We, collaborated with Aphelia on an e-commerce application, featuring inventory management, order and shipping management, and seamless payments integration. The project involved key deliverables such as design files, scope documentation, source code, deployment, and maintenance.

The outcomes of our collaboration with Aphelia were impressive, marked by only a few infrequent bugs in the application, which the team resolved promptly. The resulting software proved robust and scalable, meeting and exceeding our expectations.

I am an IT Product Manager and an ERP Executive at Skylark Hatcheries Pvt Ltd. I handle multiple application development projects for the company.

We wanted to digitize flock management for our customers, track their farm inventories via a mobile device, generate automated reports on the mobile and the web application, and get purchase orders from our customers.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for a reliable software development firm who can deliver in a lower budget and maintain top development quality. Aphelia had a great work portfolio and the quotation for project was in our budget along with a well defined project plan and timeline which made us choose them as our software development outsourcing partner.

The project had a vast scope. In a nutshell, mobile app had features like mobile/OTP authentication, flock management, tracking inventories in/out, reporting feature, feed ordering. Web app had features to track progress of flocks, view/generate farm analytics reports, assign verification officers to farms, receive feed orders, export reports to excel, maintain farmers, verification officers, farm doctors user data.

We worked with the team to define a high level and a low level scope of the project. We went on to the design phase where the UI/UX Designers collaborated with us to create sketches, wireframes, and UI design along with design prototype. The project went into the development phase after design finalization where the team initiated the development of both mobile and web application.

The technologies that were used for mobile development was Native Android(Java). The application's backend was developed on NodeJS using the PostgreSQL as the database. The web application was built using ReactJS. During the project a continuous manual QA testing was done and was reviewed by us on a staging server. Finally, the application was deployed on the internal nginx server of Skylark, and file storage server AWS S3.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to digitize more than 20 processes, doubling our efficiency. Nearly 10,000 users including skylark employees, and customers are using this application. The application is distributed on using play store and using shareable links.

The project was executed using waterfall methodology, had regular meetings on Google Meet for the status updates. We had Jira and excel sheet to track the project. Phone call were also made to quickly check on project and for quick feedbacks or clarifications. We also had a WhatsApp group for easy communication with the team as WhatsApp was convenient was us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Apart from their excellent technical expertise in mobile and web development, the team was flexible and cooperative with us in term of project scope. Since we came up with many feedback throughout the design and development phase, the team accepted it and implemented it without much issue or cost.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Team could have made the status reporting more frequent so that our feedback would have been passed to the team on time.

I collaborated with Aphelia on an internal Order Management and Analytics system, featuring inventory management, order and shipping management, to ensure that the incoming orders are prioritized and prepared efficiently. 

The system also had an analytics dashboard that allowed my team to analyze which of our menu items were performing better, with various parameters and differentiators. It was based on React and Node.js with PostgreSQL as the database. The project deliverables were scope documentation, design prototype, code, deployment, and maintenance.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I am pretty happy with the work that Aphelia Innovations has delivered. Haven’t faced any issues or bugs so far. The interface is pretty intuitive and the application is fast. The application has never been down yet, so I am happy with it.

Agile Project Management style was followed using Jira tool. Primary communication was done on Slack while official communication was done through email. Documentation on Google Docs and Slides. The application was delivered on time.

The team was very accommodating to my feedback and never complained about any changes. Also, they had a good intuition regarding software conventions and guided me wherever my suggestions were breaking software conventions. 

Working with them was easy, they did not annoy me with any technical jargon, which I have faced with other companies in the past. One big plus was that their PM was very strong with data analytics and helped me understand what kind of analytics would be suitable for my business.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Aphelia Innovations could have done differently?

Cannot think of anything as such. I am pretty happy with the engagement. Pricing was competitive so no complaints there as well.

Merg is a cloud based, omni channel, API driven platform. It is built using the latest web, mobile and AI technologies. It uses a number of proprietary and patent pending models for enhancing virtual meeting collaboration. Initially, we collaborated with Aphelia on the ideation and business development of our idea, and they further designed and prototyped it to lay the groundwork for development. 

We could visualize and play with the Figma prototype of the product, which helped us understand and ideate the product better. When we were satisfied with the look and feel of the product through the design prototype, we took the product into development. Their developers were a part of the unified development team that architected and developed the solution. 

The product management and QA were also executed by Aphelia. The product design and development were executed in an Agile environment, with regular product status meetings to ensure that the team was on track. We were timely shared with the product documentation such as the Business Requirements Document, Design and Prototype File, Testing Documentation, etc.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

First and foremost, the project was delivered within the agreed-upon budget and timelines, showcasing the efficiency and commitment of the team. This timely delivery allowed us to seamlessly present it to potential clients and investors. The platform met or exceed our stated goals for Beta, Pilot launch and production, both in terms of user satisfaction, adoption and revenue. 

The software not only met but exceeded our expectations in terms of functionality, reliability, and user-friendliness. Our end-users have provided overwhelmingly positive feedback, noting the enhanced user experience and the software's ability to streamline their collaboration. 

From a technical standpoint, the application met all non functional requirements for security and performance e.g. at launch, it had an average response time of less than 100 ms, and real-time content synchronization was also smooth and lag-free.

While the overall experience with Aphelia was highly positive, suggesting a bit more proactive communication on project timelines could further enhance coordination. However, this minor aspect doesn't overshadow the excellent work and commitment displayed by the team.

We do stock market analysis for investment purpose . These analyses were derived from excel sheets using complex algorithms. We wanted to make these analyses faster, more flexible, and more scalable. We decided to get an enterprise web application developed to achieve these goals and for this we hired Aphelia Innovations

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We focused on selecting the vendor who were experienced enough and were in our budget. Aphelia fulfilled both our criteria as they had good past experience and their cost of project was in our budget

The application fetches real-time stock market data and derives analytics using inbuilt powerful algorithms. Provides Historical, Periodic, SMA, Crossover, and After Effect Analysis. Provides visual color comparisons. Import history data from excel sheet and APIs. Generates daily reports of each stock. They started with gathering technical requirements and created a scope document. The design of the project started with low fidelity wireframes followed by high fidelity wireframes using Figma.

On our approval, they created a Final UI with complete protoyping. Once we approved the Final UI, then they started development process. The development work included backend development using NodeJS, Database on PostreSQL, and frontend development on ReactJS. They wrote test cases and tested the entire application while development was in progress. Finally they deployed the application on a staging server, followed by a production server where we started testing and using the application respectively.

We migrated to the application from excel sheets for our day to day operations. The application is robust, and scalable which eventually helped us achieve our purpose to increase the overall efficiency of our work. It was a good return on investment.

It was a Hybrid style based management and they called it as phases such as design phase, development phase, etc. with frequent product demonstrations. We were communicating on emails, excel sheets for status reporting, phone calls and WhatsApp group chat. They were using interal tool JIRA for their PM.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I liked most about Aphelia was that we had a very good relationship with them and had a awesome understanding between us regarding the project. Apart from that, we never faced any technical issues that they were not able to solve. They had great technical knowledge and good industry expertise. We are in talks with them to take this application further to next level

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some feature ideas were discovered by us when we started using the application, I think these could have been brought up by the team in the ideation phase
