I am the CEO and co-founder of a technology start-up. We build AI/ML platforms that let local government and smart cities leverage commodity CCTV and transform them into smart sensors, capturing real-time traffic and active travel data from the physical world.

We worked with Antagosoft to completely overhaul our web app that lets our customers view to access the data that we produce and visualise it to help drive decision making. Antagosoft were responsible for the complete re-design and development of the platform which is built using React/NextJS.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We met Russ through a mutual contact and we were immediately attracted to their flexibility and willingness to accommodate our ways of working. Initially, we were using freelance resources which we had selected ourselves and we needed an agency that would fit that model. Over time, we were so pleased with the results that we transitioned to using Antagosoft exclusively for our web development and design.

Antagosoft was charged with the complete design and development of our web platform, which allows users to access and visualise the data that we produce, manage their accounts, commission traffic surveys and to buy further subscriptions.

The nature of our platform means that we have a number of custom UI and data visualisation elements including a number of complex interactive maps and various custom input tools to allow users to calibrate cameras and surveys.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Working with Russ and the team has been a fantastic experience. We've achieved more in a couple of months that we did in the proceeding 6 using our own sourced freelancers. We are consistently blown away by the quality of the work and the speed at which it is delivered. This experience has opened our eyes to the art of the possible, and we will continue using them for the foreseeable future.

Communication has been great throughout. The team have adopted our management tools really well, including Clickup, Teams and Figma. We meet once a week for a quick catch-up but generally, all communication flows seamlessly through the tools we are using.

Quality of output - our app is 100x better than when they started Speed - sometimes I worry how much they must be working to deliver at this pace!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Seriously, we have no complaints. The only way it could be better is if they were sitting in our office :)

The team looked at our existing mock ups on Framer and created a project decomposition document. We used Trello for tracking and Slack for comms. The UI was mocked up in Figma and shared with comments etc.

We are happy with the output and are currently using the screens and the prototype to seek investment. Feedback from viewers has been positive.

It was highly collaborative with bi-weekly meetings and constant feedback via the tooling.

The team are based in Ukraine where there is currently a war on. We were so impressed at how professional the team were, how they were always on time, how productive they were, and how they as people were always positive and always so friendly to meet!

Maybe the process flows could be documented as flow diagrams / visio etc. but it was not really required.

We were struggling to deliver on our product roadmap and Antago helped us by assigning a dedicated development team. The team included a frontend developer and a backend developer. We also had support from a tester and project manager.

Their goals were to deliver product features alongside our inhouse team. They had to work together and negotiate technical requirements and propose solutions as well as deliver the finished product.

Andtago was referred to me by an industry aquantance who used them before. He said they were 100% committed and professional which was very important to us. We evaluated the CVs of the developers who were available and selected two of them based on their skills and experience.

The Antago team worked alongside out inhouse team. They were assigned tasks from the same backlog and followed the same development process. They attended standup meetings where we discussed the next deliverable that was due. They asked questions and completed research into the stated requirements and any technical dilemas.

They pushed code to our company git repository by creating pull requests which were reviewed and integrated into our main development branch by the same process as our internal staff. During the time they worked on the project they delivered 10 new features to help photographers enter metadata into a digital asset management system. They also solved some infrastructure challenges around email delivery.

The delivery of assigned tasks was very fast and the team readily accepted feedback and was quick to action it. The team was genuinely motivated, curious and wanted to integrate with us and adopt our practices and culture. I found it easy to communicate with them over slack and video conferences.

We used JIRA to assign and describe tasks. They were proactive in asking questions through JIRA comments which was great. They attended standup meetings and came prepared with good relevant questions. They readily accepted feedback and were quick to action it.

Rus was great at checking in with us to make sure everything was going smoothly and was quick to suggest and offer improvements when the project was facing minor issues.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was impressed with their level of motivation, which I found to be unparalleled in the outsourcing world. They also seemed to maintain good focus and generally delivered on time with little or no rework needed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We occasionally ran into communication issues due to the highly specialised nature of our domain (professional prohotgraphy). Sometimes we had to adjust the way we set out requirements to make them clearer. This was only at the very start of the project and the team quickly picked up the jargon and started using it themselves.

We were looking for a developer to implement the redesign of the agency website. We wanted the site to be developed in HTML/CSS rather than a CMS like WordPress.

We looked at reviews both on Clutch and on others, then we approached Antagosoft, described the project, and requested a proposal. They got back to us the same day and demonstrated a thorough understanding of the project.

We provided Antagosoft with Figma files from our designer, and they quickly responded with a cost estimate and timelines for the pages. Deliverables were an archive of site HTML/CSS files including task runner instructions so we could do testing before publishing the site on our hosting provider.

We worked only with Antagosoft's point of contact which was the manager of the project.

After receiving the files we proceeded to test the site on our side but found no errors. The style and code were 1:1 of the design files.

The project manager initiated an initial call with us on Zoom to gather requirements, and thereafter communication was via email. We were satisfied with the manager's efficiency and communication style.

They are a professional outfit. They were very transparent and easy to contact and communicate with. We look forward to entrusting bigger projects with them in the future.

We cannot think of anything they could have done better. They actually finished the project faster than expected which pleased us.

The project management was always effective and they were responsive to feedback for improvements. They were able to scale as needed, worked effectively alongside our internal team, and were overall great partners.

Video conferencing calls could be challenging at times if the connection or hardware were not setup correctly, but that is easy to resolve. Otherwise, awesome work!

They used a clear scrum methodology so we knew when the project would be finished, how it would be finished and who was involved. Antagosoft involved the client in the process, including determining user stories, so every small detail was fully discussed before it was executed.

They are talented, easy to work with, and reliable. They communicate clearly and the site they built for us works perfectly.

The visualization process of moving from a concept to a design took longer than I thought it would. They did a wonderful job, but the designer should be able to ask they key questions before the client notices a problem. They would benefit from improving their design logistics.

The interview was a total match - the developer shown himself not only a brilliant professional, but also an easy-going, open and motivated person - a real team player we looked for.

It was a full-cycle development, so project started with regular BA/Design stage and once the requirements to first features were ready - development started. There was a backend side developed by a third team and there was a need to build a mobile application integrating with it which was a challenge sometimes, but the one the team overcame - with the help of Antagosoft.

To cut it short - under budget and on time + fully satisfied clients. This was one of the best endings we had with our projects. The mobile application is going to be released in the very beginning of 2023.

The developer followed out in-house procedures, but there were not new, so the communication, work on the tasks and coding as well as collaboration with other teammates was smooth. While, in terms of our collaboration regarding outstaffing I communicated with Antagosoft manager. This communication was as well easy and efficient.

There was no question developer did not have answer for. It's a wow.
