Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the chief commercial officer at BioSistemika, a software development company of almost 50 employees. We primarily focus on laboratory software development and digitalization consulting services.
What challenge were you trying to address with Belkins?
We were looking to generate more meetings with potential prospects. Normally, we generate leads through events, during which we visit different vendors. However, COVID-19 has motivated us to find other ways of scheduling meetings.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Primarily, our goal was to schedule more meetings. Lead generation and the quantity weren’t as important as the quality of the meetings; it was about the quality of the leads and getting those leads to meetings.
Belkins had a really well-designed, detailed onboarding process to learn about our requirements. They got to know our company and what we wanted to achieve at the beginning of the whole process.
They sent us forms for us to fill out regarding the type of companies we were targeting, the size of the companies, and which people to contact within those companies. They also asked what the main value propositions were, as well as what the most common objections are that we’ve seen.
What is the team composition?
We have worked with three people: a salesperson, the key account manager, and the person in charge of actually arranging the meetings and contacting people. We are mostly in contact with the key account manager, who also takes care of the billing and addresses concerns if there are any. Our salesperson is in direct contact with their meeting generation person.
How did you come to work with Belkins?
We were already in contact with Belkins pre-COVID-19. They seemed like a very good option for us. Their approach is very different from what we had seen so far with lead generation outsourcing. Their onboarding process and methodology are what made us want to work with them. It was a very detailed process, and this is what convinced me that they were the right company to work with. All of that information is very relevant if you want to generate high-quality leads. I believe that this is a very useful exercise for companies that have not done their homework yet. For us, this was confirmation that they know what they are doing.

So far, we have spent a bit over €10,000 (approximately $11,800 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in April 2020 and lasted for a period of three months. We prolonged it for an additional three months because we are happy with the outcome.

I am not comfortable revealing any metrics, but I think that us prolonging the contract speaks in favor of their services. We do measure the conversion rates; however, the cycle time for closing deals with software companies is generally a bit longer. Since we’ve only been collaborating for five months, the numbers might not be relevant yet.
How did Belkins perform from a project management standpoint?
They are excellent with project management. I don’t have a single negative thing to say about this. They are very responsive and always on time. On the other hand, we are responsive as well, and this is important for them. You cannot just expect them to be responsive and then take a day to reply yourself. Both sides are very quick and determined in what they are doing and what they want to achieve.
We have a Slack channel with them. They are very professional in communication, and I really like that. They also take into account any feedback that we give them about the quality of leads and who they should target. We can switch to another segment in the middle of the month if we want to. They are very flexible, and I really appreciate that about them.
They work in tight collaboration with us. From the meeting onwards, we take over all of the meetings and correspondence.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I think it is their way of doing things. They are a very professional company in all aspects. They’re also responsive, and we have a great project manager.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They have it figured out quite well, and I cannot think of anything at the moment. There is always something to improve, of course, but I am not sure if I have run into this with them yet.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Potential customers definitely need to know what kind of prospects they are looking for. They need to do their own market research and business analysis before engaging with Belkins. Otherwise, they will ask all of the basic questions, so sooner or later, they will need to figure this out. Belkins won’t be able to generate good leads if they don’t know who to target and with what kind of message.
Within the first three weeks of launching the campaign with the Belkins team, the company saw improvements in their lead generation and were even able to close a deal. Thanks to Belkins their presence on social media channels like Linkedin is improving and their engagement rates are growing as well.
