The scope of work involved modernising and consolidating our data infrastructure to support future scalability and cloud readiness. This began with the merging of two previously distinct databases into a single, unified data structure. The objective was to eliminate duplication, improve data consistency, and create a clearer source of truth across systems while preserving data integrity throughout the process.

As part of this consolidation, the databases were updated to the latest relevant database language and standards. This ensured improved performance, better maintainability, and alignment with current best practices, while also reducing technical debt accumulated from legacy implementations.

Following the consolidation and updates, the unified database was migrated to Supabase. This migration enabled a more modern, cloud-native setup, improving reliability, accessibility, and scalability while laying the foundation for future integrations and enhancements.

To support ongoing development and system interoperability, an API layer was built on top of the database. This allows our applications and services to interact with the data in a structured and secure way, and positions the platform to progressively move toward a fully cloud-ready architecture.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project delivered clear progress toward a more scalable and cloud-ready architecture. Two previously separate databases were successfully merged into a single unified data source, reducing duplication and improving data consistency across systems. The database was modernised to current standards, which improved maintainability and reduced technical debt associated with legacy structures.

Migrating the database to Supabase enabled a cloud-native setup with improved reliability and easier access management, while reducing manual overhead for maintenance and backups. The introduction of an API layer created a clean interface for data access, allowing downstream systems to integrate without direct database dependencies and enabling faster future development.

Collectively, these outcomes shortened development cycles for new features, reduced operational risk tied to legacy infrastructure, and established a foundation that allows the platform to scale and evolve more efficiently going forward.

Aveo’s project management was structured, responsive, and outcome-focused. Dedicated project managers coordinated timelines, deliverables, and communication effectively, which helped keep the project on track despite evolving requirements. Deliverables were generally met on time, and when issues arose, they were communicated early with clear mitigation plans. The team was attentive to our needs, responsive to feedback, and flexible in adjusting priorities to ensure requirements were fully met rather than rigidly sticking to scope.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was Aveo’s conscientious and respectful approach to customer requirements. Even as scope evolved, the team remained committed to understanding our needs and ensuring the work was completed properly, demonstrating strong technical ownership and a genuine focus on delivering the right outcome rather than simply closing tasks.

Are there any areas for improvement or something AVEO Global Ltd. could have done differently?

While the overall experience was positive, AVEO Global Ltd. could improve by providing greater visibility into project progress through more structured reporting such as Gantt charts, and by relying more on regular calls rather than predominantly using messaging platforms for coordination. Additionally, onboarding or closer guidance for less experienced team members could further improve consistency, though this was well supported by senior leaders when needed.

We hired AVEO Global Ltd. during the peak and crunchtime. The deliverables were:
- Finetune our genAI model based on customer feedback
- Address the core challenges when facing a LLM deployment
- Manage other resources

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We had two very complicated core problems when facing our model (these are inherent to LLMs; overfitting, hallucination etc)  for which we also got client feedback; more than anything these problems were addressed, and solved by the Aveo team member. He did not only solve this but also documented and actively identified other issues he could work on

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

• Aveo came in at the moment we were at peak and crunch time. We did not expect Aveo to integrate so quickly and run full speed. They actually started work before being engaged officially. This shows their dedication
• The sprint which we already planned before engaging them were seamlessly executed and even the member of Aveo identified new problems and pro-actively documented this
• During the Vietnamese holidays they kept work as they wanted this project to succeed. They do not feel like an external party but more like an extended team member who go out and beyond for you

Mindset, service and deciation. They go out and beyond; they trust you on your word and they even accomodated our requests with regards to payments and future planning.

As this point nothing; I hope they can further grow with us and expand in other countries where we are active
