DEAFinition NPC is a Deaf-led organisation that provides South African Sign Language training, Deaf awareness programmes, accessibility services, and employment-focused initiatives to promote the inclusion and empowerment of Deaf people.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Yobi Code to accomplish?

• We hired Yobi Code to develop and support DEAFinition SASL App
• Making South African Sign Language (SASL) learning more accessible and engaging.
• We want a user-friendly digital platform that could support SASL education, improve accessibility and help us promote Deaf awareness and inclusion.

Yobi Code designed, developed and continues to support the DEAFinition SASL App. Key deliverables included mobile app development, integration of SASL learning content, technical support and ongoing improvements to enhance the user experience and accessibility.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project successfully delivered and continues to enhance the DEAFinition SASL App, improving access to South African Language learning. Key outcomes include an improved app layout and user experience, multilingual support through addition of isiZulu, isiXhosa and Afrikaans, and increased accessibility for a wider range of users.

Yobi Code managed the project professionally and maintained good communication throughout. They were responsive to our needs, open to feedback and worked collabratively with us to implement updates and improvements.

The measurable outcomes from the project reflect clear progress and success, evidenced through improved system performance, timely delivery against agreed milestones, and enhanced user functionality. These outcomes demonstrate that Yobi Code met critical technical requirements, delivered stable and tested features, and contributed to increased operational efficiency across our processes. Together, these results confirm the project’s positive impact and the effectiveness of the development work completed.

Allocating additional resources during peak phases of the project could have supported quicker turnaround times and reduced pressure on the core development team. Enhancing this aspect would further improve delivery consistency and overall project efficiency.
