Our Story

Ananyoo started in 2003 as M/S. Anblik, a small web design company in Kolkata, India. We kept seeing websites that looked fine but could not be used with a screen reader or a keyboard alone, so we made web accessibility our main work. The founder is a DHS Trusted Tester and our colleagues hold IAAP certifications. We test by hand the way real users do, fix the code ourselves, explain in plain words, and give back through free WordPress accessibility plugins and accessible themes.

Tested by hand, not only by tools

Every page is checked with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack, keyboard only, browser zoom and a contrast analyser. Automated tools like axe, Lighthouse and WAVE find only a part of the problems. We find the rest the way real users would.

We fix the code, not only report it

Most audits end with a long PDF. Ours ends with the failures fixed in the theme, plugin or app code, a clean re-test of every WCAG 2.2 criterion, and a VPAT or accessibility statement if you need one.

All communication is in writing, by email or through the Clutch messaging system, so every decision is recorded and nothing is lost. You get a reply within one working day, and usually much sooner during Indian working hours. Every audit ends with a written report that lists each WCAG 2.2 failure with the page, the element, the success criterion, a screenshot and the exact fix. During remediation you receive short progress notes as pages are completed, and at the end a re-test report that shows each criterion as pass or fail.

We keep the number small on purpose, normally three to five active projects at a time. Manual accessibility testing with screen readers cannot be rushed, and each page has to be checked by hand. A small number of projects means your work gets the founder's own attention and does not sit in a queue.

Four kinds of work suit us best right now. First, WCAG 2.2 AA audits with remediation for US businesses that have received an ADA demand letter or want to avoid one. Second, state and local government, school and university websites preparing for the ADA Title II web accessibility rule. Third, agencies who need a white-label accessibility partner to audit and fix the sites they build for their own clients. Fourth, accessible builds and fixes on WordPress, Shopify and BigCommerce, including custom themes and plugins. We also prepare VPATs and accessibility statements. Small and medium projects are welcome; a single landing page or a single app screen is fine.

We test against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This covers the WCAG 2.1 AA requirement of the ADA Title II web rule, Section 508 and the European EN 301 549, plus the newer 2.2 criteria. On request we also check selected Level AAA criteria. Testing is done by hand with JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack, keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom up to 400 percent and the Colour Contrast Analyser, and then cross-checked with Deque axe, Google Lighthouse and WAVE. The founder is a DHS Trusted Tester, so the audit follows the Trusted Tester test process wherever it applies, and colleagues hold IAAP certifications.

Yes. Many of our US clients come to us after a demand letter. We are not lawyers and do not give legal advice, but we can do the technical part quickly and properly: a full WCAG 2.2 AA audit of the pages named in the letter and the rest of the site, fixing the failures in the code, a re-test report that you and your attorney can use as a record of the work done, and an accessibility statement for the website. Everything is delivered in writing, so it can be passed on to your legal team as it is.
