Apptopia was engaged to develop a customized internal tool for our online retail cosmetics and beauty products company. The primary objective of the project was to optimize our product sourcing process by leveraging online searches to find the best deals on cosmetics and beauty products. The scope of work encompassed several key stages, from initial discovery to final deployment and support. 

• Discovery/Requirements Gathering: The project began with an in-depth discovery phase, during which Apptopia’s team engaged in detailed discussions with us to fully understand our business needs and objectives. They asked relevant questions about our product sourcing workflows, current challenges, and desired outcomes. This phase played a crucial role in shaping the tool's functionalities and features to align with our specific requirements. 
• Design: After gathering information, Apptopia's team worked on conceptualizing the internal tool's architecture and design. They presented us with wireframes and prototypes to illustrate the tool's user interface and functionalities. Throughout this stage, they ensured that the tool would be intuitive and user-friendly. 
• Development and Implementation: Once the design was approved, Apptopia commenced the development and implementation of our internal tool from the ground up. After the conceptualization phase, the project picked up pace. Their team seemed to know exactly where to go and what was needed. They provided us with a clear roadmap to completion of the project, with clear milestones which helped us visualize the final product, and they kept in line with the roadmap/milestones. 

Communication with Apptopia's representative was open and direct. They made themselves available to all our queries and actively engaged us in the project. After the conceptualization phase, we felt that their team completely understood our needs and way of thinking, and there was little need to request changes in the product

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

1. Their knowledge of their craft and their design creativity, going beyond what we expected for the tool/app, and adding to the UI design characteristics specific to our culture (that was a nice touch). 
2. Their real effort to understand our needs, our ideas, and where we came from.
3. Their friendliness (considering we are a very small company) and jargon-free communication, which helped us understand them better. 
4. They kept their promise of market-beating prices

Are there any areas for improvement or something Apptopia LTD could have done differently?

Would be great to clarify to us a little bit more about the discovery/conceptualization phase. During that phase, we felt they were taking too long to move to actual work and were asking too many questions. We came to understand later that this was their way of really taking the time to understand us, our business, and our needs. However, letting us know in advance that this is what they would do would help to make us less nervous about that phase.
