I am the CEO of a german e-mail provider. We provide reliable and secure e-mail services to customers in the UK, France, Switzerland and Germany.

For what projects/services did your company hire appsolute GmbH?

We initially hired appsolute GmbH to create our company's iOS- and Android-app due to lack of in-house resources. Over the years appsolute GmbH proved to be a reliable partner.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to integrate an advertisement network in our app for refinancing our free products and display two very specific types of adverts.

How did you select this vendor?

As stated we have been working with appsolute GmbH for several years now. The choice to continue this cooperation was an easy one.

Describe the project in detail.

We roughly outlined the specifics of this project and had appsolute GmbH start with the implementation early, as some aspects where not entirely clear at the beginning and depended on details from the ad network that was to be integrated. Since the SDK of that ad network was also still in development at the time of our project start we had to paralellize. As soon as we had the required information we provided it to appsolute GmbH which finished up the project in a timely fashion. A short testing period later the new release of our app was ready.

What was the team composition?

One project manager and developer on our side, two developers at appsolute GmbH. Also one project manager and the support team of the ad network.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After launch of the new release advertisement in our app shows as defined. We still have to find out how the proceeds develop.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

As usual the developers from appsolute GmbH were easy to work with and responded promptly to our feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The continuous reliability and flexibility as well as the consistent quality of work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

If anything, appsolute GmbH shoud try and grow.

Our Company provides travels via TV. We film the hotels in their destination, edit a short movie with all benefits of the offered travel included and provide it to the customers via TV, website and Apps

We hired Appsolute to create Apps for Apple.TV, Android.TV and Fire.TV. The Apps include a live stream, a media library, where you can search for destinations, Top Sellers, all product presentations of the last three days, also a search for our travel agencies and booking numbers and a favourites retention.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to spread our Channel to new media streaming portals to target new customers

How did you select this vendor?

I know some of these guys from school. Holger, the Founder is developping software from the early days on in the 80ies. I knew he could handle any requirement especially in connecting our database wrap it in any design and provide it to any operating system. I had a lot of trust because I knew him and his operating principle. The same trust I have in his team.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They implemented our plan completely. We asked for a fresher design and those functions: Media Library, Live Stream included, Destination search clustered by countries from A to Z, Product- Presentation Search clustered by broadcasts of the last three days, Travel Agency Search, as we have 230 travel Agencies branded sonnenklar.TV, Search for BookingNumbers and a favourites retention. We have an API and a big Data Base which had to be connected.

What was the team composition?

The team developped anything in these Apps, from design to the functional version. They even supported us to upload our Apps in the App Stores.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Especially the fire TV App helped us a lot, to bring our Channel in homes without cable or satellite TV.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Holger came personally to our company to discuss the realization with our bosses. We set up a functional specification document which was executed perfectly in a time of 4 weeks.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are open minded and throw in their own ideas. They worked with a plan and the time schedule was perfect!

Are there any areas for improvement?

In our case not. Good straight work for a reasonable price. We got exactly what we expected.

I am the founder of Tourlina. We develop and market an app for solo female travelers.

What challenge were you trying to address with appsolute GmbH?

We needed someone to develop the Android version of our application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

appsolute GmbH built our Android application from scratch. They are currently developing new features for the Android app that are already available for iOS. 

Since we started our platform four years, we’ve worked with an iOS-only developer who also handles the backend development. That’s why appsolute GmbH only oversees the Android version. We have the same features within both versions of the application, and we develop it in parallel. 

We are also currently developing a new chat system. We already had one but needed to replace it.

What is the team composition?

We have a team of three people. We’re in contact directly with the project manager and sometimes with the two developers as well. I am not sure if there are others in the background.

How did you come to work with appsolute GmbH?

We did some market research here in Germany and searched for people who could develop Android apps. We looked at three companies and took a look at what they were doing. appsolute GmbH showed us some examples of reference cases that looked extremely good and interesting. They had a good track record and aren’t that far away from us in Frankfurt—if we needed to see them in person, we could be there in one hour. The price was okay as well, so we chose their team.

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent €80,000–€100,000 Euros (approximately $88,000–$110,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in March 2017 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We always develop new functions when users ask for them, but we have had very little system errors reported by our users.

How did appsolute GmbH perform from a project management standpoint?

appsolute GmbH has been excellent. We most often communicate through Slack, phone, or email. For error tracking, we use Redmine.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their speed and responsiveness have been the most impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we have worked together for over two years, and there isn’t anything we would like to change or improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In the future, if we did this again, we would work only with one developer instead of having a separate team for iOS and for Android. In this case, we’d choose appsolute GmbH.
