I’m the VP of corporate services for Silverstream Technologies, a clean technology company that designs and produces systems for the marine industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Baseone?

We needed someone to provide us with business intelligence to gather core data around our business and present them in understandable and usable dashboards.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Baseone helps us identify and understand the data we want to present through their business intelligence and consultancy services. They’ve implemented an API so we can extract, access, and share data of all the current vessels within our system and see the operations around the world.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I can’t share any measurable metrics, but the team has been able to consistently fulfill the briefs we’ve been giving them, and deliver dashboards to demonstrate the power of BI reporting.

Thanks to them, we can now understand the possibilities for our business and take it further through internal resources or contract work. Moreover, our team has responded positively to the visualization of our data, which is very important.

Baseone did a really good job of capturing the important essence of our project in a clear manner.

How did Baseone perform from a project management standpoint?

They perform well from a project management standpoint, as they always keep us informed on the project. Our collaboration is quick, clean, and we’ve yet to experience any issues and challenges.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re impressed with their professionalism and how they made the relationship easy for us. They consistently understand our requirements and only ask relevant questions. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing they need to do is to make sure that they understand the competency level of their customers so they can communicate with them appropriately.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d advise you to be as clear as possible and give them as much information in advance to provide them with the best opportunities to succeed.

I’m a project controls manager at Axima, a logistics company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Baseone?

We needed a company that could provide us with data consulting support.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Baseone as a consultancy to help us develop from Excel into Microsoft Power BI system dashboards and provide us with data management support. Almost 90% of our data was produced in Excel, and that data was driven by things like Primavera P6 and BIM 360 tooling type work. Baseone came in to help us transform our reporting efforts from Excel into Power BI.

I initially provided them with a scope of work as well as a detailed analysis of our reporting processes. They then set up the linkage between P6 and other power tools, such as Power Query and BIM 360, and created automated dashboards for us to streamline our report production efforts.

We worked with two people from Baseone, including Matt (Director) and a data engineer.

How did you come to work with Baseone?

We found Baseone through a referral.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around £80,000–£100,000 (Approximately $98,000–$123,000 USD) on this project.

We worked together from July 2021–March 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We went from using Excel to using Microsoft Power BI, which was a massive step up in our reporting.

How did Baseone perform from a project management standpoint?

Baseone performed well in terms of project management. They were hard workers, and they worked closely with us throughout. We had no deadlines.

We typically communicated through Microsoft Teams and email. We had bi-weekly check-ins to review their work and progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed with Baseone’s attitude toward getting work done. They were excellent at coming up with innovative solutions and employing different approaches to solve our problems.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could benefit from having more consultants.

Make sure to provide them with a detailed scope of work to avoid misunderstandings and wasted time.
