I’m the founder of AnarsAtlas. We offer a mobile application that enables users to document their travels by identifying which countries they’ve visited.

What challenge were you trying to address with Benzatine Infotech?

Lacking the technological skills necessary to build the app ourselves, we hired Benzatine Infotech to help us get the project off the ground.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we struggled to put together an actionable plan to develop our platform. Benzatine Infotech guided us through the process as they built the application for iOS. The app’s primary function is to track the user as they travel through different countries. They programmed an interactive map within the app that gives users the option to select different locations and add notes. The user’s location and the number of countries they’ve visited is calculated within the software and displayed via the interactive map I mentioned earlier. Users can also upload photos and share updates with friends.

What is the team composition?

We primarily worked with a dedicated contact. However, they also give us access to their entire team.

How did you come to work with Benzatine Infotech?

We found them on Elance and instantly thought they were incredible. We quickly developed a productive rapport throughout our initial calls, so we hired them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2014 and they completed the project in roughly three weeks.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have anything negative to say about them. The app’s user feedback is generally positive. Any company with the opportunity to work with them is extremely fortunate.

How did Benzatine Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?

We had to overcome a lot of challenges, but they’re fantastic development partners. Their project lead is responsive and proactively communicated what the team needed to succeed. It was a pleasure interacting with that resource. They kept us updated regarding the project’s cost, so we felt assured they wouldn’t go over budget while also respecting our deadline. By utilizing Trello and Skype per their recommendation, we always knew the next steps in the process. Not having to constantly call our contact with logistical questions saved a lot of time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Benzatine Infotech is always looking for new ways to improve their communication methods. That’s demonstrated by their ability to internalize and address client criticism. Beyond being great professionals and a trustworthy team, they’re also lovely human beings.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve experienced an occasional technical issue or miscommunication. However, they learned from each mistake and never let a problem persist.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure each party understands how task requests are being handed off and assigned. It’s wise to spend extra time from the onset to communicate what’s required of them. Documenting and presenting a refined scope of work will save everyone time.

For what projects/services did your company hire Benzatine Infotech, and what were your goals?

We required a live, bug-free Android and iOS version of a currently successful Android (native) App using Flutter. Although content was provided, a redesign of the App was also required.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We posted a job on Upwork and received numerous responses. While budget was a factor, we just really liked the communication style of Brijesh who made first contact with us. It was easy and intelligent. When you will be working with someone new for a few months, it's so important to have a similar working style.

The fact that Benzatine Infotech were able to support us through app development, graphic design AND web / server support made it a no brainer.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Although not required, as Benzatine were recreating an App that was already live, I created a detailed brief which allowed us to structure milestones and use as a reference for any questions. While building the proposal for the full App development, we hired Benzatine Infotech to redesign the App in Figma.

The output was excellent. It was modern, yet simple. Exactly what we wanted. The team started dev on the App and constantly surprised me at their speed and they would often be waiting on me, rather than the other way round. The App was redesigned in Flutter which would allow us to release to both Android and iOS at the same time.

The team also made upgrades to the web server and app that supports the mobile app including upgrading to PHP7.4. This work was seamless and quick. Again, very happy.

How many resources from the Benzatine Infotech team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I mostly worked with Brijesh Vadukia who was our account manager. We did have direct communication with developers which sped up the process and allowed us to discover potential issues before they became problematic. Nice and open comms.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were happy with the delivery times of the project and the whole process was relatively stress-free

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We conducted all our communications via Upwork. Very open and honest. They understood our deadlines and tried to achieve them. I never felt we weren't a priority.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Communication and speed. I really wanted to find a new development partner that I could rely on and I believe we have. TBH, I just like Brijesh's vibe. He's a good guy and he gained my trust really quickly. I also felt like we were working together on the project.

If I wanted something added or could see potential improvement, I just had to point to potential solutions (such as alternative Flutter widgets) and the team would do their best. If not, we'd find another solution together.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. Again, just really happy :)
