback has been excellent so far.

With a changing business landscape during Covid we have been tweaking our offerings and BlockchainLabs has been flexible and responsive to our repeated requests.

We very much appreciated the personal touch and responsiveness to our requests. Their team was willing to come and meet in person when needed but also made themselves available electronically whenever we required some changes or updates.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If anything, we would have been open to more suggestions on how we could improve our webpage, particularly with the SEO, an area that is quickly changing and requires knowledge beyond our reach.
