The concept, which originated with an employee at a local industrial door company, was intended to streamline the inspection process of fire doors at large buildings, facilitating compliance with safety requirements. Following the design and requirements we provided, YSBM Group developed the solution with an iOS tablet app and custom API to a web application.

What was the team composition?

The project team included an iOS developer, a PHP developer, and a Python developer, as well as QA resources and a technical project manager.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our client has experienced a significant reduction in the time needed for door inspections and the subsequent paperwork required for each reporting authority. Doors are inspected annually, so the real returns will come next year when doors are reinspected, and the technician won’t need to enter door specifications and information a second time.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We paired our project manager with YSBM Group's project manager to ensure seamless communications and fast responses. This has proven an effective model for us to deliver quality products to our clients.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They possess both an innate ability to understand complicated requirements and a willingness to ask additional questions whenever needed.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As with all projects, there is always room for improvement. We approach each project as a team effort and get better with every successful launch. Both of our teams work together, striving to improve communication, project definition, and requirements gathering.

We wanted the platform to facilitate the improvement of user results over time by giving them personalized tests based on their previous activity.

We selected YSBM from a pool of potential suppliers on a work-sharing platform. We initially gave them small development projects to assess their technical capacity, as well as their professionalism. It soon became clear that YSBM was the best choice for us.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They produced a very high-quality product and a stable platform.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Project management was arranged by following Agile methodology with 2-4 weeks sprints. They performed detailed, documented sprints. We truly appreciated their regular, transparent communication about development progress. They made sure to discuss any potential challenges along the way. If a problem did arise, they had a very proactive and constructive approach to problem solving. They would always give us their point of view regarding choices of technology or user experiences.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The YSBM team was very client-oriented. They contributed in a positive manner to our overall goals by providing expertise from not only a technology point of view, but also a user experience point of view.
