We needed help with web dev for our business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Alexander Ramsey Creative has been doing web development and design for us on WordPress. We offer that as part of our list of services, and Alexander (Owner) takes care of it as subcontractor work. The tasks also include maintenance, publishing, and hosting for the platforms.

In terms of the design, we collaborate to achieve my customers’ ideas — they apply our professional expertise to expand upon their requirements.

Regarding the sites’ functionalities, they primarily develop shopping carts, HR features, and plug-in options, among others.

What is the team composition?

We only work with Alexander.

How did you come to work with Alexander Ramsey Creative?

Alexander used to work for us. After that, he continued by himself, but we liked the good relationship with him. Naturally, we decided to work with him on an independent basis.   

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $200,000 with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2015, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our clients have been nothing less than thrilled with his work; he’s responsive and knowledgeable, which is what people need to solve website issues. It’s important to have someone that solves problems fast, and that communicates well — it’s been a pleasure to work with him in all aspects, and we’re 100% satisfied with how he has exceeded our expectations.

How did Alexander Ramsey Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

He’s great at project management in terms of sticking to schedules and budgets. In terms of communication, we use phone calls, email, and Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

The fact that we deal with the company owner is one of the strong points of the engagement; that allows Alexander to achieve things at an exceptional speed.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything he can improve on — working independently is a great advantage for him, and we’re delighted with the timeliness he can achieve through that.

Reach out to him and explain what you’re looking for; he’s personable and professional and will deliver if you tell him what you’re expecting.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I own a small video production company that produces custom media content for churches, schools, and Christian organizations. Most of our work is for fundraising, promotional, and instructional purposes.

For what projects/services did your company hire Alexander Ramsey Creative, and what were your goals?

We have hired AR Creative on multiple occasions for various media production projects. The reason for working with AR Creative is for graphic design and motion graphic design for video projects. The specific goals of each project are different, but there are always goals of efficiently communicating a message in a beautiful and engaging way that fits within the certain style of the project.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Alexander does beautiful work that is top notch. For us, the Christian aspect of it is important, as we are communicating various Christian ideas and values. He understands that and can, therefore, effectively create appropriate content that speaks that language.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

I provided Alexander with the base artwork for the project, which was created by and provided to me by our end client. Then I let him know specific deliverables were needed for this video series that we were producing. Alexander then created beautiful motion graphics, which matched the look, feel, and style of the original artwork for the project.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked directly with Alexander Ramsey. He produced the deliverables and feedback was given. Appropriate changes and tweaks were made until we reached a final product that served the overall project well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The final product that we produced together has since been completed and is being used by churches all over the country. I have no doubt that the attractive look of the project, thanks to AR Creative, is a big factor in churches deciding to use the content within their congregation.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Alexander was easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates on the progression of the project. We communicated mostly via email and over the phone in order to discuss certain in more detail--ideas that are sometimes difficult to communicate effectively via email.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I provided Alexander with the base artwork for the overall project and he ran with it. They created an entire branding package for the video series that fit the goals of the look and feel extremely well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything went smoothly and I could not be happier with the final product.

I’m the VP of a lumber and building materials dealer and manufacturer. I oversee our daily operations at our modular home division; I also handle various aspects of our retail division.

We needed a website refresh and hired Alexander (Owner & Creative Director) for the project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Alexander has worked on the total rebuild of several web pages. I supplied him with content. To be clear, he created a completely new platform and website. In the process, he used much of our old content while also developing new ones. The website was built on WordPress. 

At present, Alexander has done the heavy lifting for us. We can go into the website and make changes as we need, but if we need to build more features for the website, he’s ready to assist us. We also have some minor projects with him. 

What is the team composition?

We mainly work with Alexander. A few people work with him in the background, but he’s our primary contact.

How did you come to work with Alexander Ramsey Creative?

We found Alexander by searching for companies across the country. Our team did some investigations that way; we spoke with other companies that used his services before. Ultimately, we decided to hire him because of his incredible work. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $30,000–$40,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Alexander in October 2018. The website was launched in May 2019, but we continue to work with him on a few minor projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

To measure success, we track the leads that have come to our website since the refresh effort. Essentially, our leads have tripled. Part of that increase has come from the current market situation, but it’s also because of the website’s ease of use and navigation. In other words, Alexander has designed a user-friendly website, so we’re seeing a significant increase in our leads. 

How did Alexander Ramsey Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Alexander’s project management is top-notch and phenomenal. We’ve met our deadlines if not ahead of schedule. We’re also on budget. Alexander is truly inquisitive when it comes to the scope of the project, which helps him prepare for the work and timeline. He does research upfront to meet everybody’s expectations. 

In terms of tools, we use milestone checkpoints where Alexander gives us target dates. He also uses a tool to send us drafts, where we can access the page he’s developing and make comments on it. The tool also notifies Alexander of our feedback. Overall, working with him has been an easy process. To communicate, we’ve used phone calls and emails. We also use Zoom. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Alexander is conscientious in what he tells the customer; he’s a straight shooter, and he knows what he’s doing. He also has integrity and delivers his promises, which is the most important thing when doing this type of project.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any. I’m impressed with the whole process; it’s extremely well done.

What challenge were you trying to address with Alexander Ramsey Creative?

We were a small startup in 2016 and wanted to expand our marketing efforts and enhance our web presence. Traditional marketing in the construction industry isn’t beneficial since most companies garner business through their long-standing reputation. So, when we came onto the market, we had to compete with companies that’d been around for hundreds of years. We needed to develop a brand that would set us apart from the competition and appeal to a younger generation of builders.

Alexander Ramsey Creative helped us develop our logo, brand, website design, and marketing tools. At the beginning of our engagement, we had several meetings with Alexander Ramsey Creative to discuss our expectations. They then delved into our history and business goals to develop a recognizable, lasting brand that could be used across our marketing materials and website. 

Now, Alexander Ramsey Creative hosts our website and continues to edit the website materials. The team also refreshes our marketing materials to reflect our changing industry.

We’re a family company and wanted a brand that reflected that. So, we did a quick internet search for firms with rugged, rustic logos. We saw some of Alexander Ramsey Creative’s previous work with similar brand identities. I reached out to Alexander via email and he responded in minutes — that was the beginning of a long working relationship.

We’ve invested $5,000–$10,000 with Alexander Ramsey Creative. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Alexander Ramsey Creative in March 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

New employees and clients are really impressed with our clean branding and how the site stands out from the more traditional contractors in the area. We are set up as the next generation of builders in the DC area. Alexander Ramsey Creative’s work was essential to creating a brand that teams want to work with on construction projects. 

How did Alexander Ramsey Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

Alexander Ramsey Creative tailors the project management to our needs — everything is managed simply through emails, text messages, phone calls, and Zoom and Google Meet meetings. We work directly with Alexander, who is extremely responsive and has excellent attention to detail. He always ensures our edits are made quickly and works within our budget. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Alexander’s creativity really sets Alexander Ramsey Creative apart. He gives each project a personal touch, which is crucial to us as a smaller, family-run business. It was challenging to pick a logo because they all fit our company, which speaks to his ability to reflect a company’s story into their branding. Alexander is very friendly; he meets tight deadlines without causing undue stress — it’s a privilege to work with him.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Working with Alexander Ramsey Creative is easy — future customers just need to relay their company’s story to him, and he can turn it into amazing imagery and branding.
