Barking Cat Advisory is an independent ecommerce and commercial advisory practice for UK retail and consumer businesses, giving boards and private equity investors an operator's judgement before they commit to technology, transformation or growth investment. Founded by Steve Webster, who has run retail and ecommerce P&Ls since 1999 across the UK, EU, US and GCC, in founder-led, PE-backed and listed businesses.
Two diagnostics. The Barking Cat Review walks the proposition the way a customer does, eleven commercial lenses resolving to one binding constraint, in two to four weeks. The Barking Cat AI Diagnostic scores the operating model from the inside and names where AI pays back and where it is theatre. For private equity, four fixed-fee instruments from pre-LOI screening to exit readiness.
Barking Cat Advisory does not build, implement, select vendors on commission or place people. Fixed fee, stated in writing before instruction. Sometimes the honest finding is that you do not need what you are being sold.
