What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At the time of this review, we are almost ready for sending this project to production, and with the UI and different functionalities developed from scratch, that already shows a big progress. A complete and smooth customer checkout flow and a detailed business overview from the admin side, it can already be considered a success. This project has still a long way to go for future additional functionality developments, and definitely would love to have Yuvasoft alongside all throughout.

I find it easy to discuss the project with them as they do have a good understanding about what the client needs (even for a not-too-techy person). They clarify everything before taking any major actions - which saves time compared to doing without fully understanding and redoing it later. 

I appreciate that they really do think about what's best for the client and the users, and give sensible suggestions. The task list is observed, and there are regular updates about the progress of each task. Everything is well-organized.

They are professionals, friendly, and all great at their work. They are not working just to complete the project, but make sure every nook and corner are in good shape. They do take time to understand your business fully. They have a very good communication within their team and I can say they have great teamwork. 

Aside from skillful developers and team leaders, their Director is also hands on in the project, keeping an eye on the progress. Additionally, they are really nice individuals. It seems to me that the company also values the individual characters, and not just the skills.

I can't think of any area for improvement at this point. So far, I am happy and satisfied with the overall experience.

To kick off the project, we provided the team with full designs as well as functional requirements. The app was developed in React and the team worked through tasks in our project management software. The app went through a testing phase and bugs were fixed through the same pm software.

The app itself is being reviewed by the client company and going through user testing. It will be used as part of a national initiative to educate and improve the dair industry.

We used Microsoft Teams for daily communication and had video calls 3x per week to discuss progress, questions or issues. The team was always prompt to respond and asked for clarity when necessary.

They were happy to make suggestions based on their knowledge and it was helpful to have solutions presented when certain details had been missed in the design.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

A bit more insight into the planned architecture of the software at the start would have been helpful.

For this project, Yuvasoft Solutions has covered backend development for one customer that we've been unable to cover. We've brought on their developers to work in Ruby on Rails. Our in-house team has done the frontend development.

We started working together on this project in December 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.

We're getting very good feedback about Yuvasoft Solutions' deliverables from our customers and users. The quality of their work is very good. 

How did Yuvasoft Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We have an in-house project manager who handles the partnership with Yuvasoft Solutions — he manages all the communication with them and our customers. Yuvasoft Solutions' resources always communicate well in our customer calls. We use Slack, Skype, and Google Meet to communicate. The project is managed via Jira.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Yuvasoft Solutions is good at executing projects according to our timelines; they never have issues meeting our deadlines. Their team is very responsible and responds quickly to our customers.

We're working with many vendors, so I can't pick out something specific for them to improve.

If customers can afford Yuvasoft Solutions' resources, they should hire them to provide development services for their clients.

What challenge were you trying to address with Yuvasoft Solutions Private Limited?

I had a personal project that I needed help with. I wanted someone who had end-to-end experience in developing and releasing the app into the market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I hired them to build a mobile app for me. It’s an idea that I and some of my friends are working on — it will be a dating app but different from others in the market. They built the app for both iOS and Android, and they even suggested we use a technology that could cater to both platforms and is easy to maintain. They ended up using React Native.

Initially, we got a set of designs from them. We had ideas in mind that we sketched on paper, but we needed someone who could actually design the app for us. They gave us a senior designer who gave us all the visuals and sketch files, which we reviewed and gave the go-ahead to — they then built the app.

At seven milestones, they released the app on the test platform using TestFlight. My friends and I had both Android and iOS phones, so the APKs are based on both mobile. We used the platforms to test the application, and they also gave us a cloud capability by posting all our parts on AWS — all our APIs are sitting in AWS. They did the backend and frontend work, set up the databases, and also helped us with Google Ads and payment providers into our app. 

With the features they implemented, users can make payments using PayPal or Mastercard/Visa — they can also use their social credentials to log into Instagram and Facebook. We have Google Ads integration right now but also have a subscription facility.

We got to know Yuvasoft Solutions Private Limited on LinkedIn and we engaged them to see if they could help us build our mobile app. We liked that they could deliver all the specifics of the project, and they were also very good with the cloud providers.

We actually interviewed a few other companies but with the price point and capabilities that they offered us, we found Yuvasoft Solutions to be the best — they also gave us an offer to maintain the application for a few months after they delivered the code.

We spent $10,000 AUD (approximately $7,400 USD).

We started working together in January 2020–January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It was a really good collaboration with them. The apps haven’t launched yet, because we’re still discussing amongst ourselves if we need to add a few more items. We have all our test APKs and they also gave us the source code — we also have the AWS login handover. We have everything we need. When we’re ready, we’ll engage them again to help us publish it.

I liked that they weren’t holding themselves to release the whole project. They actually engaged us on every milestone and every time they were publishing something, they would send us the TestFlight app. We would give comments and feedback in real-time, and we were able to see the progress of their work — if there was something we didn’t like, they’d fix it quickly. 

When we initially started with the design, they would send us the sketch files to review as we were always engaged in this whole journey — that helped us in measuring the progress and the quality of their work.

How did Yuvasoft Solutions Private Limited perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was fantastic. We would engage with one of their senior managers, and he was really great. Any time there were any issues, we’d drop him an email and he was quick to call us or reply to the email. He also gave us the liberty to talk to even the developers and we never felt like we were kept in the dark. Additionally, any issues and concerns were resolved quickly. If there was anything that required more discussion, he would set up Zoom or Skype meetings, and we’d discuss with their solution architect or designer to solve it. They use some tools internally and we used to maintain all the issues and concerns on Excel Sheets and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re really competitive in their pricing and the quality that they give. At first, we were really skeptical because of the price, but when we saw their work, it was really fantastic. They delivered high-quality products with no bugs at all. They have capabilities to work on all different projects with designing, architecture, cloud, front- and backend development. They’re a good team who can do everything.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some times where we required them to use different technologies. They had the capability to train people, but they didn’t have people to work on other technologies. If I asked them to do data warehousing, they wouldn’t have the resources to do it immediately, but I can understand because they’re not a very large enterprise. They can’t maintain a big pipeline but they have the capability to train people.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Always try to manage your work as well and don’t completely rely on someone else to do it. Keep track of things on your end so that you can easily pick up any issues with the project management. Either ask them to involve you in the same project management activities, or you track it on your side yourself.
