Our old database version 2.0 was written in PHP and was not modular. There were many non-functioning elements in that version. We needed to have the code rewritten in a modern code including MongoDB and HTML5 among others to make it modular and fully functional.

Deliverables:

Modular code; able to remove and add features on a client to client basis.
Make software fully functional including bugs and broken feature repairs.
User interface improvements and added features.
Client support ticket services

The software was delivered on time. There were a few unexpected issues switching from version 2.0 to 3.0 but the team responded quickly and worked diligently on the technicalities to get the software launched. The team was always available for virtually meetings or emails and communications was excellent.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

AppsWise Technologies understood how we use the software even though it was for an unrelated industry. They took the time to ask questions about what we do and how we expect the software to work for our needs.

The were quick to make adjustment to the software as they came up during the process and they also explained the requirements for maintaining the software in ways we could understand. The whole process was very transparent and open. Lastly they are really good people with strong work ethics who takes pride in their work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something AppsWise Technologies could have done differently?

Covid presented a challenge for us and AppsWise Technologies as we both had employees who were effected. Having more employees or a pool of qualified contractors on their end would have offset some of those issues. Also a more stringent testing process would be helpful to catch issues before they reach the clients. This project helped extend their reach into new areas but there was a learning curve.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and director of a software company that works on product ideas and builds applications to solve regular problems for the general public.

What challenge were you trying to address with AppsWise Technologies?

I was looking for someone to do software development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re working on a couple of products. We initially started with a small project but extended the collaboration to two builds. The first one is a medium for blogs. I shared the requirements with their team, and they had to come up with everything else, including the design.

The team used Angular, Express.js, Node.js, and MongoDB, which were all pretty much on AWS. While that stack is my personal choice, there are a few other things they recommended and implemented while developing the app.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with around three people from their team.

How did you come to work with AppsWise Technologies?

I knew the founder. I chose them because of their knowledge, technology, and DevOps. It was all in one package. The team takes care of everything from end to end.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our initial discussions around November 2019, and the work was completed in March 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was involved in the simultaneous testing while the new features were coming out. We had a few slight delays, but overall, I was happy with them when it came to technology. Because we are both smaller companies, it wasn’t too bad.

Everything was planned well. I come from a different technology background, but their founder explained their reasoning and advantages. The way they worked with their partners and customers was impressive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to transfer the requirements into the actual solution is impressive. Their design skills are great, and their technical team is quick, professional, and easy to work with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could work on their estimations; they’re a bit high.
