My company is a woman's functional health brand, focused on cannabinoids and mushrooms, paired with a 1-on-1 education service. Our mission is to be the modern support system for women, and we've served hundreds of thousands to date. I am the co-founder and chief product+tech officer.

Andrew of 84EM has worked on my company with me for over 3 years. He has always been our backend star. His goal was to always move our tech forward for the business given we've grown so quickly - partially thanks to him!

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

He was referred by a trusted colleague, and he had passion for our mission. I chose to work with him because he was clearly brilliant.

Our stack is very custom - WP + Woocommerce and tons of API work, used as a webapp engine of sorts. Andrew has been key to the build out of what we have today, accommodating so many business needs that nobody really thought could be possible on our stack. Our investors are always impressed.

Andrew as a senior software engineer/backend lead.

I feel confident that their work has meaningfully contributed to our extreme growth. He's also made many processes more efficient and saved our butts in many emergencies.

Andrew is fast to communicate, can multi-task, and always adds to a conversation. Rarely has he ever missed a deadline; I can't even think of 1 time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The brilliance. Even the other day, Andrew figured out how to take my desired "from A to B" and do it in a way that was faster, cleaner, simpler than what any of the rest of us had brainstormed. He is such an awesome problem solver.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I am usually very direct with feedback yet I don't really have anything to put here!

Developed an entire online ecosystem built in WordPress for a medical consulting company from the ground up. Mapped out, designed, developed, and supported project for the past 4 years exquisitely and without ANY problems!!

Develop an API to power a consumer facing website. Multiple data sources were used. 84EM standardized the endpoints, mapped the data, created error handling, and logs. The website is high traffic and is in a regulated industry.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

84EM was a past colleague. His ability to solve problems and explain solutions/issues in non-technical ways is second to none.

It was a rush to the finish line with numerous last minute requests for 84EM. The project was a complete success with all parties pleased.

Deadlines were always met. When new challenges arose (ie: last minute new data source), 84EM was up for the challenge and worked diligently to make sure the project would still launch on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

84EM is technical by nature, but has the ability to speak and explain in layman's terms. He also has a sense of humor, which makes all projects much more enjoyable.
