I am the President and founder of Rae Technologies. My firm specializes in Consulting on Big Data and large scale cloud implementations, as well as some web and mobile application development which I generally offshore to Latam.
For what projects/services did your company hire Appalanca LLC?
I had found success int the past selling to some firms in Colombia, and was looking to expand my reach into other verticals and additional companies as and countries in LATAM. Someone suggested Appalanca to help me achieve this goal.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
The cultural knowledge and evidence of bridging a large number of Latam businesses with the US, as well as a certification program that all the businesses they work with are put through. Essentially a large scale due diligence was the deciding factor.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The Appalanca team initially met with us and did a deep dive on our offerings and skill sets as well as reviewed all our marketing and sales efforts. With this they developed a strategy including market research as well as lead generation and pairing me many companies in Latam throught their numerous tech summits (ionline and in person as well as virtual meets.
They have also helped with translation and marketing collateral tailored for the appropriate regions they wanted me to target. This has become an ongoing engagement.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with an account manager, a lead generation expert and their Latam country manager.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
My sales in the first year of engagement with Appalanca increased by 40% as well as creating a whole new segment to sell to from scratch. Efforts are ongoing.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication was one of the biggest differentiators. All cultural gaps I had were filled, All the principals spoke to me in fluent English and I was kept apprised of all matters via Phone, ZOOM and email.

Appalanca's internationalization skills are the best I've seen. I don't think theirs a firm out there that ever comes close.

At the beginning we struggled with gathering the requirements asked by Appalanca, but was resolved fairly quickly.
