I am the founder and executive creative director of The Miller Group - a woman-owned, culturally diverse branding and ad agency based in Southern California.

We hired Ashley to demonstrate to a prospective client our knowledge and understanding of their venue - captured in still photographs (photo journalistic style).

We selected her based on her wonderful lifestyle and food photography.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

Our goal was to convey to the prospective client the surprise and delight visitors feel at the hospitality venue, including the wonderful discoveries and magical moments they experience during their visit. Ashley was hired to capture the essence of the prospective client's venue, the retailers working within the venue and the visitors interacting at the venue.

Ashley was the one person from her team. She is the owner of the business.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Ashley's work was magical. She had a very limited amount of time and talent (no professional actors or models). She had a good eye for details and captured many moments quite beautifully.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

She was hard working, attentive to detail, a great listener and - obviously - a very talented photographer.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Ashley's responsiveness, amazing "can do" attitude, on top of her skills as a photographer. The team has captured the moments brilliantly and delivered results quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None!

I was a former director of the New York City Fire Museum.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio?

We needed someone who could photograph and document the entire collection of the museum, which had over 10,000 pieces.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio as a freelance photographer for the museum, back when I was still working there as the director.

Their responsibilities included taking photos of the objects in the museum, editing them, uploading them into a computer, and then putting in some information or basic descriptions of the photos.

We used those images whenever we needed to create advertising materials such as brochures or pamphlets, or whenever we had to do promotions on our website. We also used some of the images to create visual materials for our city’s tourism department.

What is the team composition?

I only worked with Ashley (Owner & Photographer).

How did you come to work with Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio?

We sent out a request for proposals for this project when we received a federal grant from 9/11 to document the objects in the museum. We received over 500 applications, but we ultimately went with Ashley because we thought that she was the only one who really understood what we were doing and had the relevant experience for it.

How much have you invested with them?

We paid Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio $16 per hour, and they worked 25–40 hours per week, so I’d say we spent somewhere under $10,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from December 2008–June 2013.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio definitely exceeded all of my expectations and went above and beyond the job description. Throughout our engagement, they were able to take photos of and document over 5,000 pieces from the museum, which was really impressive.

How did  Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio performed exceptionally well in terms of project management. They were always on time, and they worked independently throughout the project. We didn’t even have to train them at all at the beginning of the project — they’d already done commercial photography before so they knew exactly what they had to do from the beginning. Everything was well-documented and they always invoiced me properly and promptly.

We only communicated in person. I checked in on them regularly to see their progress and check if they needed anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was really impressed with how efficiently Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio worked and how quickly they learned everything. I really liked how organized and attentive they were and how they were able to find creative solutions to certain parts of the job.

They were also very trustworthy — they handled every piece carefully, and I knew that they could really be trusted in the space. Whenever they needed to make decisions on the fly, I trusted them to make the right decision.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to trust their judgment — they really know their craft and you could really trust them to execute your vision properly.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a Photo Curator on the Photo Studio Team at Netflix. My team oversees the Photography for Netflix Original shows and films.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ashley Corbin-Teich Studio?

We hired Ashley to curate stills for a new experience on the UI of Mobile devices. We needed to get through a large volume of images in a short amount of time, and Ashely supported us through the process.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Before hiring Ashley, we reviewed her resume, scheduled a live interview, and required her to do a Creative Test of photo editing. Her imagery selections, bright attitude, and attention to detail stuck out to us.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Ashely was giving a batch of several hundred short video clips. She had to find a video frame that could represent each clip as a thumbnail. Further details are confidential.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I solely worked with Ashley and her position was Photo Editor.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The thumbnail stills she curated were engaging and visually interesting. She adhered to the project guidelines and delivered on time. Further details of the project are confidential.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was seamless! Ashely was a great communicator and transparent about any issues encountered. We worked quite well together.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was impacted by Ashley's eagerness to get great work done in a timely manner. She is a great communicator and easy to talk to. She has an excellent eye for photography and design and it was easy to lean on her and trust her through the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I do not see any areas she needs to improve upon.

I am the Supervising Producer of Short Form Branded Content for a modern media company.

Ashley came highly recommended and was brought on to Produce and shoot the final photos needed to complete a project that had been in the works utilizing many internal resources at Tastemade. Ashley planned the shoot, collaborated with me on Creative Direction, shot the photography and retouched and delivered all photo deliverables requested.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

As I said, Ashley came highly recommended. She was interviewed along with 5 other candidates and her interview, skill set, portfolio and glowing references were all elements that led us to hiring her on. I am so glad we did.

There were many prongs to this project, Ashley's scope included Ashley planned the shoot, collaborated with me on Creative Direction, shot the photography and retouched and delivered all photo deliverables requested. Ashley brought in a great mix of logistical knowledge and creative expertise. She was exactly who we needed for this job.
