I’m the CEO of a nonprofit organization called Joshua Initiative.

What challenge were you trying to address with Arbutus?

We wanted to build an app for iOS, Android, and desktop.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Arbutus developed the platform. Their team built the app for desktop and mobile—iOS and Android. I developed all of the graphics and their team put them all together. They also implemented uploading capabilities. From the backend, I write material that’s delivered through the app, which is a game that helps families connect with the content that includes animated videos. With the platform, I integrate links to contact users, send push notifications, and plan events.

What is the team composition?

I worked with a technical lead.

How did you come to work with Arbutus?

Arbutus came highly recommended. Also, I was looking for a certain price, which they offered.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $20,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together at the end of 2017, and the partnership's ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still in the launch phase, so it’s hard to give metrics but the app has gotten five-star ratings on app stores. Arbutus has been fantastic. They’re awesome people.

How did Arbutus perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve communicated via Skype and Zoom. Arbutus has met deadlines and followed project guidelines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team gives one on one help. With most support, I’m dealing with somebody on the phone at best. Arbutus has been intimately involved with the project. They’ve made me feel that my project is their project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so. I’ve decided to continue working with them.

No, I don’t think so.
