I’m the executive director of ICOMOS Canada. Our organization works toward ensuring best practices and theories around cultural heritage conservation in Canada and around the world.

What challenge were you trying to address with Baytek?

We needed support for the development of our website and membership platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Baytek originally helped us design and develop our website and membership platform from scratch on WordPress. However, since I joined the project, they’ve been mostly in charge of maintenance work and updates. They handle the backend of our site, and they’ve helped us set up our membership data. Additionally, they’ve helped us a little bit with branding.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with three people from Baytek: a project coordinator, a person from tech support, and a person from their finance department.

How did you come to work with Baytek?

Baytek is a local company. We started working with them before I joined the organization.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $30,000 CAD (approximately $23,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

My organization started working with Baytek in 2017, and I joined the project in August 2020. Since then, we’ve maintained an ongoing relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Baytek has helped us maintain a healthy backend on our site, and they provide us with the support we need.

How did Baytek perform from a project management standpoint?

Baytek's project management has been fairly smooth; we’ve held an ongoing relationship with them for quite some time because we’re very satisfied with them. We primarily communicate via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Baytek's strength is their responsiveness; that’s the main reason we keep working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Baytek's price is a little bit high.
